Is it just me, or does this stuff seem like it could very easily go the same way as 5th ed 'Herp-a-Durp Knights' went?

I mean, the very basics thus far are pretty much a complete junk shot to 'Nids & Orks, because those guys totally needed yet another swift nerf bat beating...

Oh mamma. It's looking more and more like I'm gonna build Deathwatch instead of Raven Guard. Upgrade sprue + BaC = Mk IV Deathwatch. Too bad it looks like no using the contemptor dread.

Just use it as a normal dread?

Yeah, but that's not the point I was making. Of course I can use the model, just won't be a contemptor

Probably will end up doing that if I really want to, invested in some scout squads for the RG and don't want those to go to waste, either.

The point was more "Special Ammunition Pistols" and the Dread thing was very much just a side comment.

I'm curious about that too. It's not "equipped with," it's "upgraded to," so it'll be a new ALE?

I can still remember when a box of 30 Space Marines was $30.00. Now THAT'S old school! In fact, I started playing in the Rogue Trader days...yes, I am that old. Played Warhammer Fantasy for years before Rogue Trader even came out...

I can't wait to see what the formations do. Return to us, oh glorious spanish savior!

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Eh, won't help you...

We had maybe 2 or 3 locals who'd still play their GK's back when they were the nearly unplayable Daemonhunters back in 5th, yet they sadly got lumped in with all the bandwagon hoppers and TFG's once Knights became the most OP filth in 5th ed.
Likewise, those of us who'd suffered with the original Daemons codex all through the edition of "screw Daemons!" are still looked upon with complete scorn and rank disgust because of the couple ***hats who won't run anything except re-rolled 2++ & clown car.

About the only thing to do is to just always make sure that if/when you take the cool new toys, you take it in moderation.
(ie: I only ever take 1 Malefic Tzherald in my Tzeentch Daemons & never take it on my Horrors, simply because summoning *anything* apparently is an automatic TFG move)

this is huge, especially if your format allows battle brothers boarding allied transports.

More questions.
1) do they have Apothecaries?
2) It shows Terminators as part of the Power Armored squad. Does the codex have this as an option to do, or is this more of an action shot(in the leaked pictures), or Special Characters(or just a sgt upgrade) that are attached to the squad?

Of course since Bikes are Very Bulky you'll only be able to carry four of them.

Which is another classic example of people getting excited over a rule without thinking it through.

And since it's a Flyer, it has to start in Reserve, so no BB's deploying in it (according to the soon-to-be official FAQ). You'd have to wait until it comes in, Hover with it to embark your Bikes. Best case scenario Turn 3 charging out of it. Bikes can do that already.

Unless formations in the book allow otherwise, that is.

Not worth getting too excited, or too negative about, until we have the full picture.

I displayed a tremendous amount of willpower by not preordering any DW stuff when I stopped by my FLGS at lunch today. I've just got too much I'm already working on. This will have to wait. Unless the formations are cool and have fun rules. Then my AoS Chaos army will have to wait to get painted.

Really eager to hear details about Death Masque. Any rules for the units inside? Unique formations? Does the box contain a game or special missions? Is Eldrad a member of the Harlequin faction?

Unless you're using Deathwatch Bikers.

Indeed. My post was trying to address both the Bikes comment and the Battle Bros comment at the same time. In either case (DW bikes, or BB bikes) 4 bikes is just too small a squad to be riding around in a Flyer. I'd rather have 10-12 dudes in there, maybe a few Temies
