A very cool model Gulgud, great work.

Hope the glue works out on the wheels Guildernstern, (A layer of PVA might have worked as well since that should form a hard barrier when dry)

I knew Feb would be a pain as a month so went for something small and now its finished. Good timing too since I think my PC's graphics card has just died so posting this in safe mode with a very weird looking screen (loads of flickering lines on it)

My Snotling Looted Plasma Cannon. My first real attempt at OSL, Some bits worked well, a 1 or 2 areas were it could have gone better.

Off to fix my PC now.

That's just brilliant! Those guys are going above and beyond to kontribute to da WAAAAGH!

I wasn't entirely happy with my entry in hindsight, so I reworked a few bits earlier. His face has been redone, I kicked the intensity of the purple armour up a bit and most noticably swapped out his makeshift Phoenix Spear for a Chainsword. Not as thematic for the EC, but I think it suits the overall composition better and gets across that this guy isn't necessarily a frontline fighter, so doesn't have the best combat gear.

Got my entry for next month on the way as well, and I think it's going to be something quite special. A model I've had my eye on for a while and just happened to get an amazing deal on in Swap Shop. Dead excited to get going on that come March.

Looks good @Para. Both purple and face stand out more now.

Not sure what I'm doing next month. I've got some RT marines recently converted to sternguard, some old metal terminators and a bunch of bikes. They all need painting, just not sure what to enter for the comp.

@Paradigm

Looks suitable grimdark, in a good way.

May I make a small queery?
The entry I was going to do for this month is still waiting to arrive, so I wonder if I could perhaps enter it for next month? I only ask because I have already started making/putting together/painting the bits I am going to use to convert my entry.

Shouldn't be a problem so long as the bit you're waiting on is the main chunk of the entry.

Final Jesse James pics.

Apologies if the pics are too big. I've been experimenting with trying to get them to appear at a size that is a compromise between being too big and losing all the detail when you zoom in. I still think the "recommended size" option in the upload menu is far too small. These might be too big though - let me know if you think so, and I will continue to experiment next month. If you check my gallery there are several different sizes of the same images as I was trying to see what worked best on the page. How do you delete images from your gallery, by the way?

Anyway, I'm really pleased with how the miniature turned out. I was worried that it wouldn't look right when I glued it all together, but the contrast of the metal arms against the leather coat works well, and the whole thing looks good enough when taken as a whole.

@feltmonkey - Jesse looks great! You're right about the metal arm contrasting - it was the first detail to jump out at me. Then my eye was drawn to all the little details that really make this model stand out. Great stuff!

Just don't ask what happens on the snotling carriers hands if they are too close to the end when the weapons fired
Your right, your final entry is more in keeping with the style of the model, (thought the blade did look cool).

FeltMonkey that's amazing, I love the textured look you have got on the coat.

probably preferable to being shot through a shokk attack gun, through the warp , going mad, for who knows how long, and reamerging into realspace inside an enemy...or just being used as squig bait...or an ork snack...or a football...or...yeah, snotlings have a tough life

Good news: ZoBo's a genius! The super glue on the wheels appears to have worked <knocks on wood>

And I'm done painting, but not weathering. Trying to finish before tomorrow!

I finished my Deffkopta, but the photos have turned out with this undesirable red tint. I used the same lights as before in a WIP photo, but could the addition of natural daylight from the window behind me cause that much difference?

In case I can't get any better photos in time, consider this my completed entry. If anyone better at using a camera than me (most people) could explain what happened, please do share.

Cutting it close, but I've only got a few classes today, and with the amnesty, think I might just make it.

Diggity... that was fast.

I think I'm going to need the amnesty this time around... I'm pretty close to done, but I'm really not painting fast at all.

Does your camera have auto white balance? I think the you are right that the red cast is light reflecting off something. The last photo seems to be the best one, color balance wise, but you are holding the camera too close, hence parts of the model out of focus.

Hi all,

really nice entries this month, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the WIP piccies. Your Jesse James looks fantastic feltmonkey and I love Midgets very thematic snotling plasma cannon team. That mega amour big mek by daisey is right up my street great work very nice conversion and the scratchbuilt trukk by Guildenstern is very cool, a lot of work well done!

After a few months of painting a more cartoon-y style with my SDE I really enjoyed going back to painting something a little more weathered.

I've spent every spare minute I had this month trying to get this completed (wife, job, kids etc don't give me as much time as I'd like!) and I still had to rush a bit at the end. There are a few things I need to tidy up and redo in the next few evenings so please excuse any rough edges =).
