I'd imagine people are calling them monopose because they are imagining (with what I would consider a reasonable degree of assumption) that the box will consist of two identical sprues, each composed of five monopose miniatures, based on the image.

Just realised this. There seems to be no inbuilt posability with the Tzaangor kit at all. That is a strange and dissapointing choice. I hacked apart the aos Tzaangors to make some more poses so it is doable, but I would rather gw give me the options on the sprue.

The whole "Ahriman taking matters into his own hands and turning most of his legions in to mindless, dusty automatons" thing.

Magnus exiled him from the planet of sorcerers after he did that.

Hmm, no codex in that release. I guess their army list and rules will be in Wrath of Magnus, like how Renegade Knights got their rules reprinted in Traitor's Hate?

Is Magnus still more powerful than Ahriman right now?

Ahriman fought on Prospero against Magnus wishes. He was all emo and was going to let everyone die.
Ahriman also cast the Rubric to protect his people, Magnus was pissed about what had become of them and blamed Ahriman.
Magnus wanted to kill him on the spot but Tzeentch stopped him.
But between the second Rubric and the things Ahriman has done including getting a foot in the black library, Magnus started seeing his worth again

Spoilered for spoilers

Spoiler:
Magnus was splintered into many pieces, some barely equal to human, others of power exceeding Ahriman, or at least comparable.

In the Black Library Ahriman trilogy, Ahriman tries to reverse the Rubric, taking him back to Prospero and ultimately to the Planet Of Sorcerors, and while he fails to undo the Rubric, he does allow Magnus to reunite. So, yes, at this point (assuming the trilogy is part of the timeline now) he's probably the most powerful non-deity in the galaxy.

That's not how it went down, and you're not familiar with spoilers are you?

(Seriously, I just whispered something to you, and you effectively jumped to your feet and shouted "MARY fethed STEVE??? at full volume. It's a good job you didn't actually get it right.)

I'm guessing you missed the books released previous to Wrath of Magnus.

Curse of the Wulfen advanced the fluff by bringing Wulfen in and making the Fenris system become a number of daemon worlds (and set up the events for Wrath of Magnus).
Traitor's Hate and its Blood Angel counterpart re-advanced the fluff about the 13th Black Crusade from "about to happen" to "it's happening".
They advanced the small bit of fluff about the Baal system being threatened by Tyranids in Leviathan and Exterminatus
They advanced the fluff about both the Tau and Raven Guard by killing off Aun'va (the most powerful of the the Tau Etherals) and the Raven Guard Chapter Master and promoted Shrike from 3rd Company Captain to Chapter Master Kayoun and Mont'ka.

They've been doing this for a while.

It is strange that two of the same tzaangor have Purple legs.

It's almost like they only kitted up and painted 5, took two pics of the 5 and put together.

Why would they paint the exactly the same?

A truly breath taking release.

The Rubrics and Terminators are a must have. I actually prefer the 30k Ahriman and will use him instead of the 40k one. The Sorcerers are good and I may get.

I just cant get over how amazing this release is! GW is smashing home runs lately.

They do not look that monopose to me. It looks like arms, torsos, legs and heads could be switched around creatively. I managed to make my necron warriors and immortals in distinct enough poses but I have not seen the sprue.

I still love em anyway!!

With better quality pics I see what your saying now. 5 sculpted plus 5 identical. Perhaps they only painted 5, took 2 pics and photoshopped them as one. Probably not.

They literally did exactly this. Look at the front left one and his twin back right. They have a stone in exactly the same place on the Base.
Very lazy. Maybe the kit will have more options than we can see, but as it stands it is the worst part of the release which is a shame as I actually love the minis.

When did humpty dumpty fall down in the first place? Is that newish fluff from the HH books? I've been out of the loop for a few years.

Also, are Tzaangors new? I don't recall hearing about them before?

Ahriman is pretty much perfect. Rubrics and Terminators have a lot going for them. But the Exalted Sorcerers are a big miss IMHO. Especially the one with the derpy feet flying around Pan Fo-style on a cloud of his own flatulence. Yuck.

Also, why are they all mutated? Didn't the Rubric stop that? Hopefully this is explained in the book and not just a retcon.

The Rubric stopped the uncontrolled mutations that were part of the geneseed for the Thousand Sons. It never explicitly states whether or not Thousand Sons can't be mutated via Gifts of the Gods or the like.

I mentioned this also but 2 have the same Purple legs and are in the same pose. They are the same model put on the box twice.

Taking a close look at the Rubric cannon it appears dual purpose. I think there is a nozzle within the beak on top for a flamer. Hot on the hand but cool.

Remember that the TSons also recruit sorcerers from other Warbands and Renegades.
Such sorcerers wouldn't be affected by the Rubric and as such would still be able to gain mutations.

He said he would return when its Wolf Time...well with Magnus leading another seige in Fenris...this could be it
