Your American and not present at the Adepction ?!? IN THE CAR ALREADY

Joke aside, I do not think we'll get both Idoneth Deepkin AND the new starter set / AOS V2 news at this event (because 40k I guess), but still it's gonna be huge !!!

What, you're European and not visiting the Louvre today?! In the car already!

That's what your comment is like to me.

I'm expecting Idoneth, a Primarch, and a preview of the new rules.

Ahahah yeah I get it Note that if the Louvre (4-5h hours by train from my place) was having a GW event of that magnitude (it's a trap !) I would already be in Paris...

By Primarch do you mean a Daemon primarch, right ? The rumors are for Fulgrim first IIRC

Rumors are for a Loyalist next actually.

But that's for a different thread. I just want to see these jawesome new models.

I expect that if we're getting a Primarch, it'll be loyalist. We already have two Daemon Primarchs. Although I'd love for it to be Fulgrim. And he can come out immediately. My game funds are on a spending freeze until Slaanesh hits. And Fulgrim counts for me to spend on. Basically, anything that is Slaanesh and new allows me to spend again.

Please show off Fulgrim if you want some of my monies soon GW!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

AoS 2nd edition and the fishmen then, is what we're expecting?

I mean, as far as AoS is concerned?

Well, we're expecting Idoneth because they're the subject of current teasers and thus should be the next big Age of Sigmar thing.

We might get AoS 2nd ed, if that's actually going to happen, because Warhammer Community said they'd top last year's preview, which was a new edition and new Marines, so I don't think just fishmen is enough. But then you never know. Might just be GW's marketing blowing things out of proportion.

Reckon it’ll be Adeptus Titanicus.

AoS doesn’t need a 2nd Edition. The base rules are free, and updates are handled via GHB. There’s nothing else to really review and update when you’ve got those two.

Also. Totally set an alarm for 1:58...

Just not sure it’s worth it.

About the only thing I hear grumbling about is the possibility of the double turn. And even then that’s still a deliberate design choice, rather than shonky wording.

Everything else works as intended, so I’m genuinely struggling to think of just what a second edition would bring.

Of course that’s quite possibly a failure of imagination on my behalf.

I would honestly be surprised (and a little put off) if we saw AoS 2.0 this quickly. We might see an update of the Free Basic Rules, but not a completely new edition. I think the PR backlash from invalidating literally every codex within 18 months (the oldest one at this point is Ironjawz if I'm not mistaken) would be a little too intense.

What does the rules being free have to do with this? The problem is that the rules are crap, not the price. They can easily update the free core rules.

Nothing would need to be "invalidated".

Literally, if they just did stuff like adding in the General's Handbook scenarios and "Rule of 1" and stuff like that--army books wouldn't have to be touched.

Indeed. It is unusual that new editions of GW games invalidate old codices or armybooks. If there is a new edition it is highly probable that it will be backwards compatible. (I'd prefer a clean slate radical reboot like they did with 40K, but that seems unlikely.)

So 40K editions from third to seventh were really not new editions?

I feel like we're just kind of crosstalking. Any update of the rulebook and/or starter set would be considered a "new edition" by most people.

Wouldn't have been enough to make me buy a whole new rulebook, that's for sure.

Considering how many people I've seen refer to post-GHB as 2nd Edition, you aren't wrong.

I'd like another giant hardback book with all the background information on the realms, cities, and major characters, including stuff on all the factions added after the Stormcast. The original book is woefully out of date (all the pictures are Stormcast and Bloodbound). Give me something I can hand to a prospective player that will blow their socks off.

I am hoping this will come with the RPG game but yeah I would love a full colour backgrond book - but based more on the novels - so much great stuff in them.

Maybe not a major rules update, but what about an updated starter set?

Because, why not? 40k has gotten boxed campaign/ starter sets like this. Death Masque, Forge Bane off the top of my head... why not something new for Sigmar?

You throw enough new models in a box, people will be clamoring for it.

Or maybe it's time for another Quest box?

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Well, it was like 8 months ago now? I’m pretty sure they were at least that regular for 40k.
