Hey n0t_u,
been linked to your blog a couple times from the dakka homepage and must say really enjoying your work
I love seeing the ideas develop and the schemes you pick out. I especially love the pink wraiths and that is in fact a colour I will be using on part of my eldar force. Can I ask, what methods are you using? are they washes your applying?

Thanks everyone, looks like I'll stick with the snow like originally planned.
Here's three of them so far.
I could do more of the gems, but I think It'll be better to limit them in this case with the blue being an accent colour but used fairly sparingly to not take away from it too much.

Well mostly it's been a combination of layering and some drybrushing. I start with a clean Screamer Pink over the top of a black undercoat then build that up through layers of Horror Pink to Emperor's Children which becomes the darkest colour you should be seeing. I then use VGC Squid pink to start brightening it up again with the final top layer being a 1:1 of that to white. Finally at the very end I just give the upper most areas a quick light dusting of white with some drybrushing.
With the Daemons earlier I was applying some purple wash to shade with a thin brush as I tend to do on a bunch of things since then, but with these Wraiths I sort of liked the brightness of it overall so haven't actually washed the pink. The only washing they get is some black on the grey areas then with a thin brush into some of the recesses of the white to clean it up a little.
For the Sakura just straight black for the branches first then it's actually Emperor's Children with VGC Squid pink after that so it has a little shading to it.

Thanks for the info and for the new pics of em all I do love the sakura (assuming that is the tree), its a really nice touch. I agree with what you said about not over doing the gems, i assume your going to go for an icy blue to accentuate? is that what you were mentioning? - which is funny, as my eldar will be painted in a mock of slaneesh scheme.... pinks and blues aha nice to see the same scheme but taking it a slightly different route. Making me excited to get down painting!
I havent actually seen your demons! time to go page rummaging!
Oh Wow, absolutely in love with your brach wraiths as pink horrors! ive got some hidden somewhere that I was thinking about cutting up and using to add a more ghosty feel to my wraithguard (when i finally buy the kit!). However something I found really fun when making my branch wraith models is to cut the legs a little shorter, then use the cut off bits and stick them to the base. Even take and arm into the ground too, it gives them a great feel as if they are rising out of the floor.
loving the deamonettes too gona keep browsing

Sort of batched these two together and going alright. This is how they are so far.
Also got another box of Wraithguard yesterday which will complete this squad I think. 10 with wraithcannons seems like a good idea for a foot squad, but still thinking of the numbers. The plan for this list is two main squads of cannons with maybe some smaller D-scythe support squads, maybe 5 man would be a good number for them then I'd have wraithlord/knight support with two crimson hunters for their mobility and filling up the weakness against flyers and generally being quick to stop them from being bombarded all game by tanks. Not that great, but will be from models I like the look of so I'll have to make it work myself.
It'd be better if I were to put serpents in this, but I'm going with a foot based list so avoiding them. Also without the tanks I think this should all fit in the case I got for it a while ago nicely. The knight and two hunters though, maybe not so I'd have to see after getting the first. Then it depends on what I'd like more, the wraithlords I think I'll be making for anti-infantry support while the knight is anti-vehicle support. Things to think about as well are if the hunter should be an exarch with starcannons instead of the default bright lances, being somewhat still effective against lower armour like 10-11 for anti-flyer but also adding in better elite infantry hunting.

The base rims? I'm thinking they should be cleaned up black then adding a colour mark to the back to denote squad. I had been thinking of grey though.

Hey looking sweet, I myself am in need of some wraiths, but I need 7, which is a totally gay number :( as I need 2 boxes, of which 3 wont get use GAH!
In terms of footslogging them, id go with a spiritseer for sure, and run it iyanden suppliment. Giving them battle focus and some support from casting. You can then hope for invisibility to make your sloggers only hit on 6's. Id then make one wraithknight your warlord. In terms of fliers, you might be right, with two wraithknights you've got 4 STR 10 shots a turn, perhaps some high shot rate starcannons will be more effective than lances.
this is similar to my list im building, except minus the fliers and a kinght and ive taken DE - duke sliscus with raiders, deepstriking the tantalus. you could consider bringing wave serpents, i know your not too keen on it, but if your list is struggling with mobility it would be a great way to get those weapons up the field, as they are ranther short range :/

That's half of the main squad done now.
And here's the entire squad together for the first time.
I actually like the idea of having several spiritseers through the list as it'd let me keep the wraiths going longer, plus lets me have a collection of unique looking characters. I'm not as sure on the shuriken cannon lords as I was, figure they would walk up and give supporting fire, having flamers for when they get charged or attacking in cover and then they'd do a majority of their damage in melee. But I don't think they were ever that great in close combat to begin with compared to their shooting.
As for the hunter, reading it again it's only one per detatchment that can be made the exarch with the option for starcannons which makes me think if I should just run one of them actually.

