Why do I really want somebody to come up with rules for Burnagrots in Space Hulk now?

I'd love a recipe for skin! Right now I just use Goblin green, camo green highlights and thrakka green (or baddab black if I'm out) as a wash. I'd love my grots to look like yours.

Llamahead: What's holding you back?

killykavekommando: first, DA green over a black undercoat
knarloc green wetbrush
2/3 knarloc green + 1/3 bleached bone
1/3 knarloc green + 2/3 bleached bone
bleached bone + a bit of knarloc green
a wash consisting of 1/3 thraka green, 1/3 gryphonne sepia, 1/3 water or ogryn flesh wash, depending on taste

Now, piccie time! I got 5 more regular grots done, leaving me with 2 regulars to paint for my 1750 list.





Now, it's back to the burnagrots!

For piccies today, I give you my PIP burnagrots. I hope to get these finished by the end of the week. I need my modelling shot badly, too much paint



The grots themselves are 99% done, and I've made a start on the metallics for the suits. Still a way to go, but quite doable.

They're coming along nicely, CK - these are the last three, correct?

It seems everyone feels the same pain.

I'll model for hours, but when it comes to painting... ehh...

Modeling is fast and furious. Cutting, slicing, gluing. Its like fingerpainting as a kid.

Painting is a slow exacting process that's meant for adults and people who don't have 5 year old attention spans (which I have).

I love both, but it always seems easier just to sit down and model than to get out the brushes, wet palette, water for washing etc.... :/

Dysartes: Correct, these are the final three. Well, for this edition, that is, if the leaked rulebook is correct on firing from vehicles and the "flamers in assault" thingy, I may need 5 more. But for now, I'll try and spend my remaining sanity on other things than burnagrots.

Arakasi: You are a true seer, sir . Luckily, a solution is at hand since I still need few grots with remotes for my second loota unit.

SelvaggioSaky: Same here. Well, I put that goal up once I pretty much had everything built, so don't know if that counts... The odd thing is, made sure I got lots of basc grots painted becasue I dind't want to paint them all in the end, but now I'm stuck with my elites. There's less of them, though, so that's good news

monkeytroll: the wise old ork warned me for you... Pistons may be a tad off, but I'l be doing some modelling shortly anyway.

Goresaw: modelling is the rollercoaster ride, painting is the slow drive that gets you to your destination: losing patience just sets you back further

I must say, they're quite a sight here in my mini cabinet, all ten of'em. This was the unit that intimidated me the most when it came to painting, but in the end I'm pretty proud of them. Now, back to the plastic crack (<-- maniacal, relieved laughter)
