Humm, curious if anything from the nurgle kill team will be of any use to either DG or nurgle demons?

We already have nurglings and poxwalkers so there seems to be over lap there. The big guys could be interesting depending on their movement statistic and costs as perhaps more durable spawn. Not too hopeful though.

Dat TELEPORTING poxwalker tho.. extra kewl points for super heretical necron helmets..

Yeah, I thought that was kinda harsh. I figured the death of the dog should affect them more.

Maybe it's more of a moral test.

""Yeah, doesn't count after all."

You must follow the Khadoran Rules of Battle:

1) When moving the puppy you must either state 'ruff ruff' or 'bork bork' to announce the move action
2) Upon vitory, it is acceptable to have the dog miniatures do a little dance
3) If an enemy action results in the dog's demise you should solemnly look around you and loudly announce that the opposing player is indeed a 'Puppy Killer'.

Well, it's a mini codex rather than a full codex and it will also include a number of characters to take as well.

This does put a big dent in my hope for a multi-part kit of the voidsmen. They did it for GSC, can we have it here too?

They are just like Shadespire warbands in AoS. A character-like unit. As they have said, those mini-codex are not a generic rogue-trader or a generic nurgle mutant codex. They are codex that represent those specific forces if you want to take them as allies.

There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

From Warhammer Community (emphasis added):

Rather than being codexes for Rogue Traders in general or Nurgle mutants, these books have been designed to provide you with two focused, thematic allies for a larger force. Got some Death Guard? You can never have too many horrific Nurgle mutants! Need to add some aristocratic flair to your Astra Militarum? Hire the Elucidian Starstriders!

It is still disappointing. Making the characters unique is one thing, but making the squad unique too is a bit too much. I hope we get a real Rogue Trader codex soon.

They are barely better than guard, no orders and only one per army. I dont really think it's too cheap. Well... maybe a tad cheap with that rotor cannon, but keeping it as a unique unit keeps it from being a too cheap strategy point battery unit

So I'm betting people will be going bananas to buy the Poxwalker-ish dudes and the Voidsmen.

I kind of want to see how functional the team is without them, because I might sell off mine and just keep the 'characters'.

Why would they, when the game is designed so that you can't use more basic dudes than supplied in one set? Well, it's not clear from the datasheet that they showed that you can't get more than one unit of “Nitch's squad” but it would be like having multiple Celestine (which was actually allowed in RAW at the beginning of 8th which was hilarious), and from what I got, for Kill Team both side are already full with the mini in just one set.

Is it bad that the only mini I want is the dog as I already have my own Rogue trader house troops and a Doctor Von X which is way better than the GW doc?

The codex might be nice too, but pdf is a thing.

Those Voidsmen could be proxied as Guardsmen, that's what I'm getting at. And the... Poxwalker dudes could be... special Poxwalkers, I guess?

That's the appeal I see, and considering how limited the guard range is, it's a new option for IG troops.

Yeah, I get that. Were I to make an IG Force, it'd be a lot of third-party stuff from Anvil and Victoria. But, given that there are some GW Purists out there (and places that forbid non-GW models), it's an option for some folks.

Maybe they'll get an individual release kit, who knows.

Just say they are old GW and mix in a couple real old RT figs? Don't forget wargames exclusive for some not IG that could pose as Rogue trader troops.

You must not have ever encountered one of them.

I've had hissy-fits over just bits added to some of my models, I know the feeling.

At this point, anything GW could put out that would pass as a 'Guardsman of any variety' would work. I've already seen someone field Van Saar as Lucifer Blacks.

Is the female head not gw? What happened? I had some whippersnappers accuse me of modelling for advantage by using a RT Landraider that was older than them once.
