I see what you're saying about the shield. It's definitely the lighting as the shield was painted brass.

As for RBJ, they're a spinoff of Fotress Figures. Here's their blurb from Kickstarter.
RBJ Game Company is a joint project from siblings Ronda Jones, Ben Rodman and Jeff Rodman. Jeff and Ben Rodman have been making miniatures as Fortress Figures for decades. Ronda is an accountant brought to the project to make sure the numbers work. A unique combination of passion and pragmatism that assures success.

A lot of their stuff is sculpted by Bobby Jackson. The S.T.A.R. Troops are definitely Bobby Jackson sculpts.

That explains the dog bots. "Schnauzer: where passion meets pragmatism."

Are they metal?

Yes, most of their stuff is metal. However, as I recall, they also produced a lot of the troopers and a number of the robots in resin as well during the initial Kickstarter. They run Kickstarters fairly often and I believe they just finished one up. Usually when they do, they offer most of their back catalog at a discount as well. It's possible that when they do their next sci-fi Kickstarter, they'll offer the resin figures again.

The dog is, unfortunately a bit at odds with the look of the rest of my collection and its own. It's just a bit too cartoony. A cartoony look does seem fitting for a Search and Rescue robot though.

Last night I completed an old RAFM skeleton I've had sitting on my table for YEARS. I've just never had any drive to finish him. I'll probably try selling off the whole set now that they're actually finished.

I also completed an Ion Age conversion I've had sitting around for a while. Months back, they were doing a deal where if you spent more than 10 pounds, they sent a free Jade Ape battlesuit in your order. Not a bad deal, so I went with it. After all, the one I've got could use a buddy, and who doesn't need more heavy power armors?

Well, there wound up being an error with my order. They sent me the Jade Ape arms and gun, but the body was the Planetary Militia's Steornede power armor. Totally different design. But, I did notice that both suits have similar stances and builds, so I figured, what the hell? Why not just use what I got and convert it?

Here's the result.

The Jade Ape ius a dual role suit. Primarily, it's meant to be used as a logistics unit, like the Power Loader from Aliens. It's mainly meant for handling cargo. But, it can be used in combat as an assault unit, if necessary. I figured, why not make a Prydian version of the Jade Ape? Thus, the Loader type Steornede.

Impressive. How much table space do you need to field the whole thing?

Now showing a Harlequin Dreadnought!

Painting total as of 4/25/2024: 33 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

That is quite impressive.

I look forward to seeing them in person this weekend.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

To play that full army, I don't think I have a table big enough to properly fit them all.

I'll try and bring my digital camera tomorrow so I can get somewhat decent photos of them all. I should point out, the Knight Valiant has been embiggened. He uses a torso extension from ComradeQuiche and knee extensions from Taro Modelmaker. They really do help improve the overall look of the Dominus Class Knights.

That's good news. I'll keep an eye out for their next KS. Robots and dogs are two of my son's favorite things...

Yeah, impressive is most certainly the first word that comes to mind when I see that picture. Fantastic job.

My dad wanted to see the full Raven army, plus my parents' house has better lighting, so I figured their coffee table would be a good place for a photo shoot. And that previous group shot was done with my crappy phone camera. I took some proper pics of the new Knights today.

I kept these pics fairly large. Dakka shrank them, but if you click on them and go to the gallery, you can zoom into them.

I'll start with the Warden

I should note, all of my Questoris class Knights have magnetized arms, so I can swap all of their weapons around. This one will probably serve as either a Warden or a Crusader.

Then we have the Dominus Class Knight, the Knight Valiant. As I believe I mentioned before, I have embiggened him. He uses a waist extension from Comrade Quiche, which is the first thing I've ever purchased off of Shapeways, and knee extensions from Taro Modelmaker. They really help give it a more impressive stature.

This pic really allows you to see the waist extension.

I really like my final product, here. Enough so that I'm tempted to want to paint the other variant of the Dominus class. Thankfully, I'm more than a bit burnt out on these big kits right now. I just want to focus on painting some smaller figures at the moment.

Since it's October, I got a hankering for painting some ghosts. So, I picked up a box of Glaivewraith Stalkers to play around with. Got the first one done.

The rusty blade is a nice touch.

You seemed to have done a better job at the wispy ethereal bits at the ends of their tatters than I did.

At this point I'm just kinda like " it, I'm slapping some paint on 'em and calling it a day."

Boo!

Have you considered a fluorescent green paint for the tattered ends? It might make for a very nice effect.

I think the whispy bits look a bit better in the photos than they do in person. Fluo paints would make for an interesting look, I bet. I want a coherent look for these guys though, so I'll be doing them all in the same manner.

Horseface number two finished. With luck, I should have them all finished by Saturday. It's a little hard to see due to the angle, but I decided to go with fall colors on the leaves for this guy.

I'll probably do the final ghost with the drum.

I regret not doing the drummer, as the easy to build box is the only way to currently get one.

If we ever do a proper Sigmar game again it's pretty handy.

You down for a skirmish battle this weekend?

Your GW stuff is really nice, but I am blown away by how well your style fits those Bones miniatures. You are really getting a huge amount out of those figures despite them not being the best in terms of detail, your paint jobs make them look awesome.

Thanks for the kind words.

Here's another Bones beastie, the "Carrion Worm." But really, it's just a Carrion Crawler.

I also whipped up another Loyalist Death Guard Marine. This time, a Heavy Bolter.

The funny thing is, he does actually match up decently with my Chaos Death Guard, color-wise. I used a completely different set of colors for it, too. I used the Deepkin flesh colors on it as well as a purple wash and a white drybrush.

I completed Kira Nikolovski, the Sphyr mercenary from Star Saga. This one's a resin mini. It looks a bit rough in the pic, but it looks much better in person.
