I assume that the first block of issues will build up to something comparable to soul wars, but I’m not too sure where they will go from that. I guess the storm cast have a lot of easy to build stuff from first edition but I’m not too sure about the night haunt. Also a question of what scenery - if any - they out in as they did with conquest

I never bought conquest. I'm not super into 40k anymore but i heard alot of positivity around it so subbed to mortal realms when it first got announced.

I am however not sure how long i will keep the sub going -
Is the magazine going to be worth it(a saving) for someone who has been in the hobby a long time and has all the paints? I mainly looked at it as possibly a cheaper way of expanding my original stormcast army.

The magazine will be worth it, and if you paint a lot, more paints are never a bad thing, as paints are quickly becoming the most expensive part of the hobby as time goes on for me.

Even picking up the issue with retributor armour is good value as that's a premium metallic paint, the extra stuff that may come with it is a bonus.

If you're just after Stormcast issues, keep an eye on the Forbidden Planet website.

If they sell it the same they have Conquest, you'll know what will be in each issue months in advance and can advance order. Plus they sell issues for 50 pence off the retail price although P&P is £2 per issue or £3 for two issues. Every little helps.

The Hachette website normally seems to be sold out the day the issue is in the shops.

£5.50 for 3 or more issues.
So for instance, back at issue 40 odd of Conquest, I ordered all the remaining 9 or so issues I wanted. It’s all in one postage price. Though they send them every so often as they release

I never knew that. Where issues have been a month or so apart, I've paid the separate postage. Still cheaper than GW/ discounters retail prices though.

I'll bear it in mind, especially when Forbidden Planet reveal the covers up to issue 80.

Yeah as soon as they put the whole lot up I just pre ordered all the remaining Death Guard bits as that’s all I wanted.

I would have happily waited till the last one became available and gotten them all at once, but they just send each release as normal.
So definitely worth doing!

Looks like Pre-orders for the first 20 Issues are up on Forbidden Planet, Still no word on what the Contents are beyond Issue 4

We know issue 5 (exclusive Stormcast character) like the Conquest exclusives in issue 5 of Conquest as this was revealed at the back of issue 4.

How many copies of issue one is excessive?

In all seriousness though, it's good to see pre-orders are up at last.

I'm seriously considering ordering seven of them. Seventy chainrasps for about the price of ten sounds like the only way I can get a big block of them for a reasonable price. Fifty bucks for a set of ten easy-to-build models you need swarms of is ridiculous.

Update: I placed the order, and added one each of issues 2 and 4. Hopefully they will have enough to meet the no-doubt crazy levels of demand.

Yeah that initial chainrasp issue is stupidly good value. Be picking up a bunch for sure.

Can someone with good eyesight and knowledge of the stormcast, nighthaunt and terrain ranges do a quick recap of what we are getting?

I'm not a Fantasy player collector so the collection as a whole isn't necessarily for me but some of the terrain, character and paint/ brush issues may be worth a purchase.

Can't see it all clearly, but i can see the celestant prime and all the nighthaunt characters in there. and warcy scenery interestingly.

Spoiler:

Hard to say for certain, but for the Nighthaunt side it looks like almost the entire range is represented. The three big named characters are there, and so is the Mortis Engine, which is really weird since it can't be fielded by Nighthaunt. I'm pretty sure I see the models for the Thorns of the Briar Queen in there too, and hexwraiths.

Seems I'll be ordering a lot of these issues...

I think its in there because GW has put a "getting started" set in and that's included in the GS set. It might also be that Nighthaunt will get the model added to their force - which makes sense as its pretty much a fully nighthaunt designed model save for its alternative vampire mode.

Could also be the issue that teaches about alliances. and that would be easiest to do with death.

Hot diggity damn.
Looks like i might end up subscribing to this one as well if it makes down here seeing as i'd like the whole nighthaunt range. Terrain never goes astray either.

Also any one else noticed that the picture of the free gifts, they've removed the glass stein and replaced it with the water cup and palette book?

If I remember correctly the gifts for Conquest changed between the trial and actual launch. One was a poster of the Marine Chapters unless that has arrived as one of the three paid add ons after the art and Silver Templars books.

I haven't been home in the last three months to check what has been delivered.

I had a pretty close look at the Stormcast half and i think this might be the full line up. Assuming i'm right the Stormcast half comes to roughly $1000-$1100 Australian dollars if you had to buy everything directly from GW.

Exclusive Knight-Incantor
Celestant-Prime
ETB Mounted Astreia Solbright
Knight-Venator
Lord-Exorcist
Neave Blacktalon
Lord-Ordinator
Underworld: Stormsire's Cursebreakers
Underworld: The Farstriders

3 ETB Sequitors
3 ETB Castigators and 1 Gryph hound
1 ETB Ballista and 2 crew
3 Evocators on Celestial Dracolines
3 Vanguard-Raptors and 3 Aetherwings
3 Gryph Hounds
5 Judicators? (I'm not 100% positive, but it really looks like the models below the ETB Ballista have bows.)

Old starter set/Thunderstrike Brotherhood models:
Lord-Relictor
10 liberators
3 Retributors
3 Prosecutors

Soul Wars models:
Mounted Lord-Arcanum
Knight-Incantor
8 Sequitors
5 Castigators
3 Evocators
1 Ballista and 2 crew

That's really useful, thanks Mr Gutsy.

On the Nighthaunt side of things I can see (or think I can see):

Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief
Kurdoss Valentian, the Craven King
Mortis Engine
ETB Reikenor the Grimhailer
2 ETB Dreadblade Harrows
Knight of Shrouds on Steed from Soul Wars
Spirit Hosts
Dreadscythe Harridans
Bladegheist Renevants
Hexwraiths
Grimghast Reapers
Underworlds: Thorns of the Briar Queen

And we know confirmed are:
10 Chainrasp (Issue 1)
4 ETB Myrmourn Banshees (Issue 2)
4 ETB Glaivewraith Stalkers (Issue 4)

But there's a few bits I wasn't sure about so there'll be some missing from my list.

I'm pretty sure I can see a Knight of Shrouds with no mount as well.

For those who previously subbed to this, do we have to sub again? My subscription says it's still running but no idea if it's working or not.

If it works the same as Conquest, they'll contact you about it continuing.

Expect the first four issues (or however many you received first time around) for free, rather than skipped over.
