I imagine Hellblasters might end up being like HH Support Squads - rather than just having the Plasma weapons they'll also be able to all (and only all) swap out for things like a new flamer, or new meltagun, etc.

The PRIMARCH of the Ultramarines is alive, in fact the only Primarch confirmed concious in the 41st millennium.
It wouldn't even make sense from a marketing perspective to focus on anyone other then Ultramarines. Blame Sanguinus, Ferrus and Dorn for being dead and the others for wandering into alternate dimensions and getting lost.
Nah, I think I'll blame GW for being clinically moronic enough to bring any Primarchs back at all
As to the preorders, dat Libby:
100% sold on him. The bionic third-eye is genius, the pose is great, and looking at the sprue it seems the apparent oversized'ness of the head is an optical trick afterall. Even better, since most of him is covered by the robe, it'll take me very little effort to turn him into a truescale marine in a proper mark of armour

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Oh those two guys look great. Its a shame about the lack of weapon options. But its IMO more than made up for by both having a helmeted head option and both shoulder pads being swappable.

as much as I would love this to be the case I can't shake the feeling that the Hellblasters are going to be a dual kit with the Intercessors and can't see a kit having enough Boltrifles and Plasmarifles for everyone and Flamerifles/Meltarifles. still one can only hope and the firewarriors kit comes with enough guns for all members to have any of three weapon options

The price on these two characters is crackers. GW do put out some of the best models around - no doubts about it. But those prices are crazy. I know we can't get old pricing back, and whinging about it online gets you no where, but when I think back on my first metal blister character (a Terminator Librarian in 1997) was $12 AUS, and the Space Marine multi part Commander was $26 AUS some years later (2008-ish), and then these come along at $60 AUS each (the price of the plastic Land Raider when that was released in 1998/99), or bundled for $120 AUS (the price of my first Space Marine Battleforce), I wonder where it all went so pear shaped. No argument about cutting edge detail, technology improvements, inflation, only needing one or other gumpf will convince me that pricing characters at that point is a smart idea. How do you go from pricing on the Start Collecting boxes getting so much right, to this. I'm at a loss.
Those damn monkeys keep stealing my saving throws

I don't know if this was pointed out, but Deathwatch Primaris Marines were confirmed in the rules for these characters. Perhaps we will see rules for a Deathwatch Primaris Kill Team in the future.
Also, the Captain's two weapon options appear to be the Stalker Bolt Rifle (the one with the scope) and an Auto Bolt Rifle. Weird that there is no option for just a plain Bolt Rifle.

Came in here to write exactly this. I could accept the Dominus Tech Priest at this price point, because it's almost more like a monstrous creature than a character, but these guys? Yeah, looking at the "bundle" price makes my eyes water, and it takes a lot for me to react to GW pricing. They're as much as a start collecting box for petes sake!

I really don't like the captain's stance - it looks like he's tip-toeing or about to break out into a waltz...
Check out my gallery here Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Librarian looks cool, but great call on the Tylos call there Daemon. No wonder I like it!
Would be really nice if GW could get creative with the Captain's though. Seems everything is either like Captain Centos or the Space Marine Commander/Captain sprues. They love that side pose with sword or gun extended. Really weird.

I guess this pricing model is the future for GW's new model lines? I shudder to think of any new stuff coming out.

I don't know...this was an issue with the initial Age of Sigmar character releases(Stormcast, Bloodbound, and Fyreslayers all had these excessive prices for characters and nobody could really figure out why).
I think we'll be able to say for certain once we see the Death Guard character prices.

Eh... I'm with HBMC, it's really not a 'choice of weapons' but a 'choice of accessories' if they have differing rules that's great but calling it a weapon option is a bit disingenuous.

It's two different weapons using the same body. It's like how the Tactical and Devastator Marine kits let you build a Combi-Weapon.

Hopefully there will be a more meaningful difference between the two ruleswise than the difference between the Stalker Boltgun and Boltgun (+6 range...and that's it. It should have the sniper rules added on). If the Stalker Bolt Rifle is a Sniper type weapon, and it is Master-crafted so it does two wounds per shot, that would be nuts.

Being honest here, I'm not sure why this is being called a "Stalker Bolt Rifle". It doesn't have the hallmark "stub" that they gave the Stalker Boltgun's barrel.

I almost spat my drink out at those prices. Granted, the character clampacks have been absurdly pricey even by GW standards since AoS launched, but that's pretty damn crazy.
Then again they're Space Marines and GW know they'll be lapped up like sugar so it's not as if they had any reason not to.

I imagine that it has to do with the scope, but yeah, no special barrel, no Stalker Bolt-whatever. If it actually earns the Stalker name by being a sniper rifle, I will cut the barrel off a Sniper rifle and put it in place of the regular barrel.
So the choice is probably going to be between longer range or more shots and the answer is always more shots. That is, unless GW pulls their heads out of their asses and makes the Stalker Bolt-whatever a Sniper Type weapon. The ability to do mortal wounds offsets the more shots.
And honestly, wouldn't an HQ that can bust characters be pretty awesome?

I kind of hope they get at least 2-3 options, I was kind of looking forward to seeing what an upgraded primaris flamer/melta would look like. But I haven't seen anything to suggest Primaris will start out with a wealth of weapon choices like traditional marines.
With these prices i'll likely pass on these two characters. Unless I can bag them for 25-30 USD on ebay i'm going to skip them for sure. I kind of prefer the more imposing gravis captain anyways.
