Because there isn't any 'twist' or development here. You aren't watching a story or anything - you're just being shown pictures of unchanging plastic or resin. The same context and feeling do not apply.
There is a level of CONSOOMER brain I cannot understand. Literal worship of capital as like, idols.
But what is EVEN funnier, in my mind, is that people are going onto the NEWS AND RUMOURS section - and complaining about leaks and rumours.
"I'm excited to see what happens in Avatar 2 and discuss it with my friends after" - Someone puts the plot on line "Oh that's taken the shine off, guess I won't bother watching"
"I'm excited to see what they reveal in the 40k stream an interact with the streamers and other viewers" - Someone leaks it online "Oh that's taken the shine off, guess I won't bother watching"]
How are those different?
When I buy a movie, I wouldn't read the storyline before the purchase to make sure I will like the movie.
When I buy a model, I always take a look at pictures before the purchase to make sure I will like the model.
And the interaction with the stream is still there and new, if that's what you're after. But the stream isn't the product here, it's simply marketing. It's more like leaking a trailer for the movie, and that still doesn't ruin the movie in any way (other than what the trailer might spoil anyway)

Yes, they are. For them, the joyless series of advertisements is ... the highlight of their day.
Why do you feel a need to mock people for their enjoyment of a hobby - specifically on a site dedicated to the enjoyment and social interaction of people engaged with that hobby?
Because imo there is a bit more to the hobby than kind of mindlessly engaging with advertising.
The biggest indicator someone is a loser is them complaining about 3d printers or piracy.

Because being a donkey cave is the only joy they get in life, apparently.

Also you don't make a weighted or considered decision to put the time aside to partake, it's mindless if you do. You're a 200IQ giga-chad if you only get hobby info via leaks because you're sticking to the corporation or something.

If you just want Official news and releases and full pictures etc I suggest you only go to GW official site and expect that to be updated.
Honestly reasonable advice, but some etiquette or decorum has been utterly lost in here and it's become ok to mock peoples use of their free time as a form of rampant capitalism.

I mean no I get my news from the forum and checking the GW community site in the afternoon after work, because I have a healthy ability to not literally worship capital.

It's more that people were kind of using this thread to chat about what might happen and then we've started toget leaks where the entire release is being shown off in advance (not all here but there's a few bits and hints that the whole rest is being shown on other sites). It's less of a leak and more of a flood

There will be spoilers on Dakka and if you know that these spoilers will sour your excitement for the live Warhammer Fest reveals... stay off of Dakka until after GW is finished with their thing.
It's literally that simple.
GW & leaks, name a more iconic duo. We've had multiple codexes leaked in full this year, some before they were even officially announced. Let alone various model pictures of varying quality.
If someone is so desperate to avoid "spoilers" about Event X, why would they visit the Event X thread in the NEWS AND RUMOURS forum with just few hours to go before the official thing?
Wait there're people going to this forum section NOT because of the early leak and pics? Must be new here , pics leak hours or 1 day before revealed at these events is pretty common.

Sorry, let me get my holy GW cloth out and face Nottingham to pray by throwing fivers out the window as the stream comes on. Stop being a douche.
Here, i can simulate the authentic stream experience for y'all at home. Ready?
Stream begins. Two balding, greasy and slightly obease middle-aged men with the combined charisma of a wet paper bag are sitting in a room with cheap, tacky 40k themed decorations.
Greasus the Unwashed: "Uh, erm, er, welcome to the stream guuys, we uh, this is a very, the best most awesomest double-plus-good year for Warhammer(tm)(copyrighted) and Games Workshop(tm) ever (tm)!
Obeasen, the Woman-Deprived: "Yeah, are you guys uh, er, excited for all the totally awesomest things we're going to show you today?"
(This continues for about half an hour)
A medium-sized model finally gets revealed. It starts with a black screen. Soon enough, copyright-free rock music begins playing as the new model spins, with several jarring close-ups on random parts on the model accompanied by bright white flashes. Greasus and Obeasen come back on screen, accompanied by a .jpg of the model on white background, with a giant "REVEALED ON WARHAMMER FEST 2022" logo slapped on top, obsucring a good third of the model's lower half.
G: "Yeah, uh, aren't you guys totally super-excited about this totally bestest thing ever? We love it so much!"
O: "CONSUME CONSUME CONSUME CONSUME BUY PRODUCT BUY PRODUCT BUY PRODUCT-"
[Shillsoomer, 18:49]: "Wowzers, best Warhammer model ever! I'm going to have my wife's boyfriend buy me TWENTY!"
[AverageFantasyFan850, 18:49]: "Grrrr Games Workshop where is my Old World Reveal! This is worthless!"
[Rommel1939, 18:49]: (A paragraph's worth of the user's opinions on women and minorities, in a heavily gramatically dubious fashion)
G: "Yeah that was an awesomest, bestest totally the most wonderful reveal! And that's just the begining! Tune in for the future for the rest of the bestest, awesomest, super-duper bestest ever-"
The stream cuts off, as the two hosts begin foaming at their mouth before falling on the ground unconcious, out of their sheer and pure LOVE for any PRODUCT and CAPITALISM. The events ends for today, after two hours and a single reveal.

You asked how these things are different, I answered that, and I think you get the point, so you're now moving the goal posts.
You're robbing yourself of that excitement if you hang out in a board called News & Rumour, constantly checking the thread even though you are perfectly aware that the presentation is not live yet.
I hate trailers for movies, so I always dodge them when a trailer comes up as an ad for a movie I plan on watching - it's really not that hard.

Personally I don't care either way and won't be able to watch it live so it has no bearing on me, but I didn't move the goalpost so much as you were missing the point before.

So people just want x amount of leaks Is that it?
I dont think thats how these clearly labeled forum threads or even internet works since errr ever.
The behaviour you just mentioned is the equivalent of someone googling "potatoes" getting Potatoes hits and being upset of so many potatoes links
Getting mad about these leaks but not others makes zero sense.
I'd say that outrage over leaks is 'peak Dakka', but I'm not one of those members who likes treat Dakka as some kind of constantly self-contradicting hive mind. So instead I'll say this:
Grow some perspective people. These leaks are no different to any other. Getting mad/high and mighty over this would be like getting super angry that the Tyranid Codex leaked a month or so early.
As has been said, this isn't a movie plot or television finale. This isn't some jackass screaming 'Snape kills Dumbledore!' at the line of people waiting to buy the latest Harry Potter book. It's static miniatures and no different to any other leak.
From my perspective these are nothing more than more useful rumour engine pics, and actually make me more hopeful of what we're going to see.
Gert wrote: Leakers aren't people annoyed at GWs business choices, they're self serving prats looking for clout. After how bad the leaks have been recently I wouldn't be surprised if GW stops doing preview products. People didn't stop being mad at GW either, this site proves that every day.
The leaks so far have served no real purpose but making people annoyed and perpetuating the cycle of negativity. Instead of getting the full and accurate picture we have pages upon pages of people getting angrier and angrier because someone decided to leak random parts of a Codex.

Not nearly enough filler, we've got to stretch this stream out to 30-40 minutes per mini, my dude.
