Is that a FINGERPRINT?

That's either dangerously soft metal, you're Superman, or that's a typically shonky cast!

Well Done PB! Showing the backers they care by 'individualising your pre-order that's definitely not an order of any sort so we can't get in trouble for not supplying it by having one, some, or more of the models sporting wonderful random swirls and ridges in the material.'

It is getting so that it no longer amazes me how low I have to dig to find the bar on this project. Shame that DakkaDakka didn't have the copyright to this stuff. We'd have had the full game out, great rules, well designed miniatures, and would probably be working on the second or third expansion pack by now.

It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." I'm pretty sure other people have commented on fingerprints on the QR as well, or at least the other pewter LE figures.

I'd have to go digging, but I've definitely heard that exact complaint in the past.

You should consider yourself lucky. Where you have the 3d printing stepping on the back of you QRau, the resins and early metals have a giant blob of flash that needs to be cut and filed down. You just have to stay optimistic.

Definitely NOT fingerprints. Just the layer after layer print of the 3D printer that printed the model. Problem is PB throw it just so to GHQ, and neither of them took care to sand the 3D printed version of the original before doing the molds. So no we all have to sand them. (I really feel sorry for the ones that must do this manually >.< )

That's what happened, because all the other GHQ RRT models I got have not this layer marks.

Got a call from the printer. My cards are ready!

Pics soon!

Good job going into detail with cleaning up the models.
There are advantages to being a dentist.
I have something similar with my dremel tool.
Getting it perfectly smooth will pay dividends when trying to unstick the part.

Hmmm... getting the cards printed professionally.
You ARE hard-core.
Thinking of laminating them or just use card protectors?

Exciting to see progress.

Cool models Mike! Would love to see some primed at least to appreciate the details!

Talizvar, I will stick with my ultrapro protectors. Bought an oversized lot and some hundreds of regular ones. I had to cut by half the regulars to fit (perfectly) the squads support cards.
(The prints costed around 1.5 USD each, A3 sized and full colour. Way less than I thought. The paper is a cardboard used for presentation cards that require hq printing and colors )

Pics of the polishing process
Spoiler:

Damn, I see some layer marks in the pics that I did not see in the miniature xD

I just want to confirm that even the resin QRs have the stepping issue, it can be seen pretty clearly and it is absolutely telling that there was no prep work done before they started casting the 3d print.

Even at the time it was also evidence that a cheaper print service was used, they could have printed them at a resolution and with a process that it would have not been an issue at all.

The latest PBWU is up.

And despite two weeks ago, the following...
PBWU, June 17th wrote:Juggling a lot, including what’s next for Robotech® RPG Tactics™. It is definitely not forgotten or abandoned by Palladium. Things are boiling. More in a week or two. Much more to come.
There isn't even a copy paste of things heating up/boiling/whatever. Literally nothing regarding Tactics other than the boilerplate marketing crap.

Is ANYONE shocked?

Apparently the pot boiled over and spilled, all those irons in the fire became useless smelt, their ideas taking flight came crashing down... and the unicast fan tip might not have worked out because Prodos were equally as untrustworthy as Palladium. Of course that's all conjecture since we have no actual information of any merit for almost two years.

I just got a shipping notice for my Monster.

...from HLJ. It was $23 shipped and only three years late. Quite the bargain when it comes to Robotech.

PS: this is less a bragging post than a you-should-log-onto-HLJ-ASAP post.

That's pretty funny. After 3 years, do you still want it? Or are you no longer interested in anything Macross?

I totally still want it. Not because of Macross, though. It's just a big, cool robot, regardless of origin. Like the Invid mecha, it transcends the series for me.

I think I enjoy the idea of Robotech more than the reality of Robotech.

Nice, Bob.

For me, that's the novels. I enjoyed the show, but felt the novels really fleshed the setting out considerably, to a degree where they kind of blur together.

My notion of the series of cartoons is probably more powerful to me than the actual series itself, especially three decades later.

There are sequences I still enjoy to this day, but I'm not sure I could go back and watch the whole series over again.

Doesn't stop me from pondering getting a VT figure of some sort now and then for the desk to join my paired Normandys.

"I think I enjoy the idea of Robotech more than the reality of Robotech. "

This is probably the most relevant thing I have ever seen in print in regards to the state of the US macross/robotech fan.

I've been reading the novels and rewatching the series off and on and off again since receiving wave 1, and I seem to stall out in the same places in each medium. One of these days, I'll just have to learn to skip every scene with Rick and MinMei.

Well, Sunday in the US marks a tie for the longest period of time between two Kickstarter Updates, of 79 days (just over 11 weeks). The previous tie was just over 6 months ago, between Update 188 (October 7th, 2015) and Update 189 (December 12th, 2015).

Glad they "restarted" the conversation. Which was just over a year ago (June 8th). Which was also the time they promised Conventional Forces which should be out later that same month.

And to round things out, next Sunday will mark a year since Wayne promised "a big breakdown of where each and every component is in its development". Though to be fair, he did say "but that’s going to take some time". But I think most people thought that meant in terms of days, maybe weeks.

But backers haven't been forgotten about. Even though information has gotten more copypasta, or as per the latest PBWU, completely absent. Kevin said so.

Man, I so want to sign up to FB and take the username "NMI's Sock Puppet" just to look up the PB FB page and tell him some of the truths so he can ban his own sock puppet.

Counting the days.
I really should be seeing a much anticipated package soon.
Not the PB "soon" but the today or tomorrow it should arrive kind of soon.

The Armored Valkyrie is still being an issue.
My friend's printer seems to have a hate-on for it.

PB seems to have one laying around they're not using.

Though I doubt they'd see the humour in asking.

I would bet money it was "Wildcat Engineering Solutions: Mechanical Design Engineering + 3D Printing".
They were on display at the PB table at Anime North.
At the very least, they printed their models.
