Can you change a thread title? How?

I think I've noticed some thread titles change, eg when people updated a fandex and said so in the thread title. How do you do this... and does it screw anything up? I've worked for a website where changing the title after publication broke links and reset viewer numbers because the URL automatically changed as well.

Edit the original post and change the title there.

You need to use the edit button to edit the first post (a double click edit will not give you the option to change the title).

Changing the title will not mess anything up in terms of coding/links etc, though it can confuse the hell out of someone who is looking for your thread, especially if you change the starting words of the title

Thanks. I used it to add a little more description to the thread titles for my second and third short stories.

Doing so also "bump's" the thread to the top of the recent thread's page I believe.

Interesting. I posted in each saying, "hey, I changed the thread title, don't be confused", so I can't tell if just changing the title would've bumped them up or not...

I don't think it does. I sometimes change my PLog's thread title while I am waiting for my images to upload to the gallery and I am pretty sure it never goes up the page until I add a new post to the end.

Yeah, editing a post won't bump it.
