According to the draft rules posted so far for the Champs, the answer is yes:

http://www.adepticon.org/wpfiles/2015/201540Kchamp.pdf

And by the way, if you want to find anything that Matthias (the guy posting missions, etc, in this thread), just go to any of his posts and to the left under his user profile click the 'filter thread' link. That will filter the thread to only show his posts, so you can then easily find all the link for PDFs that have been posted so far.

What tournaments are the Maelstrom of war cards planning to be used for? I have a team for the team tournament and we have some design/purchasing decisions to make based on if those cards are going to be used in the event?

Saw the Adepticon FAQ's are starting to go up! I assume there will be more relating to some of the specific questions brought up in this thread as it goes forward. Thanks for the hard work!

You only participate on Friday if you make the finals. Usually top16.

Technically yes. If you make the top 36 or whatever it is now. If not Thursday is it

Tempting to play some X-wing, but my Friday and Saturday are already booked, and I won't be landing in time for the Thursday start time. Still looking for something to slot into Sunday, and maybe one of the evenings (or Thurs afternoon).

Is there a summary of any new modifications to the 2014 amendments that reflect 2015 edits in the addendum?

I did a quick scan and nothing explicit nor imperative stood out.

Thanks in advance.

Sadly there were just too many little changes to stick to trying to color-code just the changes from last year's FAQ. Suffice to say, there are lots of changes if you get in there and look just based on new codexes, 7th edition hitting, etc.

Agree with Yak above, after reading it there are many little changes, and some of the changes are key ones which waffle between playgroups, so you'll want to check carefully.

For instance, adepticon is allowing the infiltrating character to confer infiltrate to a unit, some events do, some events don't. From the FAQ, they are using ruin levels (barrage), some events do, some events don't. They aren't allowing you to gain both psychic focus AND chaos psychic focus - etc etc.

Those sorts of nuances are the ones you won't want to get wrong/end up arguing at the table without realizing it was just ruled differently then you're used to here.

6. Models that were once historically supplied with smaller bases (e.g., older Terminators) are still legal models; although it is REQUIRED that you update them to the current base size for the applicable game system. Models that are supplied with two different types of bases (e.g., Chaos Daemons) must be fielded on the base type that is appropriate for the applicable game system (e.g., Chaos Daemons on square bases are NOT allowed in Warhammer 40K events).

So from the new model policy all Blood Angels and it looks like Necron players are going to be required to rebase their infantry models on 32mm bases to be used at Adepticon?

I could be behind the times, but my impression was that only a unit or two has been switched to 32mm thus far?

That rule was in place last year (and probably before that), too, and obviously specifically mentions terminators because otherwise those could be fielded on 25mm bases.

Well Blood Angels were historically supplied on 25mm bases but all of the range(save for special characters) available from GW has been switched to 32mm according to thier website. Now, some stores may still have 25mm versions, but I suspect somewhere you can still find Terminators as well on 25mm.

There is no requirement to re-based existing 25mm to the new 32mm base for this year, or the foreseeable future.

Paul - when you inquired about this via email the other day, I sent you the following:

Tactical Marines, Assault Troops, Necron Warriors, and Necron Lords are still supplied on both base types. The specific ruling regarding Terminators is a historical reference. A significant grace period (years) was allotted to players to update their collections. We anticipate taking a similar stance with these models once they reach a point at which they are exclusively supplied on 32mm bases.

Maybe it went to your spam folder?

No, I am clear on the rule. But the model policy doesn't match what you conveyed to me in the email. For the general public I am thinking this should be made more specific.

I think that's a fair point, but your post above asks as if you don't know the official position (that a long grace period will be given to change to 32mm bases, i.e. "the foreseeable future"). I could see clarifying that, but putting in an exception would make the model rules longer.

For myself, I've gotten approval for all sorts of conversions, but I understand that the official document might need to be rather firm in case it needs to be enforced in egregious cases. But the staff have been awesome in every case I've seen allowing people to use their models - I think the model policy is mostly to set the standard / prevent abuse.

That is all you had to say. People ask for (and we attempt to implement) clarity all of the time. I can understand how it can be confusing seeing that wording is a several years old now Your original post made it sound like you never got our email reply. A simple 'Statement A doesn't jive with Statement B...what is up with that?' is all that is required and would even start onlookers down the path towards clarity instead of hysteria. We have no desire to make attending any more arduous than it already is.

Where are you getting hysteria? I asked a specific question in regards to a very specific model vs. base size availability issue for models that are currently only available on 32mm and potentially the next release which may do the same.

I was alluding to the way your question was posed, combined with the disregard for the email response, and how it had the potential to send other people (the referenced onlookers) down a path a hysteria instead of clarity...suddenly thinking they need to rebase several models. It wasn't directed towards your question at all.
