All of these are cool. Not sure why but I like the fatties.. Conceptually they are very unique in a sea of buff vietnam swat space knights. The others are cool too.

I notice that Mantic took the Dreadball player Anne-Marie Helgar (or whatever her name was) off their site. I wanted to buy one or two more when I finally had the funds to get their adventure book...

It's not an accident, she's not been made team captain of the Sirens in the new edition.

I don't understand delivery that bad, the worst I've had is the occasional express delivery van driver who only waits about 15 seconds after ringing the doorbell, before racing back to his van with the package to move on to the next delivery.

Not as bad as the FedEx stories, but I had the front door open with the screen door closed )I can see out, but out can't see in) and my PC desk is 15 feet from the front door. A delivery guy rang the doorbell and then immediately walked off, trying to leave a parcel under the doormat instead of carding it or, you know, giving me more than seconds to make it to the actual door. I got to the front door within seconds and told him off pretty harshly. Then I looked at the parcel and found it was for next door, so I told him off again, more harshly. Go, go Australia Post. But that's what happens when you outsource/privatise your delivery service and pay drivers per delivery in the interest of "efficiency" over public sector employees.

Also, we're currently putting the finishing touches to the (Star Saga) pledge manager and will have it up and running shortly. Apologies for the delay

Backed it largely as a source of terrain and miniatures for Deadzone and Warpath. I'm considering doubling up my EB pledge for the extras and all the Nameless stuff which will be getting Deadzone rules soon.

I've been getting into Rogue Stars and Star Saga has been on my mind from the go. I back it and am eager to see it go together. Really contemplating throwing money into the Battle Systems PM as well as all of these things seem like they feed one another (while draining my wallet)

Hey dude I have a bunch of the Battle Systems Sci Fi stuff from their first Sci Fi Kickstarter if you were interested in buying it or something. It's all brand new and unused. I went with a different direction for the project I originally bought it for.

I don't play dungeon crawls but I backed Star Saga for the minis and terrain.

I might have, but despite running 13 Kickstarters back-to-back - actually, they're overlapping, not back-to-back - over 4 1/2 years (that's one roughly every 4 months) they still haven't cared to figure out hub shipping to help backers save on paying a huge proportion of the KS pledge amount on postage and customs fees, like every other "kickstarter company" has, along with many other small companies that figured it out.

Well, that and terribly inconsistent quality of models and rules and polish. So, trust. Especially after Dungeon Saga. "We know we fethed up the last one but the next one will be better." only works so many times. Besides, GW has been getting their act together lately, especially with self-contained boardgames.

Rogue Stars has me putting together my Deadzone Rebs starter I've had on a shelf for two years now! And as I do, I've actually gotten excited about using them in DZ2. It's been a real shot in the arm for my interest in my misc Mantic Sci-Fi stuff.

I stuck with my Star Saga pledge despite being fairly leery about their responses to my questions about how they'll avoid another Adventurer's Companion debacle. Rogue Stars and the proposed Nameless DZ2 faction make me feel a bit more at ease. The terrain and minis should be useful, regardless of the quality of the game itself.

Do the forthcoming new Dreadball teams and all the existing Dreadball teams have profiles for the various aliens, robots etc in the new Warpath/Firefight and DZ2 rulebooks? The ability to use Dreadball models or proxies to represent a real variety of aliens on the table top would make those books more appealing to me than if they only have the current main factions.

There used to be an escort the VIP scenario in Deadzone where the VIP was a dreadball player, and they had different stats based on their playing position, but that doesn't seem to have survived into 2nd edition.

The new Yndij team could probably be used in a Rebs DZ team, along with the other alien overlaps, but otherwise you're just doing some pretty standard counts-as.

Just built the Enforcer jet that caused 10 pages of angst and drama earlier.

I will grab pictures later but I am happy to say there is no seam.
In fact it is a really well designed kit with a minamal amount of parts and which took about 5 minutes to build.

I'm sure someone will tell you you're still wrong

No doubt that certain someone will be along shortly

I think I'm getting that kit in my pledge. If it turns out to be fine once in hand, I'll gladly admit it.

Got my pledge, going through it now. And of course there's a fething great toy-like seam right down the middle of the model. No wonder SeanDrake never turned up later with photos.

Now, people are welcome to think that it's "no big deal" and I'll simply disagree and say that I think it's an unfortunate choice on an otherwise good looking model (nice flying stand, too!) - A horizontal split, angled along the lines of the model would have been much easier to cover up when built, but Maybe Mantic doesn't have access to non-completely-flat tooling at this point in time. However, that's a seam line and there's no getting around that, so I'll thank people here not to try to piss on my leg and tell me it's raining.

I will agree with him that it's a simple to build kit and doesn't suffer from wanting to be an overly-complex Tamya kit. The plastic infantry models look nice as well - Mantic have really upped their game there. Unfortunately, my invoice doesn't make sense though, with something crossed out and the quantity changed in pen. So I'll have to email them to clarify and ask them to fix it up. So fulfilment issues as usual, which is even more of a shame since the models are really quite nice. /sigh

Any seams, or lack thereof on mine will be pretty much unnoticeable once the undercoat is applied.

If anything is crossed out, then it's a case of, it's an item that's not arriving in that wave (EG, my hornet battlegroups and the mule in my GCPS battlegroup have been crossed out).

Quantities though, that's a bit odd, if it's made, it's made.

I got to see one of those Enforcer Interceptors yesterday that a friend had assembled. It looked really nice and I could barely seem any seam with under normal lighting (with my failing eyes).

One another note the Dreadball playtest material has been updated.

We now have playtest packet 5.1 and the Ultimate rules are available too.

Scraping the backside of a knife (or mould line remover if you have one of those) along that seam line would probably fill it in pretty nicely. I agree it's a shame they cut it that way.

There are 3 pieces (because you know lack of instructions) that I can't figure out what they are for on the "Interceptor". One looks like a landing skid and the other 2 looked like they were half of the same thing or meant to slide over something. Anyone know where those pieces go?

The only tricky parts are the 2 vents that need to be inserted in the wings if you see Compels picture the triangle detail pointing forward on the wing well just in front of that is where the vent goes you need to glue it place before gluing both parts of the wing together. The landing skid goes on the underside of the nose section the wing ends should not be glued and are rotated down to act as the rest of landing gear.

I dunno about the other parts you mention, unless maybe the optional missile launchers?

They go on the vertical sides at the top of the hull. - Imagine the back of them ends about an inch above Katana's head.

Oh, as a sidenote, they make great scenery pieces for skirmish games. - I imagine that it'd fit right in with Marvel, Batman and Infinity.

Oh, should mention, the Batman minis are 35mm scale, so if the interceptor looks a bit undersized, that's why.

It is a nice kit,

But 2 things bug me a little

The landing ramp wouldn't stay closed on mine (I magnetised it this evening to bug resolved)

The it seems a bit small for the enforcers, used to undersized vehicles so not a big bug but would have liked them to look like a enforcer could stand up in like the art where they are jumping out to het back.

Nothing game breaking but not the above take some of the shine off of it.

Ok landing skid makes sense, that was where I thought I remembered seeing it in a previous picture. Just wasn't seeing anything that indicated it went there, was expecting some recess or someplace it fit in like the other pieces.

This is the 2 pieces I'm refering too. They aren't the missile launchers or bombs.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Actually maybe these are the missile launchers you mentioned.. which are different than the bombs.
