-Gives added meaning to how Jon looks like Arya, who resembles Lyanna
Seriously?

Seriously. Both comments are mentioned in the text.
Spoiler:
Hey, they obviously could just have the same father, right? Sure...but it also slyly supports Jon being Lyanna's child. GRRM loves his little suggestions and ironic comments. Like the comment that whoever Jon's mother was, she didn't leave much of herself in his features? Perhaps it's the exact opposite...we don't see anything of Jon's *father* in his features. And maybe that white-haired direwolf was a clue (among others) right in front of us from the very beginning of the series.
The idea of Arya and Lyanna being very similar is one thing that helps fuel the theory that Lyanna was the Knight of the Laughing Tree. Think of the behavior of the wolf maid in that story...a bit wild and strong, dumping wine over the head of her brother, etc. Think of the mysterious KotLT, small in stature and wearing mismatched armor, coming out of nowhere to skillfully fight and defeat all the big bad knights at the tourney. It's all very Arya-like to me. And you can see how the Dragon Prince might fall for a woman like that.
There's something very important about that story to the Starks, as evidenced by the Reeds asking Bran "are you sure you've never heard this story from your father" more than once while they told it.

That's even worse. If you want a deeper understanding of what's going on, either follow along better or read the books.
edit: There's also any number of wikis/books/etc that help decode what's going on. GoT isn't rocket surgery.

No but it is needlessly complicated. In the first 3 books it was complicated but in a good way. The next two introduced so many new and boring characters and perspectives that things got muddled. And not in a good way.
Seriously things can be complex and mysterious without basically just throwing people into the story to specifically mess with it.
I've read all of them, multiple times the first 3. And I won't read them anymore. I'll happily wait for the show to end the series for me. I've come to loathe GRRM as an author.

Sorry. My bad. I misread. I read “like” instead of “looks like”, which gives a totally different meaning. I NEED TO STOP MISREADING STUFF IN STUPID WAYS LIKE THAT.

Agree with every word - at least the show seems to reducing the dross and boring bits somewhat.

Agreed. They are reducing the filler by quite a bit. Does make me think they may actually get back the season they "lost" expanding the first three books into 4 seasons. Since there is so much filler in last two books.
Also I like how Dani doesn't seem to be transitioning to a simpering little girl and that Sansa isn't portrayed as nearly as stupid or naive as in the books.

Well there is occasionally something relevant in the last two books but you really have wade through the sludge to get there.
Dani is being done well in the show - hopefully they won't be interfered with to make her suddenly as you say a simpering girl............. some good TV characters that are small parts in the book - Bron being a stand out one of these.....
I can't seem the show bothering with much Dorn stuff either - the good thing is that unlike Authors who can just thrown in as many new characters as they want - TV shows have to pay actors so I think this will be kept to a minimum.

A little late but to weigh in on the whole Jon cant be a Targaryen because he doesnt have white hair thing, I think this is easily explained away by the fact that Jon isnt a pureblood Targaryen like Dany or Viserys. As a half Stark its not much of a stretch that he would look so different.

The sign that Joffery isn't a Baratheon is that he still had blonde hair from the pairing of his Mother & uncle dad
The Targaryeans were also pretty big on the whole pairing up siblings which would mean traits that normally wouldn't be dominant if they were paired with someone from a different family would be visible ie White hair/Purple eyes
Currently debating whether to study for my exams or paint some Deathwing

Yes. Its established in the books and the show that fair haired features (the platinum blonde of the Targaryens, and the blonde hair of the Lannisters), as well as the violet eyes of the Targaryens are recessive features (and its also true of real world genetics for blonde hair, a trait that is slowly dying out).
Cersei Lannister's children (born of incest with her brother Jaime) are all blonde. But all of Robert Baratheon's bastards (e.g. Gendry) were dark haired. And (in the show at least) Cersei speaks of her first (and only) child with Robert Baratheon, which died in childbirth (in the books, Cersei "aborted" it) and was also dark haired like the rest of Robert's children. This is what tips off Stannis Baratheon and Jon Arryn that Cersei's children were bastards - Stannis knows that all of Robert's bastards are dark haired.
The Targaryen's frequently practiced incest as a deliberate means of keeping their bloodline "pure" and maintain the classic Targaryen features. Targaryens with a non Targaryen parent, or Targaryen bastards tended to not have the classic platinum blonde hair.

I can see them dropping the arc with that Dornish prince trying to get Dani to honor that worthless marriage contract but the stuff with Cersei's daughter probably will stay. Dorn will likely play a bigger role in book six and seven and logically the TV show at that time.
