Have we found out for sure they'll work in 40k, or is this speculation?

They said so in the article. The models in the box will be usable in 40K. No more info about that.

The Deathworld terrain is capturing my interest. I wanted to roll my eyes at first and blow it off- it's PRICEY.... but at the same time, I've been really wanting to make an 'Infantry Only' Jungle Board for both KT and 40k.

The Kill Zone for it is an absolutely great deal imho.

The bgf difference to normal Kill team seems to be characters - I can't believe that the RT is a normal 1 wound model? Then there is the Assassin and the Enginseer.

Someone published the stat line...cuz Primaries Marines and many others in KT have more than one wound.

This is also predicated upon the idea that they're "character" characters, rather than being something like Datasmiths or other things that are basically just buffbots that normally would have been part of a unit.

I am really hoping that a Rogue Trader who RG himself asks to do stuff and her dynasty has (had) at least one Cruiser class warship is a bit more than that......

The Rogue trader codex would be a good opportunity to release a brand new 'astra militarum' line.

I love the fact that the Rogue Traders are, in fact, rouge.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Awesome, Exalted, and you win The Internet not just for today, but for the rest of the month.

Maybe the rest of the Summer.

And quite possibly all of 2018 too.

After I thought about it, I realize...it MUST have been a conscious decision on the part of the designers to use red plastic, surely.

I don't know - shouldn't the nurgle be green? Unless it's a red vs blue joke.

The Nurgle stuff IS green.

The blue stuff behind is the Space Marines Hero collection 1 stuff.

The Nurgle bits are green in the boxed game from what has been shown.

I strongly doubt we'll see a Rogue Trader Codex. Instead, I expect point values in the back of the expansion that will allow for the models to be taken in an Imperium army as their own unit or detachment.

That's probably exactly what it'll be. They might be plug & play characters for various Imperium armies, so there's that.

I don't understand the great deal of it. The board itself looks like leaves and there is no higher terrain. It is pretty much just scatter terrain for the same price as the mechanicus one which had quite a bit of value to it and the ability to make some variable terrain.

With Custodes and Sisters of Battle branching out to their own full books, they need some new stuff to put in an "Agents of the Imperium" book, like Rogue Traders.

Yeah, Imperial Agents would be a good choice, particularly as I imagine that the mechanics of the force would be very similar to the Inquisition (or how the Inquisition should work anyway); cool, highly customisable, character with retinue of varied elite warriors and specialists, backed up by a squad of veteran infantry. And the authority to requisition other imperial units.

Wait, five characters and a squad of red shirts? That would make 6 data sheets (with puppy on someone else's sheet). Could be very doable and a great stepping stone for Inquisitorial bands.

I hope some of the Necron stuff gets into KT, even if it's through WD articles. Make White Dwarf Great Again!

I find it interesting that dogs will be playable units at all. I hope it's a separate unit entry too, and usable by Imperial Guard in 40k. Then we can finally have K9 units in game.

Yes. Hopefully it will be similar to Kroot hounds, and not like genestealer familiars.
On the released pictures, the dog seems to be by itself (not hanging close to the same model all the time), so that's a good sign at least.

Has anybody heard a little tidbit about an inquisitorial warband release?

Somebody told me about this as we were talking about the rogue trader set- he was basically saying how it gives GW license to make kits for factions that would never get a full release in 40k and that inquisition is gonna be great (implying he'd maybe seen it?)

This isn't a rumour, im just asking if anybody else has had a GW staff member mention this?

There's been no official implication that an Inquisitorial warband is upcoming, it's just a logical next step after Rogue Trader.

Well the magic dogs in the Stormcast range have been popular, so maybe they are capitalising?

What's good is that a dog is quite a flexible phenotype, allowing for some cool conversions

Oh of course nothing official, i expect GW would deny everything until the press release. But i heard this from somebody who definitely will have contacts within GW, so was wondering if anybody had heard similar?

Because it's a $130 set sold as an $80 set with the addition of a double-sided Killzone board and fun rules, and if you buy from online retailers it'll be 15% to 30% cheaper.

Anyone calling the Death World terrain stuff "scatter terrain" has no personal experience with it - it's fething huge, and super easy to convert. When I get my Killzone Deathworld Forest, it'll be my third set, and will be converted with another set of Munitorum Containers to make a sweet overgrown outpost.

The description on GW's site doesn't seem to match:

GW wrote:- 3 sets of Death World Forest scenery – 6 Eldritch Ruins, 9 sets of Barbed Venomgorse, 6 Shardwrack Spines and 6 pieces of Grapple Weed in total.

6 Eldrich ruins? So this x3?

That's not what the picture shows:
