2. Failing that I would like optional armourpieces for arms, legs, midriffs, extra helmets and so on. Iwould like to be able to make heavily armoured warriors.
3. I would like more realistically scaled and designed weapons, less high fantasy swords for example.
4. I would like less "schampoo-model" hair and more warriorlike braids, short cuts and shawed sides.
5. I would in a forlorn hope get a few different body types, one petit, one muscular, one slim and so on. But I realise that is unlikely since it might cut down on compability between models int he kit. (No one ever seems to make different body types in plastic kits, probably to make them seem regimented and the mentioned compability - the only example I can think of is WGF:s survivors)
Will buy a few no matter how they end up looking!
Cheers!
I think they are going for a compromise between "skyclad" and full armour - I like both and will also be buying these
Optional armour pieces are a nice idea as are the shaved heads as in Vikings and of course the lovely Ms Natalie Dormer
Foundry do do a variety of body types here: (very slightly NSFW)
Not sure how they would look next to the Shieldwolf ladies but might well work as a warrior band.....but they might be too small to mix and match and they are metal.
Are the maidens one piece or multi-piece do we know?

I agree with Nick, I'd love to see some badass, capable-looking Amazons more than cheesecakey ones. I will probably end up pledging somewhat either way but I would far rather see sensible armour and kill-crazy faces than exposed flesh and model good looks.

1. Some will please you, others will not.
2. "Heavily armored" would be hard just by using bits; if not for a kit designed just for that. No further comment.
3. Weaponry is going to include some more "normal" pieces like axes and swords. Some will have a fantasy touch however, we are trying to have the fantasy aesthetic but without overwhelming it. Here are a couple of examples.
4. Number of heads available will allow a nice variety. Here's another one, although we think we have shown a clear rappresentative of what we are aiming to fund...
And mark my words from now (if we hopefully get there) 2nd maiden kit planned will especially be discussed on the "heads" issue.
Thankfully we have gotten used to it with our Orcs :-D
5. Negative. Maybe in the long future but not in any of the current plans.
Appreciate the faith and support but the project must still get funded first! :-)

People who are already into wargaming will be given what we consider a "crystal clear" view of what the model size is.
(On the other hand if people are still not sure, we'll have plenty of days to make up for it. We think there will be no such need however)
You are refferring to ours I guess, if so, all plastic kits for both factions (even the two mercenary ones assuming it goes that well and the funding covers the whole stretch goal plan we have designed) are multi-piece.
Going to bed now, 02:30' here, just warming up for what is to come :-)

Is it me, or do their waists seem really thin in comparison to their hips and ribcages? I appreciate wanting to get the hourglass shape in there for the midriff, but the model looks a bit too thin given the bulk of belts and armor above and below.
Just my thoughts. I'll reserve judgement once some more images appear of near-finished renders.

I was thinking the same - in that second render she looks like she'd snap in half if she bent over to tie her shoelaces. She gets absurdly thin in the middle there.

Thanks for the replys, these are a lot closer to what I want than the earliest concepts.
Re: heavily armoured I just meant a bit more armoured, not knights, helmets and leather ambraces are what I’m thinking.
The weapons are not a huge issue since swaps are quite easy, but generally I prefer less skulls and stuff on spears and swords and more plain shields.
I absolutely love the head shown above, she look fierce and with a more sensible haircut and much less of a “shampoo and conditioner look”!

I'm not seeing a launch date?
I'd love some sidecuts and braided hair a lot as well, so let us hope that second kit funds. Right? I'm also hoping for some trollslayer hair. Or I'll shave some heads and sculpt it myself, I don't cRe as long as it's METAL \m/

Yeah, but what time? I have no internet in my room (again :|) as I had to find out coming back from my christmas holidays, so I'll need to hang around in an uni building close to launch time if there are EBs to snag!

I'm curious about those valley orcs too.
Are they going to possibly be a plastic kit? I'm all for orcs that aren't goofy looking kitted out to fight.
As nice as the mountain orcs are, I wouldn't mind some more civilized ones as well.

14.00 EST which if we are not mistaken means
Athens: 21.00
Berlin: 20.00
London 19.00
New York: 14.00
Melbourne: 06.00 a.m. ... sorry :-/
RiTides wrote:Launch is tomorrow, I think there's going to be a preview of an orc first though?
Oh, I'm pretty sure we can do better than that! Here's a resin copy of one of our 3-ups of how a Valley Orc is going to go into the sprue tooling (assuming everything goes well and we fund their first kit). If it funds, we have already invested in the kit so it's almost ready to go into production to save us time and allow us to firmly believe we will indeed deliver on time.

That looks quite good! And the heads are separate (on all your orcs)? To be honest, that's the only part of your orc aesthetic that hasn't fit what I need, but that looks very promising.
Would the orcs deliver earlier if they're already ready for production, if that's all someone orders? That was the only other downside for KS-1 for me - I ordered a model that was already complete, but had to wait until everything else was sculpted before it shipped.

That's partially incorrect I'm afraid.
Beta version (1.b1a) is already available and downloadable from our website as promised for free. We wanted to have version 1.c1a instead, which would have had edited text and even more playtests but we run out of time and wanted to give people an idea before KS-2 launched of what more is behind this.
We are also committed in the continuous play "tuning" and (necessary) editing of it all, plus the addition of two more armies within 2016.

The "Starter Army II" sets have a crazy good price-per-model!
Am I just missing the orc renders somewhere, or are the orc offerings just the existing orc infantry unit from the store? I see a lot of orc heroes but not what's in the box.
