So, thinking about converting my own U.S.S Ares (Ares Class) but... I really don't wanna use the Tiny-prise as a base, plus, I don't wanna go buy another tiny-prise...lol.

Any suggestions that are..cost effective?

for the price of one tinyprise.

I made these guys years ago, but I remember the kit being very easy to work with.

Considering how much money and trouble went into procuring a set of those ships, the 200 USD ebay price does not seem terrible. I waited for three and a half hours on Saturday morning to get into the dealer hall and actually managed to get into the line at the booth. After only 10-15 minutes in line, however, they announced all the cloaked ships were gone.

I also saw the oversized Borg cube, which looks pretty fearsome. If I played this game, I would have no trouble spending the money to get it.

Finally -- I got in a demo of D&D Attack Wing. The game seems very interesting and I think it could be a big hit. In light of it coming out, I am trying to lobby the Powers That Be to open an Attack Wing sub-forum to cover both games.

Don't forget that this same crowd wouldn't allow a child to move either, until the parent had to actually yell for people to STOP so the kid can get out. Thank God, the woman and child were ok.

Pretty shameful for anyone to act like that. Don't need to hear that children shouldn't be at the event. This is suppose to be for plastic toys. It's ok to act like animals for plastic toys?

Shameful. How grown people can act like this.

Yeah, the whole thing is shameful.

Bobtheinquisitor, I'm actually looking for something in AW scale, seeing as how the Ares class is smaller than the Constitution, :(

Oh. I misinterpreted your use of 'tinyprise' then. I don't know any cheaper options that small, unless you can find a cheap micromachine mini. I suppose you could try to cut up an oberth mini to have a small saucer, remove the nacelles and replace them with tubes/nx nacelles, then shave down and reposition the engineering hull... Or tinyprise.

It's a shame they stopped selling those micromachines keychains. I got a JJprise for $2 back in 2010 or so, as well as a TOS D7.

Anyone know what's going on with the Defiant?

It seems to be sold out everywhere and the price on ebay went off the chart.

Last I heard, they've pretty much stopped production of Defiant models for the time being as they're stocking up on them for the 'Mirror Universe' Defiant out in the not too distant future.

I haven't seen very much of waves 0-2 on the shelves lately. Its been months since I have seen a Valdor at any of my stores.

Just picked one up two weeks ago. Went back a few days ago and their supply of Attack Wing is down to 2 ships. Not sure if they will be getting more or not.

So new ships come out Wednesday, NX class, Surok class,, and scout cube. So I feel like this wave is a little blah. I will probably pick up one of each eventually but I don't think I will be running out right away for this wave. I want the Vulcan ship, but that is mostly to finish a fleet. A buddy of mine wants tomstart playing and he really likes Vulcans. The other 2 ships are really kind a meh. Each has a few nice upgrades, but they are missing the "WOW I really want to play that ship" factor.

October is a little more exciting with the Enterprise E coming out. However November is what I am waiting for, Chang's BoP & the Scimitar.

Anyone else feel like wave 7 is under whelming?

Mostly, on my phone.

Personally, I'm sulking as the Dominion don't get anything till April at the earliest :(

I know how you feel its June or July for my poor Ferengi to see any reinforcements It is really crappie that they have to wait a year and a half for a retail ship, especially when Vulcans were added out of the blue.

I'm very keen to see what the scimitar brings and if it'll be the borg killer I'm hoping for...

Also, our ST:AW threads and the potential for a forum spot is a discussion here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/610862.page

You should all stop by and provide input, I think both the Admins and Mods are looking for our thoughts on the subject.

I'd personally really like the opportunity to have a forum and post threads about this game, people posting in these threads gets lost far too easily.

I posted my 2 cents, I hope it helps. It is getting crowded in these 2 threads.

Well, end result is we got unstickied and set adrift in the misc miniature games, with the freedom to post individual posts but with, I think, a heavy dilution from all the other games here. I'm far from convinced this is good for the STAW players on dakka. I hope this isn't the final outcome and keep my fingers crossed for a forum section for our own game or a WK whole forum, combined with heroclix and DnDAW, that seems viable to me.

Well, that's unsettling, I actually rather liked being in a well known and easy to find location... now I have to look for this thread.

:/ This does not make me happy.

It is an old mod's proverb that revenge is a dish best served cold. It is very cold in Misc. Miniature Games

On now be honest with me Bob, poster to poster. You prefer it this way, as it was meant to be, don't you? No stickied thread in our time. Once more dear friends into Misc. Miniature Games.

We have many threads now, we can post a thread about something and have it actually get plenty of replies instead of a question in the megathread which was immediately trodden down by people answering the previous poster's question.

If we establish there is sufficient traffic and of a decent quality, who knows, Yakface has said the future for the game's status is up in the air atm, we may yet receive a forum or subforum of our own.

Post more, post quality, build towards a brighter future.
