The bits will be great for inq28 too.

No it was just our own campaign. It was set in a place called Fort London, and the player with the Genestealer Cult had the Fort London Genealogy Society who were very powerful (the main Purestrain, Huggles, was near unstoppable).

Eventually the Guilders forced the FLGS to break into two groups, and thus GeneWerks were formed.

It all culminated in a giant battle where two gangs (Escher + Orlock) with a lot of Hired Guns took on the FLGS to wipe them out. Went badly for everyone. Best part was the Ratskin Scout who was captured by the FLGS and then suddenly became a member... hmm...

Would the orks stats fit well with Necromunda? Would they be over powered or redundant as a gang?

If you don't mind me hazarding a guess, It's blocks of pink foam. He then used something like a straight edge/ruler and a pen to engrave the brick pattren into the foam to detail it.

I've seem people who this, did then then used hirtart blocks or O-Scale plastic windows/doors to detail the blocks into buildings after.

They are actually clear acrylic photo/picture frames in sizes from 4"x6" up to 16"x20" like these: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Acrylic-Box-Photo-Frame-Set-of-6/21683045

They were purchased from Walmart, Michaels and Aaron Brothers art supplies. One of the cool things about them is that they can nest inside each other, simplifying transport.

The brick texture and sidewalk pattern are textured styrene sheets from Evergreen and Plastruct.

Thanks, that's a great idea and an informative post. Very cool.

My local game store was about 45 minutes away and closed... I'm going to try my hardest to get my non-mini gaming friends to get in on this. Necro needs several people playing to really thrive.

Did something broadly similar with a Tau Stealthsuit, intended as a slightly hatstand 'wildlife documentary' maker....

Had to properly invent rules for him, which are now lost to the mists of time. But it was a bit of fun, and something unusual. He didn't open fire unless repeatedly harassed and chased.

He only needed to do it the once though.....I....I may have overclocked his Burst Cannon somewhat ruleswise.

We tried something similar with a Vindicare, and then with an Eversor Assassin.

The latter didn't go so well for the 2 gangs he went up against, as I recall...

Considering the Eversor in 2nd edition rules wise was an utter beast, I am not surprised

Absolutely. The Goliaths would work great for Chaos Cultists too with minimal work, or with a little more and a rebase they could be more realistic Ogryn.

Do you think they'll turn the game into more a standalone skirmish game? Necromunda was more of a RPG, in that your gang gains experience with every game.

I would hope that they stick with the campaign system, as that's what made Necromunda so much fun. Having said that, making starter gangs a little less useless at everything would have made one-off skirmishes a lot more fun as well... Although you could get around that by allocating a number of upgrades to each gang before the game.

We actually wound up doing something like that even for campaigns... It never made much sense that Juves very quickly amassed more skills than starting-roster gangers and heavies, so we used to assign upgrades based on starting experience and how many levels they would have gone through if they had started from 0. Made starting gangers a little better, and get past those first few really boring games of the campaign before anyone learns which end of the rifle is the hurty end.

Pretty much this.

When I had my old Gang, Rico's Redneck Redemption (House Cawdor), I rapidly stocked up on Power Mauls, for the simple reason they're ideal for thrashing new Gangs with. I have to get into HTH, which gives them a sporting chance at shooting me - and any Gangers I do take out during fisticuffs don't have to roll on the Serious Injury table.

Usually, after the first two or three games the new player had a better handle, and their gang was better advanced.

There a lot of women guardsman you can currently get.

Victoria and RagingHeroes spring to mind.

And on that note. Those jailbirds form RH would make great escher..

I hope that whatever form the campaign system takes it focuses on skills and new recruits rather than equipment. My biggest issue with many of these skirmish campaign games is that they require you to either alter your existing models or to have a several models with different equipment to represent a single gang member.

Back when IG had Regiments rules, and GW celebrated the diversity of their IG model range, the Escher were stand-ins for an Amazon IG army.

We know their base sizes, all the height calculations are based on those. The Escher are taller than the Goliaths.

So they make space marines that finally tower over the other miniatures and the next time they make normal people, they make them gigantic?

As previously mention, these are no taller than other human-sized minis released in the last couple years. See Genestealer Cults and Skitarii for reference. Can we please stop spreading misinformation?

Chaos cultists and scions are huge compared to skitarii and genestealer cultists. There's a lot of variation in the most recent "standard human" releases.

When you know the width of a base (25mm and 32mm) you can do objective comparisons. There's no misinformation in saying these are way larger than even the cultists and scions. I have no idea why EnTyme gave GSC or Skitarii as an example. They're no where near as large as these new necromunda ones.

Both the Escers and the Goliaths are about a head taller than the previous metal miniatures - and about the same height as more recent releases.
Also, as you can see, the height of GW miniatures vary alot (just as people IRL).

Though there aren't and GSC or Skitarii models in this comparison, it's fairly obvious based on the models present that they're in line with other modern minis.

The Goliaths are about the same size as the AoS Khorne models which are enormous for 28mm scaled humans and practically tower over GSC and Skitarii and the Escher, whilst not as bulky and broad, are nearly the same height. They are NOT in line with those.

I think "way larger" is a huge exaggeration. From measuring the photos I calculated the Eschers to be about 33mm. That makes them almost exactly the same height as the Sisters of Silence. Not a different scale, just tall, statuesque women, as they are meant to be. In contrast, I've just measured one of my genestealer cultists as 31mm

This comparison is misleading, as it has elves (which are taller than humans), Bloodbowl humans and Chaos Marauders, both of which are taller than most of GW's human figures, and Greyfax, who is a giant. GSC and Skitarii you mentioned are definitely noticeably shorter than any of these.

I am just going to wait and see on the scale and type of game this will end up being...

They would be silly to not make an adaption for shadow wars even if they do make a new necromunda rules set..

And the scale should be close.. they are going a little larger on models but can only hope they don't go crazy like the new marines.
