Subject: RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED AND TON OF NEW PRODUCTS!
Everything I have seen shows $160 for the boxed set and $80 for the rulebook. Maybe the people getting that info were looking at AU/NZ dollars?
Everything I've seen says 95 British Pounds for the starter set and 35 for the rulebook. That's a pretty big difference if the sources you're referring to are talking about USD.
On the other hand, these are all unsubstantiated rumors, so it could be that all of us are wrong.
Sniped by the good person above.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Man, the starter set is about $125 in the UK, $140 in the EU and $160 in the US? What gives.
It did come from Spikey Bits, so could just be incorrect info.

I will buy the box set and trade/sell away the Eye sore army.
this is always the case with starter sets, the faction in the starter that is not space marines gets sold at a discount all over. also people will be splitting boxes up for ebay so I will be surprised if we do not see the rulebooks for a good 30-50% markdown there brand new and pulled straight from the box.

I'm curious what the digital prices will be for the compendiums and what kind of release schedule there will be for faction-specific codexes. I might get everything, or I might only get digital versions of a few things, it kind of depends on further information coming out.
Also, I'd be curious to see if the "traditional" codexes get skipped for very specific codexes. We can already see that there's a Death Guard book. Maybe there will never be a "normal" CSM codex and instead we'll get one for each of the legions plus maybe a Renegade CSM book. If that's the case, some units might only appear in the Chaos compendium.

I'm really hoping they don't do that. I don't want to have 10 books just for chaos marines alone. If they want to have different legion playstyles they can do something like they did with the Traitor Legion supplement

My guess (and hope as well!) is that GW will have the Chaos Marines book for everything. There isn't a decent comparison to Age of Sigmar for this, as each army is broken up by Faction. But 40K is a bigger game with more years and units behind it. It is possible we may see a Codex for each army, though I don't see a precedent for it. Basing off of the recent Kharadron Overlords book, there are plenty of opportunities to have the Legion/Chapter Tactics have just a couple pages of rules, and with Death Guard unlocking Plague Marines as Troops over regular Chaos Marines. THAT is my guess (and hope!).
The thing is, will we see the same for Space Marines? Are we going to get a separate Codex for each main flavor of Astartes? Wolves? Dark and Blood Angels? Vanilla? How would Grey Knights get counted in on all of this? (Speaking of which, are they counted as Astartes or Imperium for the Index books?)
Time will tell...

Because this needs to be posted on every page, Primaris marines can be made from existing marines. It's entirely possible for any normal Marine or Character to become a Primaris.

The entire second company is already Primaris, I assume the entire Chapter is by now.
AND yeah I saw someone mention the Plague marines, how busy they look. I really don't like them at all... as miniatures they look good, each one being a character of sorts, but together as an army it looks like a mess.. I blame the paint style, players should be able to give them a more uniform look and dull it down.

Not a fan of the jump pack numarines.
The pack doesn't look right.
l like the new helmet. They look more aggressive, and there's a slight touch of templar knight.
EMPEROR VULT
I do find it disconcerting how there are only numarines in the box though. This to me implies that they will phase out the older kits, leaving only the new ones.
At least there are different rules for the older marines, I guess.

Grey Knights are in the Marine book. And I see they may have an individual book for those marine chapters(even though they don't need to) but even then I doubt they are gonna make codex for every loyalist legion army. That would just be way too many codexes. I'm hoping they do it like the Kharadon overlords, and just have a few pages of rules dedicated to each legion in one big book

Love the deathguard models even though I'll never be playing chaos; they have a lot of character. Not a huge fan of the primaria marines, but I might snag the captain if I can get him for cheap off of a bits site.
I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.

Well excuse me, but I have not seen it posted anywhere I have been looking nor the explanation. Sorry to offend friend, thanks for the explanation. Still think unhelmeted models look meh and hope they have the options for all helms in the standard kit!

I'm on board with that, they look horrendous. I like the rest of the set a lot, though.
That's cause the jump pack ISN'T a jump pack.
Let's take a close look at the model
Spoiler:
take a look at the feet of those minis their feet are clearly on some brackets, which might be good for keeping feet locked into position etc, but they'd be a pain to walk on etc. then take a look at how they're based, notice they're on a flier stand (as opposed to assault marines whom useally are depicted landing or jumping) those are jump pack Marines. those are JET PACK Marines.
Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

That's why they don't have chainswords. Cause they aren't gonna be in cc range

and like Tau crisis suits they'll proably be able to swiftly move out of CC if they get in it. which raises the obvious question, where and what are the Primairs assault unit? I can't imagine them not having one,

I don't think we'll need to buy ten different books to play CSM. I'd be surprised if they didn't include rules for Plague Marines in Index: Chaos. Since they do have a pretty focused faction book for Deathguard, what I'm wondering about is if they'll come out with a CSM codex that tries to cover most everything or if that will be the permanent role of Index: Chaos.
I guess the main thing I'm wondering is are the Index books are supposed to stick around and be a useful resource indefinitely, or are they're just a temporary measure to get us by? They'll definitely be coming out with new books, but I'm not sure if they'll render the Indexes irrelevant or if the Indexes will still be the core of a faction's rules. That makes a difference on how much money I'll spend on them. I'm not sure if I'm making any sense.

Hmm, interesting observations. I did notice the foot braces but it didn't occur to me that these could be something other than jump infantry like we've seen before. That certainly does make them more interesting, but does not make them look any better

I get you. I think all the info in them will be relevant, but more specialized stuff will get their own codexes, but these indexes will be a good place to get general info on an army. I for one like the idea of indexes for certain factions. It makes sense to have all the marines in one big book together, as it does for chaos and eldar too.
