Gave the first 8 minutes a fair crack of the whip and it was okay, despite the Marvel logo. Wouldn't go out of my way to see it, mind.

The first 8 min is fine. You see him do a bit of his running around and climbing stuff and being crazy Kraven. But like... whatever. It's a Sony spiderman project. If it's not a Spiderverse movie it's crap.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

This review is too good not to share:

Apparently this is a real line from the movie:
“She died soon after, and I never saw her again.”

I think it was originally supposed to come out before Madame Webb, though I could be mistaken.

That's amazing.

Also, just saw this on the Kraven wikipedia page :

In November, a commercial aired during the 2024 NFL season featuring members of the Baltimore Ravens, particularly kicker Justin Tucker who suggested renaming the team the "Baltimore Kravens".

And now Justin Tucker, who is consistently the best kicker in the league, is having the worst season of his career. It could be because he's injured or at the tail end of his career, or the stink of this movie is contagious. I'm blaming the movie.

That would honestly make a lot of sense. There are a lot of plot elements of Madame Webb that are taken from "The Grim Hunt" storyline. There's definitely a possibility that they were intended to be more closely tied at one point.

The only thing that's sad about Sony finally closing this godawful chapter of trying to squeeze the Spiderman IP for characters is that we won't get the obligatory ensemble cast that they would inevitably try to do in aping the MCU and DCEU in their own "avengers/JL" squad. I can't imagine how comedically cringey and terrible the dialogue would be between all the actors from Kraven, Morbius, and Madame Web. It'd be basically porn parody level writing and I'm morbidly curious in another universe if this was greenlit how bad that would be.

Whatever happened to the Michael Keaton Vulture? I thought he was going to pop up after his cameo in Morbius.

The sad part is you've probably put in more thought into this than the actual writers would have lol.

I’m already under the weather and crashed on the couch, let’s add on a bit more suffering! Watched Kraven. Story and plot are… mediocre at best. But it has some entertaining action scenes. It is kind of amusing watching him go thru henchmen like a terminator with a gold medal in gymnastics. I would say this is definitely better than Borderlands.

I keep forgetting that Kraven came out. It wasn't like Morbius, which was so horrible that my friends went to see ot due to how bad it was supposed to be.

Kraven just kinda faded into the background.

That’s because we had Venom, and Venom was supposed to be terrible, but it ending up being weirdly fun and stupid in a popular way. Morbius came along and it… wasn’t. It had the hype of being the Venom followup but ended up Being a joke instead of making them. Then we got Madam Web and it was just bad (reportedly, I haven’t suffered myself thru this one yet) and now our pattern is showing that Venom was just an outlier. So when Kraven comes along there’s no good will left, it doesn’t look interesting, and everyone’s over the Morb’n Time joke so it doesn’t even generate the Web disdain and just kind of shrivels on the vine.

Having watched Madame Web the other day?

It ain’t great, but it’s not completely without merit. Unlike Morbius, which remains utterly dire.

Shocker needs his own movie. I mean he is a professional and that's the way I like him, he doesn't have some trauma or revenge schizo theme, he's Shocker, he shocks people, that's what he does, but I hope we get a heist movie for him, where he plans to rob New York's largest bank, and we see him dropout of high school and make the gauntlets in his crappy apartment, and his roommate just gets his bones finely turned to dust as he just got a fully force shot of a shock wave. Then he robs the bank with the help with some c listers, and this is pre-spiderman so we just get some c list vigilante

It would be incredibly entertaining to see Shocker fight Darkhawk, and ultimately defeat him. Especially if Darkhawk is reimagined as an anime fan that is convinced the Darkhawk suit is like the Guyver armor, or works off of Sentai rules, and does poses while calling out his attacks. And Shocker is just calmly and efficiently taking him apart, or disabling him long enough to complete his heist.

Hell yeah, 2 high schoolers fighting each other, Darkhawk just screaming, "HAWK HACK" and Shocker just shocks trying to get his gauntlets to turn on after they mess up, and it's completely one sided with Herman just dodging Hawks kicks and punches then just decides to suck punch him and that's all it takes to knock him out.
