Pretty much. It wasn't the typical story I expected from GW. You know the kind. Things look bad, space marines show up, they fight to the bitter end and barely manage a win. Blah blah blah. This is why I loved Storm of Iron

Only briefly flicked thorough but...

Spoiler:
fenris is almost totaled and one of the other planets in system is destroyed by the wolves to deny it to chaos....but that was just as planned and Magnus used it as a sacrifice to bring the planet of sorcerors into the prospero system.

The wolves have been decimated there grand fleet now consists of a handfull of ships and the chapter makes the crimson fists look over sized.

As the wolves can only recruit from fenris thers is little hope of new recruits anytime soon.

The wolves denounce the 13th company to the imperium saying they have never seen them before and what missing company.

Santa wolf gets his axe and rounds up most of whats left of the wolves to go die at the eye.

Khorne pissses himself laughing as it is his literal axe that santa logan uses and it has not been cleaned turns out the wolves have been providing blood for the blood god for the whole time the axe was in use.

Oh and the Dark Angels misplaced an important prisoner... On an unrelated note at the eye someone is rallying all the fallen.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

To be fair, it's still on topic and as others have said, you don't have to click on the spoiler boxes. Most of the rules leaks have been posted elsewhere so you don't even need to follow the thread anymore. You're not a mod either so you don't exactly have any authority to tell others what to do.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Sorry if I came across as a bit authoritarian as I didn't mean to. By all means discuss the fluff, this isn't my thread and as you have said I am not a mod, but I was asking kindly if people might not post fluff without a spoiler tag or post about the fluff in the fluff thread. But as you have said you don't need to listen to me.

The overarching theme to 40k is the Imperium is losing. Every victory is ultimately small or Pyrrhic at best. You don't have to win all of the battles to win the war.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. Hard to tell tone from text so unfortunately I didn't catch any levity you may have intended in your posts. I'm fairly sure most people on this thread won't be posting any giant walls of spoiler text anyhow now that WoM is released.

Quick question.

To use "Traitor Legions" do I actually need Codex: Chaos Space Marines or can I get all the info I need in the TL book +/- Army Builder?

I really don't want to buy Codex:CSM if I can avoid it - given it is the POS that has kept me out of 40k for 10 years.

All the rules and statlines for the models are in CSM, TL only contains rules for the detachments and formations.

Hi All,

(I'm a first time poster, so please bear with me)

For the EC - does the 6+ FNP which goes up to 4+FNP with the icon apply to other forms of FNP? For example, I see there's a Slaanesh discipline spell which fives 4 FNP, so would this combine with the 6+ FNP to give a 3+FNP?

Probably unlikely, I know, but I thought I'd check (I'm guessing the 6+FNP rule probably specifically sates that it only works with the icon...?)

Thanks

Mallory.

I was also wondering about this. Probably not. But we'll have to wait for the specific wording of the rule. BOLS showed the Kakophoni Formation sheet in their review video and Verteranoob was dead on.

Probably not. Most FLGS have had their WoM stock since Friday, some Thursday, so the painter's had at least 2 days.

Actually the woman who painted it (employee at GW Gothenburg) said she did it in 6-7 hours,

Well, this is a review with book in-hand.
units w/VotLW have FnP6, if they have icon it's FnP4 (also fearless). The spell delightflu anguish gives FnP4 to a unit within 12". So you can give to a unit without FnP or withot an icon. But only way I see immediately to get FnP3 is if your warlord gets a 3: Nexus of Debauchery where he and his unt add 1 to FnP rolls, where a unit either with VotLW & icon 4+ or a unit currently under the spell for that one turn. Make sense?

Get VeteranNoob,

Is there any clarification for how the Warpbreacher relic for Iron Warriors works? Because paying to give Possession to a vehicle seems...pointless?

What does the death guard "Dolorus knell" relic do exactly?
And is the terminator annihilation force formation black legion only, or can any legion take it?

Hence why my Death Guard army is quickly becoming a pair of Terminator Annihilation Forces if I want to mono-Legion, or if I duo-Legion I'll take a Thousand Sons War Cabal and a Renegade Knight.

So wait...if I'm reading it correctly, it's granting the upgrade each and every turn, and it doesn't stop being possessed at the end of the next turn?

Ok, I admit that sounds kind of cute if a little pointless. It really would have been nice if it granted Power of the Machine Spirit, but alas...

I guess you could use it on a Havoc Launcher Rhino for if you want it to make emergency repairs with Cultists snacks I guess, or to Possess stuff that normally can't be (Helbrutes), but again, why?

Yes, Tank Hunters is nice, and Formation Auxiliaries rock...but it looks like they got shafted on Relics.

Also, damn shame that even with rerolls to scatter, Defilers ain't worth it.

Can a Daemon Prince take the Fleshmetal Exoskeleton?

So, with how it is written, it seems the effect lasts for the remainder of the battle as it has no time limit on the effect. So it would take 2 turns for the relic to pay for itself from the cost of the upgrades it is giving out. Warpsmith moving up behind Vindicators giving out daemonic possession to them over the course of the turns they're moving up the board?

'Course that means you have to buy the warpsmith, but if the formation already includes one and you're taking 2 or more vehicles which will benefit from a good chance of ignoring crew shaken and stunned results (such as 3 Vindi's to ensure they can do the combine fire into huge blast thing) then it could be worth 25 points.
