Not bad! Malys is a welcome return. And the new Archon is a welcome improvement on the current “lol, I’ve been mummified” one.

Archie is probably my favourite mini from that faction. Lovely model and looks fun to paint up.

Malys is very 'basic Warrior armour with some stuff stitched on' for what she could have been (clearly Yvraine...)

Yeah. Malys, by current GW standards, is rather under-stated. Like her. Face is a little bland though.

New archon is fantastic. Surprised they've replaced the old one so soon - but then again he was properly gak. New one is very much hearkening back to the prior old model, which I never managed to pick up but loved...

Real issue with DE at the moment is the rules though. Please, GW, just don't make them bland. Give us back the special weapons, weird and wonderful gadgets, underhanded tricksy rules, and so on.

Guess it's another three to five years before we'll get another shot at new Kabalites (Wyches at least have a slight chance of appearing in Kill Team).

I like this plastic version of the old metal Archon.

On the upside Valrak's recent DE rumours about the range refresh next edition also correctly called the 10E combat patrol contents, so it's looking more likely that new toys are on the way.

No one deserves to have their army eliminated. If you don’t like the aesthetics or themes or anything about a faction, then don’t collect them.
But don’t crap on other people for enjoying what you don’t.

Malys' face just looks too human, not the typical elf-y features.

Malys face is perfect for a day of the dead makeup.
Not unexpected, but the new guys looks really bloated and upscaled next to the old minis.

Not sure how the recent Mandrakes scale up to the new characters.

To be fair GW has introduced quite a few new kits over the last two or three editions - between 40K and Kill Team...

Kabalite kill team, with funny options.

New Archon kit.

...while Imperial Knights went without in 9th edition and Harlequins haven't seen a new kit since 7th or 8th edition. And to add insult to injury, they even released a Harlequin for Imperial Agents! Bloody cheek of it! I think Sisters of Silence got the cold shoulder as well...

One thing I must say for the new Archon is that they got rid of that silly James Bond pose. Malys is also cool, but she looks more like a Corsair Queen than a Dark Eldar. I wouldn't mind kitbashing it as a Troupe Master, as the pose is amazing...

I disagree, every single faction other than space marines should be squatted. Everything only about the space marines and primarchs and gold space marines. In fact, to facilitate this, the setting should go back, and go into a time period where no one was thinking about xenos, like a sorta heresy, and we’ll name it after some primarch, call it the John heresy or something. Finally an opportunity to expand on the lore and story of the most underrepresented faction.

With Lady Malys on tow (bit too sane for my taste):

Pity there is no clear view of her chest. Wasn't she supposed to have been won a crystal heart (and blade) from a figure that might have been the Laughing God? She had to carve out her own heart and replace it with the gifted heart. Wonder if they will reference this event or this gift with her background or actual stats. I'm guessing her sword is the blade she won.

She seems to have a heart-shaped pendant around her neck. Maybe the "replacing her heart" thing was either not literal, or retconned to not be (and pretty boring if that pendant is what you say it's supposed to be. Would have loved to see some insane open heart model with the gift inside and all!)

Also the face looks like it belong in the Catay range somehow.

Is this the same fan carrying Dark Eldar that was leaked a while ago, or was that a different model?

I loved the suggestion of Day of the Dead facepaint- the Raging Heroes Day of the Dead Sisters are really cool. Not that I have the painting skills to make that happen, but it's a cool idea, and Malyce does have the face for it.

I've been noticing this with newer Eldar faces. They used to have the angled almond shaped eyes. Now they look like pointy eared humans. I also think Malys slightly looks like Shadowheart from BG3.

Maybe they don't have Jes Goodwin sculpting and designing Eldar anymore.

It's odd, because the faces on the new Archon fit perfectly! Maybe it's the paintjob, giving her a fuller face and taking away the cheekbones.

I don't think it's just the paintjob, the updated eldar guardians have the same issue. This artwork kinda shows what I mean about the eyes.
