Giving special characters special factions usually turns out badly. See Ynnari. Those characters basically only see the light of day now because they can be taken in non-Ynnari lists. Which doesn't seem likely to apply to Bile, given that the whole lore beyond the thing is that everybody hates him.
It does seem a really weird choice.

What kind of irritates me about this new Philanthropic Bill faction, is that as DG/ AC/Ass. player, I finally get my PA book, with all my factions in one book, only for Bill to steal the spotlight and even have 2 of the first 3 previews dedicated to him.

Yep.
Pretty sure Assassins, Sisters and Custodes at this point are only getting lip service. Its 3 days from the pre-orders opening up, and not a single detail available. All to hype up an overrated side-villain.

From the stream: Shield Hosts, with Warlord Traits, Relics and Strats for Custodes (so really more options that you can't use, great). Plus new Strats. Upgrade Shield Captain to Shield Commander (it's a Strat) and has extra abilities. Strat to pick a unit to make Heroic Interventions. Sisters of Silence in Custodes detachment without it being "soup". Assassins are also in there - WD rules reprinted in this book, with updates.

I believe thats just the new version of the White Dwarf one, probably they will be replaced. But it comes at the cost of paying for an auxiliary detachment.

I am.... not super impressed with the AC preview. The one change I felt warranted, SoS (at least the bolter one) into troops doesn't look to be happening. Instead strategems that aren't amazing and traits that aren't either compared to what we already have.

Very disappointing. Custodes needed army-wide buffs to be playable, not give them a bunch of relic/traits that mostly won’t be used, and a small buff to their characters (which were good anyway).
The rapid fire x2 strat is nice for things like storm bolter Aquilons, but this feels very meh overall

Shield Captains are already gonna be slow regardless, so I really don't know how much of a benefit it is, but it's still more than they had like a month ago so...

Not sure I would ever take more than one, but there's not a lot to choose from in terms of Relics for Custodes, funnily enough. I ran only a couple of games with them but I did use the Rapid Fire 3 one simply because for the guy camping with the shooters, it is a good melter of people trying to go nearby. The improved Overwatch I've never gotten much out of though, so maybe this one might be of the same use.

More juiced up bolter shots isn't going to help a ton. The same spear but rapidfire 2 and a damage 3 melee side would have been nice however.

Custodes should have had their Aegis of the Emperor changed to denying MWs on a normal armor save. Not a 6+ vs psychic MW.
They don't dish out MW and you can dish MW to them.
It wouldn't fix custodes but it would help.

It just seems really out of the blue, and unnecessary, especially since they did not even give a PA book release to two established factions (Harlies and DW).
Unless the rules are really good (not so far) I think a year from now people won't even remember that there is a Bile faction.

Having just 18" vs. the 24" version of Sisters/Templars/Khorne/Iron Hands/Graia/etc.. makes it much easier to play around, IMO.

Yeah but for Custodes you are really only concerned about offensive powers, i.e. mortal wounds, Death Hex, etc making range less of an issue. Sisters themselves are immune, so likely screening out for the important stuff but a re-rollable 3+ is an almost guaranteed deny.

All Death Guard pages leaked in German. Looking pretty fun, I like the fact that there's plenty of upgrade stratagems for the whole battle like giving Disgustingly Resilient to any unit (1 CP for 12 or less wounds, 2 CP for above) or 1 CP to give Lord of Contagion the reroll 1's aura.
Finally, my dreadnoughts don't have to weep in shame for being less sturdy than the terminators next to them
