Sorry, don't know what happened to the pics...

A belching dwarf, and a howling abomination!
Posted by CoolMiniOrNot
Hail Survivors!
As we enter the third week of our campaign, we find another stretch goal beaten to the ground. Now all backers will get the exclusive Survivor Bob, including his miniature and ID card!

Coming up next we have one more Survivor by Special Guest Naïade:

If we reach $2,200k all backers will get Thundergut, the mighty dwarf with the mighty belch, created by Special Guest Naïade. Thundergut will come with his miniature and ID card.

But that’s not all we have for you in this update! After unlocking Thundergut we’ll be very close to reaching the total amount achieved by the Zombicide Season 2 Kickstarter campaign, so we want to celebrate that milestone with a very special stretch goal:

If we reach $2,255,018 we will unlock the Abominalpha, a new kind of terrifying Abomination, the lord of the zombie wolves! Besides being a Kickstarter Exclusive, this stretch goal reward will only apply to Knight-level pledges. Backers with Huntsman-level pledges will not get the Abominalpha.

While the Wolf-bomination might be terrifying, the Abominalpha is the true leader of the wolf pack! Its powers extend well beyond its feral strength and speed. At its base, the Abominalpha acts like a Wolf-bomination: requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, giving 5 XP, ignores armor, and has 3 actions per activation. But beyond that, its alpha-presence attracts wolfz from far and wide: As long as the Abominalpha is on the board, all cards that would spawn Runners, spawn Wolfz instead! You’ll better take this white nightmare down quickly, or you’ll have to deal with a lot more wolfz than you can handle.

The Abominalpha is a crossover with Wrath of Kings, a miniature game published by Cool Mini Or Not. This is a new, exclusive sculpt, that will be the perfect leader for the packs of ravenous Zombicide wolfz!

Heads up. This figure is only at the $150 pledge level, making the $150 level have two exclusives not available at the $100 level. Is this the first time CMON did an exclusive *SG* figure for a higher pledge level?

I wonder how big it is.

Also, $150 pledges only? Hm.

There was actually a lot of chatter on the KS comments on how the $150 pledge level wasn't worth it, since the expansion could be bought later, and missing a sinlge exclusive hero didn't matter since they were getting soo many heroes.

People looked a gift horse in the mouth, and left room to insert their own foot.

Now, I'm sure there will be complaining about "having" to get the Knight level.

I just think it's nice they chose to reward those who stick with the Knight level.

Has nothing to do with the plastic dashboards.

Has everything to do with the movement to a single color for the hero miniatures to maximize the detail achieved.

The designers chimed in on the reasons for going to one color, and it seems the dashboards did have something to do with that decision (17:15 time stamp on the CMON expo video 2/2 posted above). I guess it did have something to do with the dashboards after all...

At the very end of the video, there was a question about providing a solution for stacked sleeved cards...since, if you have sleeved your cards you know they like to slip and slide all over the place. They mentioned they have something in the works...they may announce during this kickstarter, or soon after.

The mention of the 'yet to be revealed, high profile fantasy artist and some reference to New Zealand... Could that be Alan Lee or John Howe? Or some other artist associated with Weta and the Tolkien films? My guess would be John Howe as he has some sort of connection to the old Rackham team since he did a cover for Cry Havoc! magazine.

I'm really liking most of what I see here so far, though the new Alpha exclusive stretch goal just isn't working for me with those goofy hands...dont think it will be enough for me to pledge for the higher expansion tier.

So right now the only 'extras' exclusive to the $150 level are Gowan and the Abominalpha - and that's it?

The concept art looks pretty sweet, the 3D translation....lost something. The hands are just too big. Stretch goal it is! Cuz no one is gonna want to pay money for that dude (to be fair, the aesthetic is subjective, so saying no one is a bit of a stretch).

I'd been considering dropping to huntsman $100, but I like the wolfbombinalpha, just not sure if I like it enough to stay at $150.

Well, post KS we'll be able to get the $50 expansion for...20% off?

So, $40 give or take?

If they add a few more exclusives in at the $150 level - and maybe some additional figures - it would be worth it to stay in - maybe.

Something more to balance out the fact that we're giving them extra money (and GM) now as opposed to 6 months or so from now.

Huh, the wolf-abom is basically the character werewolf from Wrath of Kings

Kind of funny they would sculpt that exact same thing, apparently from basically the same concept art, without mentioning it is a WoK cross over. (Unless they did and I totally missed it.)

Edit; Never mind, I did just totally miss it.

I thought they did mention it as a Wrath of Kings crossover.

I don't think the Duke of whatever he was had as long of claws in Wrath of Kings though. Dude needs a pedicure and get those suckers trimmed down a bit.

Yep, that's me staying at $100. That's a pure Rackham legacy werewolf, and as much as I love and admire Rackham, I never did care for their werewolves.

Having the Wrath of King model it's a decently different sculpt. But it wouldn't be enough to push me to get that level if I didn't want it already.

Abomination : requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls, and it has 1 action per activation.

Wolf-bomination: requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls, and it has 3 actions per activation

Abominotaur : requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls, and it has 1 action per activation.
Each of its powerful gore attacks deal 2 Wounds to its helpless target.
At the start of the activation step of the Zombies' Phase, set the Abominotaur's target Zone before moving it, ignoring closed doors and walls (but not Vault doors and ramparts). If an Abominotaur has to go through a closed door or wall, first put a “broken wall” token to link its starting and destination Zones, and remove any closed door token that might be in the way. The broken wall is considered as an open door, and thus can generate a Zombie spawn in a previously closed building. Actors can now cross the Zones. After that, proceed with moving all the other Zombies (as the Zombies’ route can be redefined by the wall’s destruction).

Ablobination: requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls.
Whenever the Ablobination activates with Line Of Sight to any Survivors at Range 0-1. It will perform an Attack against ALL Zones at Range 0-1 to which it has Line of Sight. Obstacles preventing Movement between Zones (such as tower ramparts) do manage to block the Ablobination's attack.

Abominalpha : requires a Damage 3 weapon (or Dragon Fire) to kill, grants 5 XP when killed, it's attacks cannot be blocked by Armor rolls, and it has 3 actions per activation
As long as the Abominalpha is on the board, all cards that would spawn Runners, spawn Wolfz instead!

It's a different sculpt.

I know a few Goritsi players that are quite excited for it.

The suvivors in Zombicide unpainted just started to look silly in 100 different colors, and some of them get easily confused with various zombie types.

Having the Heroes all one color makes them a lot easier to keep track of, and probably saves money.

The other thing is for non-US people often have to pay freight as local gaming stores dont stock the products or if they do they are at a huge markup. Its cheaper in the long run especially for aussies to get as much as possible in the KS and only pay a 1 off flat rate of postage.

Aye and on top of that, once someone started painting them it became a pointless thing anyway.. I prefer the slightly sharper detail this allows and the coloured rings seem a much better idea.

I'll be sticking with $150 for the moment.. I have a feeling if they see more folks switching down from Knight, we might yet get a couple more bonuses.. and to be fair some other miniature/boardgame kickstarters have had quite large differences on the pledge levels previously, so its not even new ground.
