Krieg! What a hole...

That and alternative rules for running Elysians or the Death Korps when playing IG. Or even their own thing, SWA seems to be on a small enough scale that differences like the DKoK lasgun packing more punch than the Cadian one and other small things like that that wouldn't fit in a standard Warhammer game.

I doubt they'd fiddle with the lasguns, if you want to pack more punch, you will have to take a hotshot powerpack, which is about as far as it goes.

I didn't think DK operated at a skirmish level? I guess there are quite a few that don't particularly fit, but Elysians do way more than the Korps.

Even Krieg needs recon. There are a few instances in the Vraks book IIRC of small teams probing each others front lines in the trench fighting, trying to find weaknesses that can be exploited by a larger assault.

Ah hades drills, i remember when they were once considered possibly one of the most OP choices for DKK. Good times.

DKoK infantry platoon, Infantry Squad Advancing, Heavy Bolter Team 3, and Mortar Team 3 are currently all "Sold Out".
Thank you, Guard thread people, for bringing this to my attention.

Oh FFS, seriously? This had better be for some mold repairs...

Anyway, it's friday morning, time for some new stuff. First up, space marines for your blood bowl games:

And for your 30k needs, some psychic space marines:

They will be back, they unexpectedly sold loads of these over the past week or so since that shadow war game game out and they advertised the DKOK as a kill team.

Not too sure what I think about those bright crusaders bits though, they do look decent, but they dont really look that much different to warrant playing that sort of money for, in my opinion anyway.

Peregrine: that's some funny looking BB space marines you got there
Look more like normal reavers with a new chest plate and head.

Either way, they don't look too bad to be fair.

The robots on the other hand, I love.
Shame I don't play thousand sons really.

Edit: anyone know FWs reasoning for discounts?
Custodes jetbikes: £33 each or 3 for £90 (saves £9)
New castellax: £40 each or £200 for 5 (No saving)

Makes no sense why they discount some but not other.

I normally really like FW big stompy stuff, but those robots look completely pants to me. No thanks.

Cables on Aetherflame Castellax look way too big, imo. Else it's a sweet looking robot.

The human bb team - shame they don't put the upgrade parts separately. The heads could, maybe, make for more interesting conversions for sigmarines or guarsmen.

That paint job on the Blood Bowl guys makes me upset for whatever reason.

Love the psychic robots, almost Mechanicum enough to forgive FoC being delayed.

Lol, no.

Right? It is weirdly cartoonish. Way more than normal. Like they are evoking the video game look or something.

Two more DKoK kits (heavy bolter team 3, heavy stubber team 1), along with the Elysian Command Squad are sold out.

I think you've said so before, but my opinion is still that I like it

In the end the models come unpainted so they're going to look as crap as I paint them myself anyway

Nah, it's too unrealistic for a video game. It looks like the artists were told to NMM everything, including skin.

They've tried to paint 'true metallic metal' but done it quite badly.
There are some better examples of the method elsewhere online.

Jakal, you are correct, its a just new parts on the plastics.
The resin torsos and heads are also a seperate kit and come with a pair of counters. Similar to the Custodes, you can either buy the whole bundle from FW or just get the upgrade parts seperately.

The castellax are rather beautiful though.

On a side note, where/when did they offer DKOK as a kill team?

As much as I cynically half-joked about Guard being Squat'ed post Fall of Cadia...Ehhhhhhhh.

In all seriousness, I hope their mold just went belly up and they're replacing them with more poses, or they realised that £73 for a box of twenty upfront is visually 'off putting' and they're splinting them into ten like they do Storm Sections. The Solar Auxilia and Mechanicus are such interesting forces because they're non-Space Marine armies in the Space Marine game.

Edit: Now that I think about it, didn't they say at the Weekender they'd be doing more Solar Auxilia and Militia releases in the future?

No, I believe they said they'd be making more Legion Auxilia and Marine releases. Easy mistake to make, really

Something about the crystal matrix that psykers can charge up like a battery.

They're made specifically for the Thousand Sons by Zhao-Arkhad, the forgeworld that they have a close relationship to. Rather than the normal control circuitry and cortex controllers, they have crystals grown in the caverns underneath Tizca that TS librarians can use in a similar manner, in order to coordinate their actions.

In game, they are under the TS player's complete control as long as there is a psychic unit within 24" of them, they can take damage if a psyker takes perils within 12", and they can be used by any TS psyker within 12" as the point of origin for maledictions and witchfires.
