Yeah he looks badass, like the Kal Jericho of the Mortal Realms! I would love a mini like that.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

The problem is he would probably replace the Gunmaster, and who knows what rules we will be missing out on then.
I have not forgotten how the "Gunmaster" replaced the first AoS "Empire master engineer" and suddenly we cant make pidgeon bombs!

Pidgeons no longer exist on any of the new Realms.

They went extinct because people kept strapping bombs to them.

You can still use the old, post release rules, IIRC. So pidgeon bombs are still viable.

From Facebook:

Vandus Hammerhand and Khorgos Khul are two of the greatest warlords of the Mortal Realms - their conquests are equaled only by their bitter rivalry and hatred for each other.

Soon, these iconic heroes will not only be available separate from the main Warhammer Age of Sigmar game, but they will get their very own dedicated Warscrolls just as such epic heroes deserve.

I wonder if anything else in the starter set will get a separate release like the Khorgorath or Lord-Relictor

Well, time for me to finally get the model of Vandus Hammerhand off Ebay for 15 bucks before GW releases the same model alone for $35 or more!

I'm happy that they get their own warscrolls. I know their characters representing generic models but for such key figures its nice to see them get some special rules of their own. Especially since they've both gotten an upgrade at this point.

Huh. I do wonder if vandus and Khorgos will be given the keywords: lost celestant on dracoth and mighty lord of khorne. Just adding those would make them available for plenty of batallions, specially Khul's own goretide.

It will be interesting to see how they differ from there generic versions. Does this herald the start of separate releases for the rest of the starter set characters? Or is it because Vandus and Khul are not in the Thunder and Blood box?

I'm fairly sure to bet that they are gonna be released alone because the new Starter-Box little don't has them.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Ouch that looks like a bit of a price bump given it's currently £75 for those same 44 models + the three being sold separately (Well the two Bloodbourne models are together). If they're pricing the Thunder and Blood box at ~£50 then you are probably looking at £100 for the same models.

I'm interested to see what terrain piece their talking about there. If it's one of the existing AoS terrain pieces it may actually be a pretty good deal.

Yeah, you're probably right, but it sure is written strangely. It says "a reversible tray that can be used as scenery. It also includes...a scenery piece." Not sure why they would list off those things that way, but after reading it again I'm thinking I agree with you and they just listed the tray and the gaming mat twice.

The scenery is a cardboard box.

GW showed it some months ago.

I'm from the future. The future of space

I was just looking for a kit to be the basis for converting some priests and other characters for both AoS and 40k and saw the Freeguild Archers and was like "these will be perfect" and then "temporarily not available." The flagellants are an option but they're just a bit too under dressed for my liking. To much like the catachans and chaos marauders.

I really do hope they come back at the same price but with 25mm round bases in new packaging.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Well I find the special character scrolls to be less than I hoped for but about what I expected. They do a solid job of being the generic-version-but-better rule wise but don't feel particularly representative of the characters in question. Also, I chuckled that GW put the old Bloodsecrator scroll up instead of the updated one. That'll cause confusion.

That intro box is actually pretty cool. Smaller version of the original, but still.

It's a truly amazing starter set in my opinion. Everything in mind with the young hobbyist with a double sided mat and building to really set their imagination on fire.

I myself am tempted to get this, just to feel like I am 10 again! Haha

It's smaller and therefore cheaper so easier to pull in new players will

(with the bonus that they'll start buying more expensive stuff sooner)

no idea whether the old starter is going away though

Best way to get into the hobby is the Island of Blood set. Or call it Spire of Dawn.... For some misterious reason its a bestseller still.

Because it's basically the only way to get all of the Elf models included within and a great value on the Skaven stuff.
