Exodites? Oh yes! Really interesting to see what approach you take to them.

Love the highlights and palette on Hayley, amazing stuff. That base is stellar.

Thank you all very much for the comments and compliments. Glad to see them, especially Hayley, well-received. The excitement over the Exodites is encouraging, as well. Currently working on ice dancers, Zoat, the last two DW, and CAV. More to show soon.

Rollover pics.

Sweet work on the Deathwing Terminators, I’m pretty certain you used to be able to do cyclones and assault cannons on one Marine back on 2nd! The lens on the targeter looks great!

Haley is looking good too, her wrench-gun is unusual, but she’s rocking it! Just like she’s rocking the paint job, her armour has a nice high gloss effect.

The exodites sound interesting, there’s certainly a few sources of inspiration on here. You certainly have the kits to build them!

That is one OTT terminator. I approve.

Also, I'm excited to seeo your Exodites. I remember them being referenced, with army list entries and one piece of artwork, in the 2e Eldar codex, and then going completely unsupported for the entire time I was playing 40K (up to 6e). I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Now showing various models from the previously adandoned projects!

Painting total as of 3429/2024: 56 plus a Deva King statue
Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Thanks, you two! I am curious to see how it turns out, too. Took some time last night to gather up all the stuff I already had on hand that could be mined for Project:Exodus. Most of these are only missing a model or two, or the odd bit, as they were purchased primarily (and frivolously) for the purpose of maybe one day being turned into something else. For some of them, that day is rapidly approaching.

Currently have available:

Wyches
Scourges
Death Masque (Eldar half)
White Lion chariot
Witch Elves
Daemonettes (probably only for the odd head or hair piece)
Triumvirate of Ynnead
4 Lhamaeans of dubious casting quality
Dark Elf Sorceress
Shadowseer
various bits like a handful of Avengers/Guardians and what is left from the Wraithknight

Also have a Genestealer Magus that may come into play. Less sure about this one, but I threw it in, just in case.

To this, I added and am awaiting the arrival of:

Start Collecting: Eldar
Drakespawn knights
Carnosaur
Blood Bowl Wood Elves
Mistweaver Saih
Kurnoth Hunters x 2
Drycha

Will probably what until everything arrives to get started. Not sure how much new ground I will be breaking. Looking around online I have found that even ideas I thought were original are not, like putting a Farseer helmet on Saih. Oh, well.

Thanks again, everyone. Hope to have more to show soon.

I will join the choir to praise the paintjob on Hayley! Gorgeous model with a neat coat of paint to complement her.
I love the effect on the base, well executed.

Oh man, Exodites! Really excited to see what you get around making.
Seems you have a really good collection of bits and models for that project.

Seems like the bug really bit you. I know the feeling when you just "have to have all these bits and kits" for a big project and the ideas just keep on flowing and you end up buying a ton.
Happened a few times: first with the orky vehicles and now with Necromunda.

Maybe following this will motivate me to finally finish my Witch Elf Wyches that have been sitting unpainted for three years now.

Good luck on the project! As if you need any

That is quite some list of miniatures to form the basis of your Exodites. I did a google image search on them and there is some excellent work and ideas to be inspired (or if it were me just plain copy them) by. Mostly it looks like the old toy line I had in the late 80's called Dino Riders, and that is a good thing.

Sensible to wait for your new arrivals before getting started, but I am excited to see where this goes. Any ideas on your main colours for the Eldar and assorted reptiles?

For some reason I just love the idea of a hand held targeter being important for hightech scifi missiles, it's just too cool to care about being outdated

Great paintjobs too.

Anti-material rifle gunner means your pants literally get blown off you when you fire the gun . Nice work on the purple suit .

Those deathwing terminators are great, nice gritty color scheme to them.

DINO RIDERS! Thanks, guys!

I have been mulling over color schemes while I plan the conversions, and I know how some stuff will look, but the color scheme for the main troops is still undecided.

Trying to get some CAV quickly painted. I have a color scheme I like that is easy and quick to replicate. I look forward to seeing how it looks on the Pillager. Only a handful of models for this. Hope we like the game. At least I like the models, in case they wind up as shelf warmers.

Here we have an Obake and two Poltergeist tanks.

Ice Dancers are nearly done, Zoat in progress, more CAV prepped and ready to go, last Terminators. Always more in the works.

Thanks for looking!

CAV is new on me, but that is an awesome looking mech and future tanks. Really cool scheme, is it any particular named paints?

I also like the little hex plastic base protector thing, has it got an in game purpose?

Thank you!

ListenToMeWarriors, I don't know how much the base matters. I think it is for stability more than anything. The green is just a black basecoat drybrushed through GW's Dark Eldar greens. Incubi Darkness, Kabalite, Sybarite, and the dry one whose name I have forgotten at the moment.

The greens look amazing, especially if those are drybrushs. Wouldn't have thought one could get such nice results. I'm doing something wrong

I could’ve sworn they were metallic green, you’ve achieved a really nice effect with a simple recipe! That’s my kinda painting! I kinda want to see Zoat progress though, I opened mine today so need inspiration!

Thank you, everyone!

Zoat is in the mix. I have decided that instead of being the first Inq28 mini painted, he will be the first Exodite mini painted. I think he would be happier on the shelf with them. He will also be getting a feline companion he doesn't want. Quick progress pic. Thanks for looking!

Purple Zoat looking good - I like that tone for a base coat, like gobert I'd ask for the method. It's a very naturalistic purple, sort of like a pit viper.

Thanks, guys!

Yorkright! Good to see you, man.

The purple started out with a weird greyish purple sample I received from Reaper. Then it is drybrushed up with Rakarth Flesh, the next tone up from that (some bone/unbleached titanium color) and Pallid Wych Flesh. Then a thinned wash of Druuchi Violet. After I get all the black areas blocked in I will go back and push the value scale a bit with some highlights on the face and chest and some Contrast purples in the recesses. The belly is just Rakarth washed with Druuchi right now. I will hit some highpoints in visible areas for more contrast. Not Contrast. That's different. In the end he will be a modern version of J. Grimlock, the previous purple Zoat, just older and without his herd.

That mech colour scheme is really effective! The drybrushing works really well with all those hard edges. And very excited to see those Exodites

Good to see progress on the Zoat. And will he have to solve crimes with his feline frenemy?

Made in us
Walking Dead Wraithlord

Thanks for the comments!

Viterbi, I feel I am missing a reference there. He won't be solving crimes, at this point in his life he is really looking to avoid excitement. That probably won't work out.

Few things done. More CAV. A Pillager, the mech that made me choose Malvernis as a faction if we ever get around to playing, and quite possibly my favorite mech in the game. Plus a couple Banshee tanks. Just Eldar enough for me.

And I finished the Ice Dancers, which wraps up all the Malifaux icy-persuasion models I own. Nice to have them done, and to see them all together. Everybody sing! "LET IT GO! LET IT GOOOOOO!!!"

Just about this () close to finishing the Deathwing, Zoat still going, have the first three infantry bases for CAV done and awaiting varnish, probably try to get the Judiciar going and the rest of the CAV force set before the last box for the Exodites gets here. Could be late into September, as it had to come from outside the continent.

As always, thanks for looking!
