Interesting it's a "Sold Out" rather than "Out of Stock". Along with the joke box in the studio video it might be something.

Not this again. What you wish would happen is neither news, nor rumor and beating this long dead horse is far off topic.

Thunderhawk will be back in a few days. The same happened to Eldar Hornet. Probably they are just repacking it into card box instead of bags.
Still an odd way to mark it.

It's pretty hardcore trolling to have the Thunderhawk go "sold out" at the same time as they trolled a plastic thunderhawk in their troll video.

Of course I think GW are trolling, but how funny would it be if a plastic TH did pop up now

Not that I play bloodbowl, but is anyone else just sick of GW making so many of their models precariously balanced just to be fancy or show off sculpting? Like seriously, why does every model have to be perched up on a rock or, in this case, somehow balancing on their hair... Give me dynamic but reasonable posing!

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but models designed like the two red-heads dwarves seem to be so overdone by GW in the past 2-3 years.

It's slowly getting more superficial.* More focus put into achieving that hairwalking pose, repeated across every new BB slayer, than on the fact the model's shoulder looks like a lump of spam with a bat-wing membrane attached to it.

* Or, looking at dwarfs in other GW games, quickly getting more superficial.

You could easily snip that extra bit of hair off and have them standing on the ground.
I will agree that this has been the case with a lot of GW releases recently but almost all of them can easily be reposed.

They look great but they're horribly underpowered compaired to other Custodies choices.

Heavy bolters are a mark of shame in 30k when soooooo many other weapons are better- good luck doing much of anything with them. And seriously, one simply doesn't protect the Emperor with a heavy bolter.... and there aren't' enough zap shots to make it worth it.

Those rules look pretty tasty against some of the xenos forces out there though (would be brutal against Orks and Tyranids). Whilst xenos don't really feature much in 30k, perhaps the weaponry carried by these Custodes is a hold-over from the Great Crusade. Would also shred Militia and Solar auxilia.

They're still mobile and have that second firing mode that kills things dead. I don't think they're as bad as you think they are.

Exalted I agree, they can be usually pretty easily reposed. But I'm glad I'm not in the minority here.

Anyways, back on topic, those custodes look really great. Idc about their weapons. The models themselves look deadly!

They aren't mobile: Heavy weapon and no relentless. Secondary fire is a good weapon, but with a 12 inch range and you can take a troops Custodes with the same gun built into their spear for the same price. At such close range, being able to charge after or fight a countercharge is important.

Being bad for a Custodes unit would be fine in the context of how good Custodes are, except for one key detail: Your model count is so low that you can't -afford- to have dead weight.

Not sure why they didn't just make the Bolter Custodes as a plastic half sprue.

The Jetbikes are nice.

Shame the 40k rules for Custodes are so boring.

Pretty, but still odd that they specifically have power lances rather than Guardian Spears. At least the spears would make the Sweeping Fire rule useful. Eh, you don't use these guy for the spears/lances anyway, you use them for the beautiful las weapon.

I get the strong impression the las weapon is their weakest option, given the large upgrade cost and questionable reliability of rolling a D3 for shot number.

Alternately you have much needed in this army volume of fire at AP3 (backed by maneuverability and charging with more AP3) or shorter ranged but you're on a jetbike two shots with instant death and armourbane for 20 points per model less than the las. Even against vehicles, Armourbane makes your average penetration roll the same -and- a little more reliable because it's on two dice so skews to 7. Only thing it's really weaker against is super high toughness things with eternal warrior.
