Ooh. I like this paint scheme! I'm always a little jealous when I see people who can pull off a really good colored-metallic paint-job. I've never achieved one I was entirely happy with. Excited to see what your rhino/mobile cathedral thing looks like when you're finished with it.

Thanks gobert! And that is the nice thing about the Inquisition: You hate Xenos? That means you will walk around with Xenos tech and a Xenos dragon on your arm. You hate Psykers? Well, you probably are a very strong one yourself. They are a lovely bunch of hypocrites
youwashock wrote:Yeah! She looks good! Always nice when a model comes together quick. Amalia looks good with her new base. The group shot is great. Those snow bases make a good backdrop for your green/maroon.
Thanks youwashock! With Amalias new base I can at least halfway justify paying 25€ for a normal Battle Sister
JoshInJapan wrote:Wow, you're really flying through those SoB.
Thanks JoshInJapan! Luckily I have the scheme now down in my sleep so even little sessions get models along, because I now exactly what little things I paint in what color.
inmygravenimage wrote:These are looking great, I really like your colour palette. Interested to see how you apply it to tanks.
Thanks Graven! Tanks will be mostly The Fang as a base, I primed the rhino and will start painting it hopefully next week.
Syro_ wrote:Your rapid progress on the Sisters of Battle is really impressive Viterbi, they are looking good. I especially like the new inquisitor.
Thanks Syro_! When they showed the first pic of the new Inquisitor my wallet weeped a little (seeing as it was released together with the Daemonifuge comic and models).
Gwyn chan 'r Gwyll wrote:It's true, with your strong consistent Imperial colours, that Inquisitor looks VERY heretical lacking the turquoise!
Thanks Gwyn chan 'r Gwyll! I was contemplating giving her turquoise armour, but I liked the black in the box art so Greyfax will get the colorful armour once I built and prime her.

Thanks brushcommando! When I started with my marines it was before Contrast and I loathed doing three coats of Coelia Greenshade and still having some parts that weren't covered. But with Contrast it is really easy and I highly recommend you try it out. I mostly use Leadbelcher base and the either Terradon Turquoise or Akhelian Green, they work marvelous.
Maharg wrote:Sisters are coming on nicely, colour scheme is really effective and looks great in the group shot. Like inmygravenimage I'm intrigued to see it applied to a vehicle
Thanks Maharg!
Finished two more minis, the Imagifier is possible my favorite sculpt of the range, it was a joy to paint. The canoness brought me a little headache, me and painting eyes won't work in this lifetime. Had to put white again over her eyes, because as with the Inquisitor I couldn't get both eyes to look the same direction. And I didn't want to give her a scar too Now she is only showing the white in her eyes, probably getting a vision from the Emperor before charging into battle.
And WIP are the Repentia Superior who is pretty far along and the Hospitaller, who will get a nice red armour and white coat to look as nursey as possible.

Really impressed with the Imaifier! The icon looks like carved ivory or off-white marble. Really impressive. Also I noticed a few cool things you did, the contrast between the teal armor and her corset and brass piping. Great job!

Thanks Don Qui Hotep! Icon was luckily pretty easy, I was going for that look you described and I just used Grey Seer as a base, did a wash with Seraphim Sepia and than a drybrush with Ushbati Bone.

Agreed on the Imagifier, that is one hell of a miniature. I have no real interest in SOB but would happily purchase one of them. The icon, and overall paintjob, looks great. Ushabti bone is one of my favourite paints in the range.
I continue to love the green armour and burgundy robe combination, very striking.
I also have a Stern to paint, but mainly for the Harlequin dude...cannot wait to see the finished product in the coming days.

Thanks gobert! My only fear with the red armour is the highlighting. Need to decide if I do lazy drybrush or concentrate with normal edges with some orange.

Thanks IGtR=! Want to have a workable force for small games fast and they are nice models to paint.
With the time off work gone I'm a little slower, but managed to finish the Repentia Superior. A nice model and this time I did the Duncan Rhodes™ method for her eyes of just a bit of Wyldwood contrast to give some depth.

Nice work finishing another sister. I have to question the Orders safety case though, long hair that close to an open flame. Maybe it explains the odd haircuts?

Thanks gobert! And as always, the Emperor protects, "open flame and long hair, the Sororitas don't care"... Hopefully Fireman Sam never sees this
And the next finish, Ephrael Stern is done (although I may do some touchups on the sword handle and maybe something different for the blade, not entirely happy). If the next painting comp theme is "Death from above", I will be miffed
The Hospitaller got a little more love, but I'm not sure about her armour. Did a little orange Drybrush, but it looks rather dull and may look weird in contrast to the dead sister's armour. May do it in metallic red, will decide tomorrow.
Also started work on the Indomitus marines, inspired by Nevelon I made a headswap with the Judiciar and gave his head to the Bladeguard Ancient (although his may still change, the heads are not glued on). The Eridicators seemed like a good choice to start painting, because they are mostly armour.

Really fun updates. I personally Ephrael's sword but I could see another metallic layer to brighten it up, and leave the glowing green effects a bit more subtle glow. I think a red-over-metallic hospitaller would be very cool, but there is part of me that likes the more matte approach to the armor. I think it matches the messier aspects of her job.
I do love that model. She's got her apothecary gauntlet and a helpful servo-arm, and when she sees a sister with a bullet wound her first instinct is "welp, better start praying."

Thanks Syro_! Just a Leadbelcher base and then some Aethermatic Blue Contrast and some Stormhost Silver for the edges. But since then I repainted it with Leadbelcher, Akhelian Green and than some scratches with silver. Looks a little darker that way.

Thanks Don Qui Hotep! I can practically hear the wounded sister asking for help and the Hospitaller is like, "nope, can't help you, pray to the Emperor, prepare to meet him.. Next!" Still undecided about the armour, but may try shading it, may help get some definition.

Thanks amazingturtles! She was actually quite fun to paint and is very sturdy on her base so I had no worries.
Small progress was to be had and I painted my first Indomitus marines, the Eradicators got a quick and dirty paintjob and are ready to wreak havoc. Tried the heat effect with contrast instead of the usual washes, came out a little to bright for my taste so will return to the old method when I have to paint the next melta.

The Eradicators look great for a quick job, I think they are my favourite sculpts from the Marine side of the box. You have to wonder if they will prove as effective on the tabletop as some claim, they certainly seem strong in principle.
I am a member of a space marine group on Facebook, I think about 90% have swapped out the Judiciar head, I have certainly swapped mine for a scarred up Reiver head.
How did you find Ephrael's cloak to paint? It seems a bit oddly sculpted to me in hand.