Got a lot of basing done and the model I had ordered to replace the Bonesinger while it was lost arrived so I worked on that for a bit. All ready for priming, just wasn't such a great time to prime. The Wraithknight is also ready to be reprimed and painted, going to just go over the top of what I had since it was thin; the size of it doesnt quite make it easy to strip in the first place...
The seer is Fallen Angel Dinnah from Anima Tactics.
Instead of attaching the back piece to it I noticed with a little work the head fin from a wraithblade actually fits there perfectly. I'm not sure what else to do with it, I was looking at adding shoulder guards made from the leg armour pieces the wraithblades have, but they're a bit big and bulky; which doesn't quite fit in with being a seer. Nor can it go too fancy or it'll look more like a farseer. The staff, I don't really have any bits for at the moment; plus it gets a bit repetitive having them all have sticks and I think they'd be able to get away without having them. I'm pretty sure I have a shuriken pistol around somewhere I could see about adding to it. I could have her as sort of a reference to Iyanna Arienal as I have a spear from the dire avenger kit still.

Got the layer of Screamer Pink down (some horror on the knight as well), figuring I'd try to batch these more by step and post pictures to show the transition of the pink from start to the end.
Now the local GW has an army building challenge to 1500 that ends with a tournament, but I'm not all that interested in it. But, I'm going to build to 1500 at first to start with so it's an option.
The list I'm looking at at the moment after finally figuring it out is this:
1500
2 Spiritseer
10 Wraithguard
10 Wraithguard
Wraithknight
Wraithlord
2 shurikencannon, flamers
Wraithlord
2 shurikencannon, flamers
Crimsonhunter
Exarch, starcannons
Originally I had the lords with dual scatter laser, because 8 s6 ap6 shots at 36" seemed like reasonable anti-infantry support while everything moves up; however that worked with the hunter being standard. Dropping them down to 6 s6 ap5 "rending" shots at 24" seems like a better deal when it also makes the hunter able to join in hunting elite infantry better as well as vehicles still. Less effective at over armour 12 I think, but I think I need that balance more that 4 s8 shots. I'll be going with the Iyanden supplement with the standard WK as the warlord of course, the seers will be sitting in the guard units hopefully keeping them going longer. I wanted to use scythes, but this army felt like it would be too low in numbers if I did; it'd cost each of those squads 100 total; I realise smaller squads would be beneficial with them rather than full 10 man squads, but with everything else in there they just don't fit in yet. Maybe when they get extended to 1850-2000.

Back again, been busy in life and can blame Warframe as well for me not getting painting done for a while. It's a fun F2P game I'd recomend to anyone who likes scifi shooters.
Anyway birthday came and went and got some good stuff to add into this army so figured it'd be good enough for an update for now. Also that I'd want to build them pretty soon.
Means I need to get back to painting after I come back from my trip on the weekend, but I've been looking forward to having and working on a crimson hunter so I'll probably work on that first to break up painting wraiths so much.
Got some minecraft stuff too which is pretty cool.

Got the crimson hunter built and ready to base and such. The stand is not glued in cause I'm sort of sane when it comes to trying to transport things.
It'll hold in there well enough, but I'm thinking maybe if I can find some magnets and fix it up though that's not needed. I didn't magnetise the starcannons in since I figure I'll just stick with the brightlances, but I could probably take them off then magnetise them at this point if I wanted to as well. Or just play it as lances if I wanted to.

The knight looks crazy. Love the duel blue and grey you went with. The base looks great as well. Like it's in a big hanger bay ready for transporting. Don't quite know how you get the extensive dry brushing to work for you so well. Most people can't get heavy drybrushing to look good. But you do. Pink and white wraithguard/knight is an interesting choice. Strikes me as kind of Japanese in theme. I like it.
