Wonder why there isn't anything for World Eaters.

For smaller incursion games the Wardogs make sense in this regard.

For larger games where the opposition is more likely to be filling out their list with tanks and monsters, they should be the odd supporting unit.

Chaos Daemons: Daemonic Pact is Only for CSM and Chaos Knights
We knew this was coming but with Death Guard and World Eaters out and Thousand Sons right around the corner the change is finally here: You can only take Daemonic allies from the Daemons index if you are Chaos Space Marines or Chaos Knights. If you want to take allies with one of the cult legions, you’ll have to use their special Detachment for it.

That's not actually a new change; they'd already published that a few weeks ago.

Glad they're not replacing the kit for the SW Venerable Dread.

Hounds of Morkai being removed is an interesting choice.

Getting the Wolf Priest back is nice, but why pull the Stormfang (or Wolf Scouts)?

How do these supplemental codexs work? Can they have captains as wolf lord and librarians as rune priests? Can they have all the tanks etc? Is 5ere a list of what’s allowed and what’s not?

because the space in the codex is limited and it is much more important to have 3 different Dreadnoughts and 2 different Wulfen in there instead of Wolfscouts and the Stormfang

Whats wild is that the Stormfang/Stormwolf is a fairly recent kit, but then again so were the Hunter/Stalker when GW cut them.

Hounds of Morkai are just Reivers w/ a different name.

Heck GW even almost cut Karnack as well.

I wonder if there's some staffer somewhere in the process just cutting out models based on page count without any consideration for anything else so its almost a random lottery.

I assume its being dictated by sales of a given sku. If kits arent moving enough volume to meet or maintain profitability the bean counters tell them to cut it.

no new kit means they are gone (which was clear from the teaser already with new units) and replaced with the generic Primaris option, just like the tanks and scouts

Well that means I can get the regular SM Dreads and wolf them up a bit.

New army box for preorder will probably beat all records and be sold out in -1 secs.

If the terrain is reasonable, it may be worth picking up some more. Also hoping for more MTO terrain runs, really could use a bunch of battle sanctums.

No Wolfspear transfers is an affront. BA successors got a few lately, given how generous the SW update is compared to BA I expected WS representation, those official ones are too rare.

So then tey'll just get used as
a) Legends units if they get Legends stats,
b) stubby Primaris dreads

lets see if they still exist
Space Wolves having successor chapters was because the Primaris solving the genetic flaws
Now with them just being a scale up and the flaws being back, we will see what this means for Wolves

I wonder what other vehicles they loose? I've been out of the general SM loop for a while, but what about landraiders (all varients), vindicators, rhinos, razorbacks, predators, etc.

See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:

Those are in the Space Marine codex, so they'll still have access to them.

Do you believe they will entirely drop SW dreads? Its kind of one of the SW things to have cool character dreads.

If thats the case I would have to be clever with the current Redemptor, brutalis and ballistus dread.

It was also a cool Blood Angel thing... Until it wasn't. I'd hate to predict what will or won't stick around or be reintroduced later.

To be fair the Wolves had it first with Bjorn the Left Handed.

Kind of surprised if the Storm Wolf is gone, it's one of the better looking marine fliers, certainly better than the Storm Raven/Chibi Hawk. Just a nice utilitarian flying Higgins Boat. I think GW erred by making it Wolfs only.

Im mostly joking about things being squatted, mostly... but im someone who doesmt like wasting money on things that become desk ornaments, so im actively avoiding any pre-8th marine units because im of the belief theyll all eventually be primarisized.
