Am I the only one who can't figure out how they could run out of door stands? They knew: 1. How many they needed per box. 2. How many KS boxes were pledged for. You have to be pretty fethed up to not be able to do the math and order the correct amount. I know it is not that simple. When you use KS product to fulfill retail orders instead of holding it for and shipping it to KS backers, I could see where you screw up. (not really, you still know how many box sets you are making and how many stands you need per, so ordering the correct amount plus some overage is still pretty damned easy). What a fething clown show this continues to be.

The facehugger switch is a real shame. I'm guessing, though, that the original "unbased" ones were just too fragile?

Yeah you would think that is a basic ..along the lines of using a basic xl spreadsheet to list all the components for each pledger and if you run Out of one then start packing the pledges that don't have those on their list.
Maybe the extra door stands disappeared into all those pre orders of space crusade

I'm also intrigued by the statement that when their supplier 'ran out', Prodos needed 4 weeks' tooling time - are they really saying that they have cut an injection mould tool to make their own stands, and THEN got stuck with the funny colours that they showed in the photo? Or did they settle for the funny colours and the 4 weeks' tooling time is untrue? Or did I misunderstand and they did both?
Here's Jarek's quote and I can't be sure what he's meaning:
There has been an issue with door stands supplying for AvP board game (supplier ran out of it and could not supply any more from China, thus we needed to find a manufacturer in Europe and pay for tooling, 4 weeks delay), as a result some of you may receive a board game with different than black door stands, we took whatever supplier had in stock.

I took the statement as their initial supplier ran out of black door stands. They took whatever color that initial supplier had in stock of those particular stands to ship with stuff, but that wasn't enough.
They found another manufacturer (probably to decrease delays with China), they picked someone in Europe. There will be a delay probably because that company has their own queue of stuff and need to tool for the stands.
That was how I read it. Now whether that means boxes for backers are delayed or that effects retail AvP board game or both, I'm not sure.

Just make sure she does it with the thinner tiles you'll likely be getting instead of what was shown initially; you won't have any permanent skull damage from those not retail but really retail copy kickstarter tiles. You'll get your fluorescent door stands and one piece facehuggers eventually.

Jarek Ewertowski: Hi there it will be forge world titans quality sculpt in terms of interior thanks And more info on the Berserker card and door stands Jarek Ewertowski: yes everybody will get the card in W3 in this case, as for completing wave 2, well no door stands supply hit us hard, KS and retail as well. Jarek Ewertowsk: we have not expected to get this "off shelves" product to became obsolete, it looks like we have been the only one using this for a board game...

I suspect, the Facehugger change is due to the Licencing requirements, E.g., models must have 'Fox' stamped on the base or something. Eitherway, this KS is still a trainwreck.

This seems a little doubtful to me given the Fox logo will be on the retail packaging.
I'd check whether existing models have Fox stamped on them but I haven't received anything yet ;-)

In the pictures of the face huggers it looked like they were cast/molded to thier own base. Maybe thats why they couldn't use the pre-existing bases? Either way, I don't know what to think of them until I can see them in scale compared to other minis. IIRC during the ks they said the sculp would be larger than scale due to how small they would be in true scale? At any rate just another example of a half assed attempt to get this project out the door, IMO.

Looks like they were sculpted on top of a base insert, so I suspect they will still fit into a standard base.

The ones originally shown were not on a base. Someone speculated maybe they were put on a base to allow the Fox logo, we just pointed out that the other figures handled the logo issue by putting them on logo bases. Could have done the same with the face huggers.

I suspect they had alot of breakages while casting on the huggers as they were very fine .to save on costs they've integrated them into the base so they are easier to cast and not as fragile. Best thing to do tbh . They could allways do some multipart ones later on .

Nope, they're 30mm bases, not inserts. You'll have to do a lot of work to turn them into inserts, probably not worth it.

Personnally, I really love the new cast of facehuggers on their textured bases ^^
If you want to get your own facehuggers to put on whoever's head you want, a little bit of oyumaru would really helps ^^
I have a secret weapon base with a dead facehugger and I casted a lot !! With a little cut, it is possible to put it on a head ^^

Not that bothered how the facehuggers come, those bases look like they will mix well with the Fenris games ones. Will the 'Ash' base ever be released I wonder?
The rule in the game is pretty terrible (actually, canon-busting) where you take something out with a Facehugger and then it comes back as a warrior or whatever. That one's going to be house-ruled to 'instant kill' instead
Am just waiting on my wave 3 stuff now, although definitely enjoying painting my way through the marines (which are lovely, it has to be said)

I've received my AVP game this morning in the UK via UPS. Not sure if I have the KS version or Retail? Inside the box, all the cards are held by a rubber band, originally I believe they came in their own box. The board tiles themselves look OK, but don’t know the difference between a retail copy and a KS copy. I don’t have the green acid spit template. I’ll do a proper inventory check later tonight. If someone can point out the differences in the two versions it would be appreciated.
In terms of extra’s I ordered, I have:
- Facehuggers (moulded onto bases)
- Beserker Predator
- Yutani Marines
- Alternative Colonial Marines
- Powerloader
- Alien Queen
- Alien Royal Guard
- Alien Eggs
- Alien Warriors
- x3 sets of Dice
All of these are just packed in zip lock bags and loose in 1 box. Not in any sort of retail packaging.
I’m still waiting on:
- Predator Ship Tiles
- Cloaked Predators (all variants)
- Young Bloods
- Female Predator
- Sentry Guns
- Dutch and someone else!
There is also a 25% off voucher for their store.

The basic difference (bar the shoddy packaging, but then everyone is now get that afaict - they haven't used retail packaging for add-ons since December) is the thickness of the cardstock. If your floor tiles are a different thickness to your ping tokens and doors, then you have retail. if they are all the same, you have original kickstarter. Given that you don't have the spit templates, I fully expect you've got a retail-ised set. You'll also have a few less corridors and other bits (air ducts iirc) Still enough to set up all the layouts in the rulebook, but still less than the KS loadout.
BTW - you're the very first to report getting the alternative marines. We had no idea they'd even been approved. Automatically Appended Next Post: According to Prodos (on facebook) you can't have the alternative marines because they haven't been made yet, Are you sure you mean alternatives - ie the multi-part poseable ones, and not the additional set that matches the ones that come in the boxed game?
