OK, I have my crazy Inquisition IG to finish, then my genesteal Cult (count as Nids) so my calendar is full for the rest of 2009 at least.

But that doesn't stop the thoughts from coming...

This is an army I've wanted to do forever, my IG SWAT teams are a substitute but not the real thing. And with the new IG book it's finally do-able.

1 platoon using Mordians as beat cops.

I always liked the idea of maxing out on artillery. With Griffons this is doable, because they are relatively inexpensive (not to mention more accurate when indirect firing!). It would be really fun against a non-mech warrior to see all the pieplate spam. 9 templates a turn, fired out of LOS.

Fun but you won't be able to hide all of them.

For some real pie plate spam you need valks with rocket pods and vets or special weapon teams with demo charges.

So turn 1 you're firing 3 pie plates per... as many as 27 on turn 1.
Then on turn 2 you're down to just 18 pie plates.
throw in Rambo and the officer of the fleet for more fun.

Darn.

Those space pirates are looking mighty tempting around now.

Actually, I'm already a pretty good ways down the road with this army...to be started when my Mech army gets done this summer.

Lucky you >.< when i tried that army in the previous codex ( 12 sentinels, all AV 10 ) it was tear sheddingly bad lol.

Ork Blood Axe Kompany (Count as Imperial Guard)

I have the fluff of 4 characters and the main setting so far, plus a good 10 pencil sketches with ideas.

I was always tempted by a blood axe Warboss (after several narrow defeats at the hands of Space Marines) somehow acquiring a Space Marine Codex/Lexicon and patterning his new Mob after them. All Nobs with armored trukks in 'eavy armor, "...just like dem beakie oomies do it." Much more uniform with Kommandos as scouts. Of course the old BS of 2 would hurt but the army would look cool.

I did a similar army a few years back, using 2nd ed. Stormboyz and Catachan arms/weapons. I loved them, but sold them.

I once built a squad of Blobs. Blobs = intelligent slime, absorbing objects and getting bigger and bigger ( reference to a lot of B-movies...)
I have various conversions, including a blob absorbing a white, hollywoodstyle garden-trench.

Dark Adeptus army that is all twisted servitors. Basically it would be WFB beastmen, centigors, minotaurs, etc with bionic parts and heavy weapons. The boss would be a cyberized Bloodthirster.

The beta is out right now, available here: http://www.reapergames.com/wl2/ . They completely redid magic, as well as dropping DV's and hit tracks across the board. I'm loving them, and I can't wait to start demo'ing (course, I have magic heavy Elves and Crusaders).

I'd love to make either an Eldar or IG 'stealer cult or a LatD army.

I'm always tempted to do Orks, but will refrain.

I'm also very tempted to do a Word of Blake force for BTech, and that will get done eventually as I already have about 16 'Mechs for that force, just need some Celestials and some more armour.

I was always thinking of doing an IG army inspired by the GLA from Command and Conquer: Generals. Hydra Flak Tanks would be trucks with quad cannons, Bane Wolves would be tractors that fire a stream of toxins, and Basilisks would be SCUD launchers loaded with Anthrax.

Things I want to do, but will probably never get the capital for:

My Death Korp of Krieg 1k list
Ordo Xenos, SM counts-as 1.5k list
A Slaaneshi CSM segment to my army
An orky version of Firefly, with Lootas and a Battlewagon
A proper Cities of Death board

Thanks! I only ever painted 3 elves and 3 mercenaries, so let's see if the game makes

An effective close-combat tau army... I don't know if it's possible, but I read somewhere about a guy who was dominating a bunch of tournaments with them. No idea how the heck you'd manage it though. It really would catch people off guard, they'd be so overconfident that they'd (if the tau close-combst actually worked) be utterly slaughtered.

I am thinking about putting together a full conversion "high tech" IG army.. with 8 converted Venerable Dreads (Hydras, LRBT), Chimeras converted into hovercraft. Not sure what with the troop guys, maybe Elysian drop troops + Eldar bodies.

I wonder how well it would look.. having trouble getting dimensions for any of these things though, and no LGS where I am.

And then the other side of my Imperial Guards (United Nations of Ava / UN looks cool in the future!) , the Heavy Support artillery + heavy weapon teams (Lascannon , Auto Cannon) and Veteran squad.



And the GueVesa section of my Tau ( animals only so kroot and angry banana eaters ) Fire warrior wont be assembled until i either settle with beastmen head
or do something about the saurus head that doesnt really fit -_- . From back to front : Kroot ox, kroot carnivore , 6 Broad sides, 5 crisis suits.
