I'm still confused by that. I get that GW doesn't use pre-orders in the way most companies do, because their window is so short (rather than getting a feel for interest and demand to set their initial production), but two weeks for a limited product that seemed pretty likely to sell out doesn't serve any purpose at all. [Oddly what it does do is suggest a lack of faith that the box would actually sell out (like Dark Uprising or Blood of the Phoenix)]

I mean, they could be aiming for Black Friday marketing here in the States, but if it is that, they're doing it wrong.
I hope they at least have the sense to put the Christmas boxes up for preorder on the following Saturday.

Why not? It's three sprues (plus the Canoness) and would fit into one of the boxes. It's just like this and this (and the Slaves to Darkness one when it hits).

This is a big release because of all the other bull gak that comes in the box. Strip away all the cards, dice and books and you've just got 25 (or 24) miniatures, mostly on jumbled sprues, that could easily fit in a Start Collecting! box.

Yo, just a quick note about the sisters box. Out here in Japan, it's nearly ¥30,000. That's effectively like 15% of my monthly wages. For a box full of repeat CAD poses, that's ridiculous, and I am firmly firmly skipping it, as much as I am looking forward to getting back into painting sisters again. I'm not sure who this is marketed at, but in Japan, it's mad to think this will sell to more than a tiny handful of wealthy diehards, who I've certainly never encountered, particularly when they've just previewed a fantastic looking multi part troop set.

This is probably why Japan still has some available to preorder in both Japanese and in English.

The local store I ordered from also still has four of the five English and four of the five Japanese copies left as well (this is separate from the previous sentence).

I was actuly going to buy this box, Guess not.
I will buy some of the awesome alternatives instead for Christmas !!

Also, the new Black Library novel called Mark of Faith is about a sister who is tasked to retrieve St.Katherine's shield (the one thing of her's that Celestine didn't pinch). Might be the front Sister is her and she's holding Katherine's shield.

One of the Cherubs is holding a scroll with a K (same as Karl Franz used)...

I wonder what kind triumph it will be. I mean, a certain Sister Repentia stole her armour leaving her in a crypt only in underwear.

I don't give feth about tournaments. I don't play in them, I have no use for them. I'm talking about local areas, and where I game it's foot slogged infantry spammed into oblivion.

We will just wait and see how many of these flying toilets end up seeing play. I'm already hearing those in my local area laughing at these things. Not one of us has said we will get one.

Could you elaborate on this? All entries are in alphabetical order, apart from the rhino and immolator. Since the sanctum isn't in the fluff section, it could still be under transports. Taking e.g. death guard as a reference, is the tree mentioned there in the fluff section? That should give us a clue on whether or not it's a terrain piece.

So its a reliquary of St Katherine's entire body it looks like. The Bretonnian player in me likes this.

That's not how GW's exchange rates work. Those outside the UK pay a premium - excessively so in some cases.

At least that has one advantage it seems: it's actually feasible to procure a limited set, as it doesn't sell out as fast.

Hard to say, but for the most part we play nearly double out here. All the start collecting boxes are about £100+ here, for example.

While I hope this battle sanctum thing is a flying Lord of War, it will, as others have said, probably just be a terrain piece. If it looks cool I'll get it just for that, but it will probably be unusable in games.

On an unrelated note, what do we think the odds are that there will be reviews of the book on YouTube today or tomorrow? Most normal codex releases are accompanied by the NDA drop and subsequent flood of information, but this is by no means a normal codex release.

Will there be book reviews today?

Element seemed to be sold out by the time it even appeared on the website (and only 10% off)! Ordered from GW in the end but think I managed to bag both the sisters set and the |Siege of Terra book.

Phew, I have never experienced the GW webstore to be this slow.
(Though I also can't remember the last time I've tried to order something this close to the actual minute of release.)

Got mine there. Wayland Games also has it (maybe had it by now) but with no discount whatsoever, full £125 price.

Mostly ordered mine as a back-up route for my gaming club. But, they all managed to get their own orders in.

If anyone missed out, I’m happy to sell my copy on for what I paid for it plus postage. Because it’s nice to be nice.
