Anyway, Just in case I fancy some serious anti-heavy-infantry firepower I whomped up an executioner with plasma cannon sponsons.

That's a Leman Russ Exterminator, yes? If it is, shouldn't it be on a Leman Russ hull?

Either way, it's a great job. I love the kit bashing you did there.

It probably should be, if I didn't detest the LR hull so much. Hence my brace of shortened Chimera chassis MBTs.

i too am not happy with the LR hull. im looking into doing something like this as well with the FW executioner turret.

It looks good, but it just doesn't feel right without the large profile of the Leman Russ. It's funny though, because the angular design of the Predator turret fits very well with the Chimera body, but the Imperial designs have been drilled into my head so hard that it looks bulky. I dunno, the more I look at it, the more I like it. Once its painted I'm sure it'll look perfectly natural.

what did you use to make the main gun. You did not really take the photos at an angle were you can see it very well.

Thanks. I actually bought them from GW about 4 years ago when you could still buy separate sprues from them. If you're just after the turrets I would recommend checking out E-bay or one of the bitz merchants online. You can usually get a tank sprue for £5-10.

I'm not sure what the difference in height between my versions and the official Russ, however the Chimera based tanks look a lot more squat, and I like that

There are more pictures of my Executioner turret here and in my gallery. The main armament is made up of a couple of Marine plasma cannon trimmed down and stuck together. Pretty simple really (which is how I like my conversions)
