Small fleet of Snap Ships on their way, let's see what we get. If nothing else the kids will... actually they'll scowl and say they hate Star Wars and probably throw them.
Kids suck.
Sorry, where was I? Oh yes.
$4 plastic pipe toy. Thinking gunmetal spray paint then grey then brown ink.

Build your own drinking straw kits are great for smaller diameter pipes for dressing.

I just found some on AliExpress - search for 'Puzzle Block Pipes' and you'll get a bunch of variations and pack sizes. Just picked up a pack with a bunch of pipes and some nice looking cog wheels.

I got them from sooq.com in Egypt so not really an option for most.
Looking on Amazon I see similar products for $20-$30, more that the $5 I paid but not bad.

I've seen some of those build-your-own-drinking-straw kits in Tiger/Flying Tiger, if anybody's near one of those.
That place is a gold mine for weird terrain junk btw. They also frequently do hobby plaster and sometimes texture pastes, which are great to have.

Anyone need a rather cheap ($25) roughly O-gauge train?
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Adventure-Force-31-Piece-Remote-Control-Adventure-Railway-Train-Set/544124438
Could be good for some of those wild west wargames, or as in my case, rolled around in 40k bits and used for terrain.

That's a really great job with that train! Did think there was no way to make that work from the stock photo, but it fits right in with those modifications and paint job.

Ooh, have fun with those! They really are fun to put together! I wish my local Target had the big dropship one, but alas if I want it I'll probably have to order it.

So I built my first Snap Ship today. Literally 5 minutes from box to done. Bottom line, too small for 40k but great for 15mm or smaller and lots of potentially useful bits for conversions and scratch builds. They use a core of blocks that clip together and then you attach various wings, cockpits, engines and other accessories. The parts are pre-painted so within minutes you have a nice looking fighter about 5" long. And if you don't like that design you can pull it apart and have a different ship in minutes. I'll be trying the big dropship soon and then see if they can be bashed into something suitable for 40k.

These are for Lego minifigures (because Lego really needs MOAR DAKKA!) but may fit 28/32mm figs.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CHHD8VN/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4
$20 for 60 modern weapons.
I've used real world 1/32 weapons before and, despite being for a bigger scale, they still looked puny on a GW figure. I wonder it these thicker guns might look better.
Anyone tried?

Yeah I think the smaller of those two drums is meant to go on the AA-12, not both on the grenade launcher.

Yeah, I have a bunch of these that I have no idea where they came from... but they're far too large for minis. I hadn't even realised they were for lego, and had put them aside for the girls to use with their Star Wars figures.

Build the big drop ship last night, it is nice.
12" long and almost as wide with a Primaris level of guns tacked on.
There's even a little dune buggy that drops out of it at the touch of a button!
Unlike the others I can see this kit working with 28mm figures with just some minimal work. I'm thinking of canibilizing the dune buggy to make landing gear, removing some of the superfluous guns and making the center bay look more like a troop bay.
Though looking at it with a Taurox it might be big enough to hold a Rhino or Chimera...
There's some bits I don't like, the front engine pods are a bit too big and the attachement point not quite strong enough but that's easy to fix. I mean rebuilding the things is the whole point!
So for under $40, yeah, this is a good buy.

I dunno how interesting this would be to anyone who's not working on a space port table and in Egypt but...
The (AHEM) Space Union Parking Lot
https://www.mysilkway.com/ua/en/c/toys-hobbies-toy-vehicles/75cc3849-ab3f-4bc0-beba-f1f46f20ae40?currency=USD
A not~Helicarrier about a foot long (I estimate) big enough to carry some cargo crates or a tank or two on its deck and infantry in its hull.
And its companion, which is apparently also called the Parking Lot.
Available for $17 from Mysilkway.com (which I've never used and appears to be based in Ukraine and Azerbaijan) but also available from Souq.com if you happen to be in Egypt. If anyone sees a more accessible supplier let me know.
https://egypt.souq.com/eg-en/space-union-ship-toy-for-kids-multi-color-281918500024/u/
It also looks like there's a big 4 legged walked but I've not been able to find it yet.
