That's why I don't think they're 3-in-1 box. There isn't a lot of variety going on and GW is usually pretty good about putting some variety inside of a kit to keep the models inside from coming out looking the same.

Excellent point. I'm wondering how many component parts the guns themselves will share?

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Killa Kans are/were already Fast Attack as per the Dread Mob rules in Imperial Armour 8.

yeah, sure... but the imperial armor series are forge world books, not gw, and therefore supplemental rules. which means the current codex overrules them until gw publishes a book demonstrating otherwise. so they are heavy support, and not fast attack.
and i'd rather the big mek gain the ability to take kanz as a troops choice, like they can with dreads.

FW is GW. It's the same company. Everything FW makes is a GW product. I can post proof in the form of pics from the current FW catalogue, but to summarize, it states quite clearly that FW is GW.

It's best not to start up the FW is legal or not debate in this thread. No matter how many times it is started on here (which is quite often) it just goes in circles with posters getting more and more agitated until the thread is locked.

The person who broke the rumor has a good track record, though, so I'm remaining optimistic. And if it doesn't turn out that way I can just scratchbuild them ANYway, they already look like they're made out of spare bitz!

If they do come as 3 whole guns per box I'll be happy but surprised. Conversely if it is 3 per box then I can't see them giving us 12 guns if there's 4 different guns? I remain hopeful but expect to have to shell out £75 for 3...them guns better be the bestest anti tank dakka since shokk attack guns!

£75 for three big guns seems to be the most likely result of the aggressive pricing strategy.

As to the rules for them - I expect they will receive the GW blessing of tinkered rules

Personally, I just bought three big gun proxies from Kromlech at a fraction of the price along with a box of GW gretchin to act as the crew. I much prefer them and would suggest others do the same if they want to save money and have a decent set of big gunz

How can you tinker with rules that haven't existed in the game since, what, 2nd ed? The old rules aren't playable under the current edition of the game at all.

Have you used the big gunz? I've found the lobba and kannon to be more than up to scratch

These things aren't lobbas and kannons though. They are traktor beams and bubble chukkas and all that old-school stuff.

Really depends what you expect from them. I find the lobbas handy for harassing and killing infantry while hiding. It encourages the enemy to change their strategy as it's a (cheap to field) irritation.

Kannons, useful for frag/krak. So use them accordingly for light vehicles or troops.

Do I expect them to deal with heavy vehicles? No, but that's not why I have them. Do they function as I want them to - yes. I don't have an expectation that that particular unit is supposed to destroy heavy tanks.

Is it confirmed that the kit isn't including the lobbas and kannons as well as the traktor and chukkas? I'm interested in how the rules for them will work out

I'm hoping the new guns have rules akin to the "good old days" if not ill be a touch gutted. If they're just strength and ap guns they may as well not bother. Fingers crossed for rules overnight

Leaked images of the rules are out - Kannons and Lobbas are now interchangeable and cost 18 pts each, so that's a reduction, with Zzapps only costing 5pts now. The new gun options are 12pts on top of the 18pts for the gun platform itself.

Not bad at all!

This is how they ended up. Bubble Chukka is SD6 APD6, so might not be worth it save for VERY friendly games.

Edit: misread that, now you can have units of FIVE big gunz! AND each individual gun can have its own weapon - NIIIICE

The one big change I'm not sure about is: every gun is only a unit of 1, meaning I can no longer park my Shokk Attack Gun backfield with a full unit of Kannons + maxed out grots to protect him.

Apalling rules + excessive price tag = I'll pass.

I had high hopes for this release, but so far only the Gits have caught my attention. I'm still mildly anxious to know what the new codex may bring but, in terms of new units, 7th edition orks are starting to look like a minor letdown in my eyes.

Like those Big Gunz, though I would have enjoyed some more "weird" rules.
They look big, they say dakka to me, seem to have plenty of bits to play with, and may be super easy to convert into warbuggies!

The original Big Gunz got a points reduction for their basic cost, which is great if their stats stay the same. What I really want to know is how much the SAG is going to cost.

We got the leaks quite early this time compared to the last couple weeks. Hooray for leaks! Looks awesome and once again fun to convert. Rules wise they're alright. Since the traktor cannon has skyfire, could we expect it to be a trukk option or looted wagon option?
