Thank you,Volkmane85, for sharing your conversation Very much appreciated. Also interesting that they had heard about 8th a year ago

No problem.

GW runs about 2 years ahead of itself though obviously not all sections of development know what the others are doing.

Afternoon all,

Before I begin please don't assume that just because this is a new account that what you are about to read is false (I can't remember the password/email of my old account so I've made a new one). While what I've typed out below might be slightly adjusted due to memory it is all true.

Yesterday I visited Warhammer World as a treat for myself as it was my 32nd Birthday. Late in the evening a group of guys (who I am guessing were mostly Games Workshop staff) started playing an old game that GW used to make (I believe it was called Wastelander and used a mixture of rules). I started chatting to one of the guys and at the time I didn't realise I was talking to Andy Hoare himself. At some point in the evening I mentioned the ongoing theories behind why Cyraxus has been delayed and after hearing them he laughed and told me the actual reason.

It is all Andy Hoare's fault.

He was given the task of writing the first draft of the book and after he finished it (or around the time) he became the Manager for Specialist Games. Due to this the second draft was passed onto Alan Bligh who at the time was busy writing Inferno and as you can imagine there would naturally be delays in the second draft being completed. Add to this the fact that Alan Bligh has been ill for some time (I was told this by a member of Forge World Customer Service, something which Andy Hoare said shouldn't have happened). Then about a year ago they heard about 8th and so the delays for it to be completed kept piling on.

He agreed with me that it would not be surprising if Fire of Cyraxus became the first 8th edition IA book which most likely would delay it even further.

While also talking to Andy Hoare he told me (in not too great a detail) of how the Red Scorpions Lord Commander got himself interred in a Leviathan Dreadnought. Apparently when explaining to fellow staff members at Forge World he would say that he wasn't so much as placed into the Leviathan, more like being poured from a big bucket. Also the twin-linked Assault Cannon he is armed with is a Relic with some fancy rules.

So, we finally have the answer.

New FW model of Red Scorpion Apothecary with big bucket confirmed! I can't get the picture of a Apothecary and a Techmarine dumping him into a Dread and the conversation they would have out of my head now, thanks

Yay news that it's basically even more delayed. A man can dream that it will release this year. Thanks for the info all the same.

Well if it isn't coming this year then I guess that takes some pressure off of me since I would have needed to buy it and all the other cool stuff coming out and the budget can only take so much. A user on ATT has said the Tau should be getting one or two (possibly more) models this year. This news was from a month or two back. So the big quesiton is will they release them in advance of the book knowing how delayed it is? Or will they just wait until the book is closer to completion? I mean until 8th drops in June like rumored I don't think we'll see anything on Fyraxus and if we do no rules for sure.

They will be back, they are selling more than they thought they would due to the shadow war kill teams they have been advertising.

Yeah. It seems that the whole "SOLD OUT: No Longer Available" label isn't etched in stone. The Valkyrie Sky Talon and Solar Auxilia Basilisk/Medusa platform are back in stock.

But all of the current 40k books are now on the "Last Chance To Buy" list. Hopefully, they'll be back at some point updated to 8th Edition standards.

Likely not. We've already seen the new Tigershark model, so that leaves only one more unknown release. And it's a reasonably safe bet that the first new 40k book in a long time is going to have at least one new release to go with it, besides updated rules/models for existing units.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

For leviathan Culln, we need an Apothecary with bucket and a Techmarine with funnel.

The Thousand Sons dread is pretty nice, except for the sword-fist.

Sadly, not to be.

Re-position the arms so it's shooting at something instead of saying "Come at me, bro" and it'll look a lot better.

Believe me, that look was a thing in 40K LONG before the Warjacks were around.

It actually might have been a look before the people who made warjacks were even born.

I do like that Dreadnought, it certainly does bring back memories of the Terminator armour, doesn't seem to be any reason why we wouldn't see matching Terminators though, isn't the Contemptor dread meant to be side by side with the Tartaros terminators? therefore we can look forward to harassing FW until this becomes a reality and we have both!
