I'm trying to find a model of the Voyager "speedboat" style shuttlecraft. The extremely aerodynamic looking one. I could have sworn I saw someone making one 20 years ago, but I can't find any details these days.

I'm not criticizing, but why on Earth is an Alien Queen like that available at Walmart in this day and age. Is there a new Alien movie out that somehow went streaking past me while I was reading the news?
Speaking of news, I checked Google and it's a 35th anniversary edition. Makes sense.

If I had to guess it has more to do with the Disney/Fox merger, either someone in Fox trying to rake in some merchandising money before the merger (and impress the new bosses) or someone in Disney trying to monetize their new property as fast as possible.
There's also an Aliens APC for $20 or so that seems to scale well with 40k.
More info here.

These are now available to order, and have dimensions listed on their shop page. The (very expensive) 1/100 scale cargo truck is 56.6cm x 30.0cm x 14.5cm , while the more affordable iron ore truck is 23.1cm x 16.0cm x 9.2cm, so about half the size. I don't know if that makes it more like 1/200 or more like 1/50, but I think it might work at 40K scale as a big vehicle given that it's about three times the height of a human figure.

I don't like what they've done with the saucer. Every version of the NCC-1701 design prior to this has had perfectly vertical sides around the rim of the saucer. It's one of the classic design elements. Why'd they change it for Discovery?

No, the saucer has always had a slight angle inward from the top. 20, maybe 30 degrees.
Nowhere NEAR as pronounced as in that picture, though.

Description
This is an injection-plastic kit of a science-fiction/anime item.
The Allied Space Force heavy cruiser Cordoba from the 1983 anime film "Crusher Joe" gets a new model kit from Hasegawa! Captain Kowalski's ship features a finely molded bow and bridge area, with its complex shapes and dense panel lines accurately recreated. The hull parts are divided vertically, and adopt a structure that provides reliable assembly and strength. Glue is not necessary for assembly! The Cordoba's large turret can be rotated, and four assault boats, the Crusher Team's ship Minerva, and Fighter 1 and Fighter 2 are all included as well. A base for display is also included. Get this awesome ship for your own collection today!
[Mold Color]: Gray
[Size]: Approximately 32.8cm long, 9.4cm wide when completed
I'm assuming the $600 price tag is a place holder.
But if the 33cm length is right we're looking at almost a foot long. Not much use in BFG.

While I've enjoyed the original series, I'm surprised they're making Votoms stuff still, that show aired what, 35 years ago now? I dig the kit though, that's pretty awesome.

The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

They keep making those kits for the same reason they keep making the Star Trek OST Enterprise models.
While the TV show was in the 80's, they were making OVAs in that setting up to 2011. It got the anime version of "TV show and a dozen movies" (hour or two hour mini serieses.)

I remember when Sailor Moon ended, it seems the next day her ever present face disappeared from the toy stores, supermarkets and book shops. It was like Stalin coming to power. Now it was all about Detective Conan or whatever.
But while a lot of Japanese pop culture is disposable it does seem there are some anime that are revered as classics.
I mean they're still making toys based on Lupin III. Macross and Voltoms both seem to be on that list.

Lupin keeps coming out with new stuff though. They just released a CG movie not too long ago and had a new tv series just a year or two ago.
Sailor Moon still has stuff being made, too. She hasn't gone away. She just doesn't seem to hold a candle to something like Evangelion when it comes to merchandising.
