The high quality of the Ragnar mini works against him for me; I never before realized how cheesy a chainsword actually is. It's like watching Star Wars on a high def TV.

Ghaz is pretty good. Not worth the month of hand san and costco of TP he'll cost, but nice enough for an ork.

Also, those Infiltrators in the group shot look kinda out of place.

"Uh guys, I think, uh... the orks are that way"

"Hang on a minute, what time is it? Isn't it time for lunch soon?"

"Uh, yea maybe, let me check my watch"

"Hey, I think I heard something over there"

"Where?"

"Over there! Look where I'm pointing!"

and the orks are just

"lol, let's krump these clowns"

The 3D views showing around Ghaz a little more in the vid make him look so much better than the pic, I’m super keen for him. Surely his stats are gonna change with a shoota and klaw that big and with a body and armour that thicc?

Yeah, he just a twin big shoota up until now whereas it's a named gubbin' now (and obviously more barrels). And his kustom klaw was also renamed so I feel like there's a good chance of much being reworked on him. (Like, is he even still less than 10 wounds and infantry?)

Ghaz is... overdone. All of his things are comically oversized, but each one individually, not all together, if that makes sense, so that all sense of scale and proportion is lost. He's not a BIG model - he's a model with a BIG left arm and a BIG right arm and BIG feet and a BIG back.

Yeah, I get that impression from it as well. It's weird. The individual parts are cool, and I really want to like it, but the overall effect is of a chibi instead of a big model. The awkward posing required to balance him on the rubble doesn't help, either.

Ragnar is nice enough. Although, once again, the silly rubble pile would have to go.

I’m certain he’ll gain the Monster keyword, like Guilliman. I hope he stays bellow 10 wounds but gets a toughness boost, or if he goes above 10 have some way of staying alive for more than a turn.

As someone else mentioned, Ghaz's helmet is built in.

And how exactly do you see a helmet fitting on Ragnar? I suppose he could have a hole cut in the top for the topknot to go through...

I think it's interesting we've heard so much about the fluff side of things and the physical releases, but I don't think I've seen anything about the rules content - especially for orks.

Has there been any word on Kustom jobs, Klan psychic powers or Freebootas?

Despite their name Space Wolves cannot engage in conflicts in space as their infantry would all die due to lack of helmets.

Didn't seem to help him from getting his head cut off, so I'd tend to disagree.

Well, that insightful response has certainly made me rethink my position. Jolly good show, that man!

Seriously, though, if you're expecting sensible armour styling despite 30 years of precedence (and on Orks, no less!), I'm really not sure what to tell you. 40K just isn't that game.

Mere inconvenience?

"After an enterprising grot managed to find Ghazghkull’s head, his remains were taken to Mad Dok Grotsnik, and the Painboy had a plan. Lugging looted macro capacitors into his lab, he began his experiments and, as sheets of green power filled the sky, Ghazghkull lived once more."

That doesn't sound like a mere inconvenience. That sounds like he had to be resurrected.

Which, compared to death, is really just an inconvenience.

I hope that the people who couldn't handle it being a setting and wanted it to be a story are happy now. So exiting. And no, don't actually complain about these stupid and pointless plots or they give us end times next.

How would a helmet do anything against a decapitation which is a neck wound?

I find this new dynamic between Ragnar and Ghaz pretty amusing as it actually looks like a nod to Highlander, with Blackmane "dying" and "being reborn" at the hands of the ork warlord just like MacLeod, and Ghaz mimicking the Kurgan with the stitches on his neck due to his own "almost death" .

Yeah, pretty much thanks.

Both models look pretty good! That's a great paint job on Ragnar though, which elevates that model a bit.

dude they've ALWAYS told stories in campaign books etc. Armageddon? had a story, the 13th black crusade had a story (that was retconned and given another story) the only differance now is that they're not trying to jam a billion events in front of the 13th black crusade.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

... you know what, that little detail actually makes me appreciate this story way more than I though, if only because "Gimme The Prize" would be an amazing theme for Thraka

Being stupid and pointless is the perfect summary of everything orks do - having the head cut off by a space viking, lost, found by a grot and then stapled back on by a doc is exactly what I expect from my greenskin fluff

I'm far more worried about factions that actually want to have a serious background.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

I'm kinda with you on this one, B. Ghaz is definitely not worth whatever bonkers inflated price they're gonna sell him for. And the pose is kinda weak, though the overall design is pretty good (the klaw arm especially is pretty well executed). As to wolfy-guy, he's good, but not dramatically better than other Primaris stuff coming out these days. And, again, probably not gonna be worth the asking price.
