Still very much early days project-wise, with a lot of gubbins & armature to wire, glue & bolt into place, but this is my latest project. If you're going to build a stompa, why not go hog wild? Subtlety is not the orkish way

I dont know about a penguin.. but it sort of looks like it has loop earings on..

I though it was penquin with a gold earing , But i love it ... reminds me of Skipper from the Penquins from the movie ...... LOve it keep up the good work...

I like it. I think they reg ones look like they are wearing a dress. Dont think I could let my orky horde have anything that looks like a dress.

GEt some paint on it.

1.) I hope it gets painted some garish color, like yellow. I think that would make it pop.

2.) I now also think there is a need for a Penguin themed stompa.

I think it looks great, definitely penguin-esque...or for you orky people...."Da Pain Guin!" Sorry, its late, but this thing is great, but lets get some paint on it, your Warhound looks excellent, this'll look just as great!

Looking good, Big Mek Super Stompa for sure. Like to see it painted. I think it would make a good leader of a Stompa Mob.

Progress to date;


Basecoat of Chaos Black sprayed all over.
Bolt Gun metal on weapon mounts.
Mechrite Red over hull & shoulder plates.
Devlan Mud wash on the iron gob /jaw & feet.



The next stages are to dry brush Blood Red over the base coat of Mechrite hull & shoulders. Then I will pick out plate edges, bolts & other metallic gubbins in Bolt Gun metal then give it a wash of Devlan Mud all over.



Detailing... will take some time. This will include picking out orky iconography, adding rust, oil & soot streaks (lots of all of those methinks) and not to mention lots of grotz.

Progress this past evening;


Drybrushed some Blood Red over the Mechrite foundation.

Stippled & lightly dry brushed some Boltgun Metal into cracks, over plate edges & on spiky bitz & gubbins.






The latest pic shows some other orky boyz to scale. I've decided that the underlying concept is that this is what happens when a big-mek from the Evil Sunz clan get caught up in Waaaaagh! fever. Since the stompa is dead big & well shooty there will be lots of scrap & wreckage to make even better bikes & buggies, and the rest of the clan muck in with only some minor encouragement from the threat of deff dredds etc.


Then Ghazgkull comes along, decideds he's having that big stompa (hey, it even comes in red), clouts the big-mek unconscious & says "Roight, I's is biggest & youses all work fer me!"

So glad you lowered the ends of the shoulder pads, it did look like he was an 80's throwback stompa with those huge foam shoulder pads. Now e loks propa

I think it was a great choice to not go with the flowery dress theme the plastic kit comes with. So far looking good, can't wait to see it painted. How many pots of devlan mud do you think it'll take to cover that then?

Love it! I've seen some (attempts at) a scratch built stompa, but this is probably the first one that seems orky to me.

Taking a break for now, but it's 99% complete, just a few wee bits to go back & tidy / neaten up.
