Got a great deal on the Old Umbrey starter.... now I need to make a bunch of purchases...

Between this, needing Kommandos and refreshing my (currently ruleless) Deathwatch, my pile is going from zero to 100 quicker than I'd like.

Just this afternoon, I bought a box of scourges. Opened the box and found one wing, and the little gem on the haywire blaster just missing.

emails to GW have been sent.

Yesterday 10/10, my wife called me asking if I wanted a 40k box she had found at a thrift store..

St Celestine and her Superia.. sealed... for $9.99.

Box was damaged and flattened a bit, but the contents were still on sprue and complete!

I picked up some very cool Vampire Knights on foot and bat creatures 3d printed from Etsy. Given the prices, quality, wide variety of designs and not having to assemble monopose guys out of ten different pieces…I think I’ll just keep buying 3d printed stuff!

I misplaced my goto nippers, the Tamiya Sharp Pointed Side Cutters.. so decided to go all-in with this nipper game. Just spent over a hundred euros on a dual set of GodHand nippers, one regular side cutter one and the Ultimate 5.0 single-blade nipper!

I'm still trying to re-learn the "basics" of modelling, and have always felt like I am not doing all I can when it comes to efficient/elegant part sprue removal and cleanup. I always end up spending way too much time sanding the nubs away. If this two-punch method cuts down the part sanding time significantly, it's worth every damn penny..

The idea is to first use the regular side cutters for removing the part from the sprue, and then using the single-blade nipper for removing the nub from the detached piece. AFAIK this two part method is recommended because single-blade nippers break easily, and work optimally when the piece is already detached (appraently, removing the piece from its sprue creates the most friction/wear to the tool itself)

Rounding out my "year of scenery" with the final pledge from Archon Caves turned up today so I can do a full 6x4 table of caving fun.

Have found makeup sponge painting them works very well. It's ridiculously fast and looks way better than it should for the effort.

An early mistake in packing and shipping led to sending out the "one per backer" Ettin and huge Ba'lor Demon as "one per-pledge". As they started this they just decided to continue instead of correcting it. So I have some big old Demons to sell which I'll basically swap for some of those overpriced Eldar Warlocks and a Falcon.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Do I need another terminator? And a chapter specific one at that for a chapter I don't play at that? Noo, I do not.
But it's such a cool looking model....

This sounds like you need to start playing another chapter.

Returning to 40k after a couple of years away, I decided it was time to upgrade and refresh the collection, so I've been prowling ebay for 2nd ed. models on the cheap.

First purchase was some heavy weapon bits as my stockpile was finally giving out.

Next up, I decided to swap out my VOID 1.1 grav tanks for actual Eldar Falcons, and have picked up two broken ones, along with a small lot of spare weapons with which to complete them.

Broken/incomplete kits are like catnip to me.

Want a better way to do fantasy/historical miniatures battles?  Try Conqueror: Fields of Victory.

Do you like Star Wars but find the prequels and sequels disappointing?  Man of Destiny is the book series for you.

Ordered a Veer-myn Strike Force to do a small Hrudd force and picked up some Stargrave Mercs at the same time to kitbash into extra Genestealer Cultists and Tau Human Auxillaries.

Whole lot came to the same price as a GW combat patrol for 82 human sized minis, 4 ogre sized minis, 2 small vehicles and a big vehicle. If GW ever come out with a combat patrol with that level of value I'll be amazed.

I can't stop buying terminators... I think I managed to snag a pre-order o f the Crux battleforce. That means there are 10 guys worth of close combat armaments being left on the sprue. so I've been hunting decently priced push-fit kits on e-bay to use the rest up with.

Theoretically, this for my son's force that he kind of likes, but I am reasonably sure it will become a person effort

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I've always wanted to have a go at assembling/painting some Mantic models. My local FLGS had the Nightstalkers Ambush starter set on a discount so I nabbed it.

Hopefully I'll have time to pop it open this weekend and see what they are like.
