I agree with HBMC. I think a Killzone boxset is the correct comparison here. A rulebook instead of all the typical terrain seems about right.

My guess is it will be at a minimum of $60 US. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes for $80 US. The teaser information hasn't yielded anything that makes be consider purchasing it. I am not tournament player at all, and I have my doubts that this box is going to undo the faction tiers and auto-include weapons Kill Team already has.

The only thing I am glad is how this set is further cementing that players should bring a 20 man roster to games rather than a single 100 point list. I always found it a little awkward to show up with my roster versus someone with a 100 point list and get in a game.

The designer’s comments today on Facebook will cement your opinion of the need for rosters, Saturmorn. Moreover, he deftly defended the lack of flexibility within a roster for horde armies.

For my part, I am both a competitive and a narrative player. I am very much looking forward to this.

My wallet will finally get a rest this week, I only need the new AdMech box. With 3 Mechanicum and 2 Munitorum sets to my name, there's no sense in branching out into the Ryza ruins.

That or it’s a fast one on the part of the creative team to get past a limitation on new sprue counts per release that was put in place by the bean counters.

The sprue count is still there...?

Or are you meaning blister count?

I mean there will be five or six characters with the genecult book, plus the bikers and maybe the alleged goliath variant.
If they can get away with reducing the nominal count of sprues included in the “codex genestealer cults release” by including one in the “kill team commander kit release” instead, more power to them. Bureaucratic shuffling at its finest, to be sure, but nevertheless a worthwhile effort in pursuit of a laudable goal.

I can totally see the creatives fighting a little guerilla war against the bean counters.

Consider that Codex Orks had everything without a model slashed, down to weapon options being deleted for not being included in the Trukk and Battlewagon box, but then some glorious bastard snuck in two units without models on the Strategems page.

Interesting that the new HQ models for GSC and AdMech have not been announced for pre-order in their own blisters. I would not have thought they would be available exclusively through the new Kill Team faction sets, even if it's only for a week or so.

They want you to buy the more expensive box to begin with. Bigger profit margin. See how they released armiger titans. Same way. They will come on their own to sale later no doubt. But first they want to sell box with bigger price. Alternatively they will put them individually for something like 1£ cheaper

12 quid ain't too bad for the new AdMech hero and a sprue of ruins (compared to just a box of Sicarians). 15 quid for the GSC guy.

It looks like the same terrain from Rogue Trader, so I can't imagine they'll try to ask $100 for it. Even $80 is pushing it, unless the rules turn out to be a lot more substantial than they've suggested. I agree the new Kill Team sets will likely be at the $60 price point.

While its certainly reusing the digital assets from Rogue Trader for the pipes and door (and the Munitorum container for the boxes) it's going to be a new sprue so it's probably going to be more than you think sadly

So the two new kill team starters are more expensive than any of the starters we have now, though not by a huge amount (the current ones are either £30 or £37,50). That means they'll probably be €55 (same price as the not-ETB Redemptor Dreadnought)?

Sector Fronteris is the same price as all the other Killzones. Haven't been able to find anything in the £55 price bracket, but I'm guessing €70? Fairly steep for what amounts to what looks like a thin-ish book and a rather meager killzone (in terms of plastic, that is).

That they built in a doubles mode and provide everything needed for four player games makes the purchase of this much more likely for me. It's really cool that they give you two boards in the box.

The Kill Zone is priced at 80$ US.

At least that is what my rep told me this morning.

And the two new forces priced at 65$ US

I'm excited for this. I do wish that the boards were different instead of being duplicates, but hey, it should make it super simple to have multiplayer games. Since I'm running campaigns and such, I'll get this and then nobody else at my local shop will have to.

Also excited for the killzone. I don't know why, but I really like the look of those ruins.

The starter boxes are exactly the answer I was expecting. I also expect things like Grey Knights and Harlequins to get similar starter boxes but without the unique commander. Just a set that has the commander and faction tactics all in one since you can make the commander out of the single box.

Spikey Bits is saying the US price will much higher than expected. These new KT products are the first new GW products post-price increase. They are ridiculously priced! The new killzone has jumped 25%, now at $100. Arena is $110. That’s $20 more than what the typical GW exchange rate would account for. I am now unsure about how much I will be putting down for KT products.

Do you have any confirmation beyond Spikey Bits (which is hardly the most reliable site)? Did they accidentally go to the Australia webshop again? We've all done that.

Admittedly no, but they have been accurate on these articles for the last 5 months that I've been viewing them. If it is the type of mistake you suggest (though Canadian Dollars is more likely), then I will be retract my statement.

....And just like that, I take it all back. Sqorgar is correct. Bell of Lost Souls posted their article (see: http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2019/01/next-weeks-40k-products-pricing-confirmed-9.html) and the prices are as many had been speculating most of the day. My apologies for spreading erroneous information.

Not your fault for just sharing info, but this is exactly why sites like Spikey Bits are what they are. The fact that they framed it as part of a larger GW price increase (which isn't the case) jut shows to me they are trying to stir the pot for page views.

What we actually have is a price decrease on the Kill Zone, and a very minor increase for the starter bundles with the new characters. I'm even surprised those are as low as they are considering how GW prices single figures these days.

Have to say I'm thrilled with the new Kill Zone bundle. I have incorporated a ton of the Ryza terrain for my skirmish boards and the complete wall sections previously were only in the Moon Base Klasius set, making it hard(and expensive) to make larger structures with them. This Kill Zone solves that problem.

Combine a few sets of these Kill Zones with some modular tiles and you've got a poor man's Zone Mortalis board.

You can never beat your first time. The second generation is shinier, stronger, faster and superior in every regard save one, and it's an unfair criticism to level, but it simply can't be as original. - Andy Chambers, on the evolution of Games Workshop games

The Fonteris Kill Zone is 80$.

Again - told by my rep yesterday morning and confirmed by the email to stockists today.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also - fun fact - this release will be pretty limited - we can only order 2 of the new kill zones for our store. and that seems to be consistent across North America. And we are limited to 5 of each kill team and a max of 7 Arena boxes.

That's weird. The Kill Zones seem like they were all really big sellers. I guess they basically want them to sell out, but as someone who already has a couple other kill zones to assemble and paint (as I'm just finishing up painting the last of the terrain from the core box) I don't want to have to buy this as soon as it is released. I'd prefer to wait until I've finished some of the terrain I already have and be confident I'll be able to pick this up later if I want.

I think your reasoning is exactly why they're limiting it. To prevent it from being a frontloaded product.
