There was definitely some splintering among the casual players (especially at the club I played in at the time), but they made up a small part of the overall local community

Despite the overwhelmingly negative response, Bugeater hasn’t back pedaled on the Eldar banning yet. They did lock the replies on their announcement post though.

Big old price jump didn’t help matters much either. When I was collecting during 1st Ed, I could usually source a fighter sized craft for around £9, give or take. Now? £14.00.

When like many up-and-comers part of your appeal is “cheaper than GW”, “doing a GW” is always going it be a risk. Warmahordes did it, and died. X-Wing did it. And all but died. Armada I personally never bothered with because Eff Those Prices.

On the bright side, "Gravis Captain w/Heavy Bolt Rifle" is no longer a separate datasheet.

Huh, regular SM Captains can now take hand flamers and inferno pistols.

I thought those were Blood Angels exclusive?

Reaver Armour isn't even a thing! That's Phobos armour FFS. One has two knives and one has a single one. That is obviously the sort of thing that should have been combined into one sheet.

Blood Angels in the conventional sense don't exist as a separate army anymore, for now. You play SM with a BA-themed detachment.

It was split out in the last book, inexplicably. Initially it was a single sheet.

Grav weapons are a bit crazy in the face of vehicle improvements. Bad AP, but wounding vehicles on 2+ with damage 2 (or 3 for grav cannons) is just dumping wounds out.

Grav is now also thematically inconsistent (as it operates on mass, but only if you're a vehicle, not e.g. a large monster) and will probably be broken by some sort of leader or other thing that gives your units triggered abilities... Getting Devastating Wounds on grav somehow will be pretty disgusting.

They can, but it doesn't do anything.
You can only use a second weapon if it has [extra attacks]

That will be fun next week when chaos lords... don't.


They're also really smashy. Angels wrath ability + honor vehement enhancement + honor the chapter stratagem (which is free) + assault doctrine.
Have a pile of S11 attacks with a power fist, some extra AP and some bonuses for the rest of the unit on top.

The non-Primaris LT model is a pure kitbash. That's a little funny. Its an old assault marine torso with some tactical arms and a red stripe painted on the helmet.
