I'm playing with a can of spray chrome and realizing that it wouldn't look very good on Grey Knights.

Packing for a 4 day camping trip with plans to:

Assemble 14 Marvel Crisis Protocol, 14 Astra Militarum and x1 54mm Iquisitor game models.

Do the basing material on 32 Astra Militarum models.

All to be put in a box to take with me.
My production line of minis is running low so a weekend of assembly and prep is very much needed.

I worked on the One Page Rules 2 player starter last night.

5x Human Defense Force painted.
5x Hiveswarm base coated.

All using contrast paints.

The HDF designs lend themselves better to it than the swarm. Swarm will need further detailing & maybe highlights to finish.

A note: AP Speedpaint Metallic Broadsword Silver is a joy to use! A coat over the entire rifle and it looked amazing!

Worked on the Age of Fantasy Saurian Hero last night. Using AP Speedpaint 2.0 again.
The Hoplite Gold was nice, but the Shamrock Green was not the right choice, much too bright!

Hgihlighted the Alien Hive Warrior Hero with a Cultist Purple & Dragon Red over the Purple Swarm and Slaughter Red Speedpaint from last time.
I need to settle on a paint scheme for the Hive. The other 4 models all have different color starts

Haven't posted here for awhile, but been doing hobby stuff a bit. I'm working on some more Mantic Terrain Crate Firefight ruins, or trying, as it's been crappy as hell weather where I'm in in NZ right now. Rain, quite a lot of it, and humidity is high, so the wash I'm applying on them is taking ages to dry. So I've been mostly writing my Sci fi novel which is Seven Samurai, but in a sci fi western world but the main characters are up against body horror cyborgs. Been quite productive at that, lol

"The best way to lie is to tell the truth." Attelus Kaltos.
My story! Secret War
After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. So much so even the veteran Anargrin is forced into desperate speculation. But worst of all: drive him into desperate measures. Measures which drives Anargrin to wonder; does the ends, justify the means?

Rooting through my bitz box of old 2e, 3e and 5e Marines to cobble together another tactical squad and a command squad. Pretty happy with the banner bearer especially, was a bit of fiddly drilling to give him a wire banner pole that was the right height and I cut an old marine hand in half to make a 3D Fist emblem to go over the Easterling symbol that was on the banner before so it works as a company banner for my Crimson Fists.

Got 100 marines now, a full company, almost all scavenged from old 2e models and starter set kits from 3e, 5e and 6e.
4 tactical squads
10 scouts
1 devastator squad
10 assault marines
15 Terminators
5 command squad
8 bikers (including an attack bike)
1 Techmarine
1 Chaplain
1 Company Champion
2 Captains, 1 in Terminator Armour
2 Librarians

Got a land raider storm, a dreadnaught and a land speeder as well. Next on my to do is to papercraft a bunch of old school rhinos and use some left over bits to make a whirlwind and a predator. The only thing I bought new for the army was the speeder, because I think it's a great model.

Having a "full company" was something I vaguely daydreamed about as a kid so it's nice to be nearly there!

A fun weekend of building, that.

Soon as the Thanatar is cured, I’ll be heading to the spray box to start work.

Late to the party, but last week I did my first ever 3d printing. Nothing sophisticated or over the top, I did them one at a time. 😅 One head from Statuesque Miniatures and a few minis I made through Hero Forge.

And painted up one of them for future BattleTech stuff, meet sergeant Florence Saunders:

Wednesday night I worked on the Age of Fantasy OPR starter. Got base coats of Sppedpaint down on the Saurians and Mummified UnDead.

Saturday was a build day.
I had a bunch of limited/commemorative editions sitting around.
Unit of warriors of Carn Dum for LotR.
Kamoteph the Crooked
Hasmoteph the Resplendent
Sergeant Jovan
300th store Sergeant
Bawla & Burk RatKillas Orruk Boss
Orc Shaman & Black Orc Bigboss for TOW

Planning to finish those OPR starters the next chance I get. I got sloppy toward the end of the paint session & i have to clean up some areas.

So my pile clearing went on hiatus for a bit because I got an itch to finish something that has been sitting in a box on my hobby room floor since November. I told myself I pulled it out to paint but never got around to it. But now in a heat of cleaning up I saw it and decided to just bang it out. you know, since I already had my craft paint out that I use for terrain projects.

Behold! a Bakery for D&D and just general Warhammer terrain. Its part of my village project that I've been working on for the last 2 years or so. I have a few more houses and general scatter terrain I need to add. Also might work on a river but not sure if I'm going to craft that myself or get it 3d printed.

Whole thing was done in cheap craft paint and homemade wash. Pretty easy overall, its just doing the roof that was a bit of a slog.

1st, hit a hardware store on the way to the shop.
I need some "bitz" for a project I'm working on.
Several large screws, some grating etc.

2nd, finish building the cab section of 3 Ridgehauler cargo vehicles.

3rd, begin fitting the various bitz from #1 to the Haulers.
