Having recently started a Chaos army I placed an order with GW direct for Chos Havocs and Raptors. My order went through with no problems however I received an email several days later informing me that I would be recieving no Havocs as they are now out of production and only one box of raptors as they have no more stock and will not be making anymore.

This makes me think that we may see a release of CSM models in the near future, however this is the only evidence I have for that. So I was wondering if anyone had heard anything? It would not surprise me if DE got bumped back as there is a much bigger market for spiky marines and their codex is outdated. I would have though with deamons coming out in August they would release GK in October (after the Fantasy boxed set) and then possibly release CSM in December after another Fantasy/LOTbullgak release in November.

Any thoughts?

They arent making the god awefull raptor models any more?! If this is true I'll be extatic. I had 4 out of 6 fall over and break in 2 movement phases and 1 fall appart in the 2nd assault phase. the models are so unstable its stupid

OK, for one, DE will not be pushed back, even GW could see that would be stupid. But secondly, I believe you. Maelstrom has the "While Stocks Last" on Havocs and Raptors. However, it might be a while before we get any glimpse of a posible date.

And December sounds right, after WHFB release in Nov.

Also if a Plastic Deamon Prince is released with the Deamons release then there is an automatic addition to the CSM list straight away. I don't currently own a deamon Prince and my only iota of interest in the Deamons release is to get one.

couldn't agree with you more brother, I loathe demons, but love the fact they're putting out a new DP with the bigger dreadnought base to boot!

Doubtfull it take two weeks max to set up new packaging and if that had been the case then they could have said sorry there will be a four week delay and still had my money rather than giving me a refund and information that the product will no longer be available.

I like the current raptor models but I agree they're super unstable. I got a bag of those mini round fishing weights and stuck them under the bases to keep em from falling over. I'd like to see em do some new ones in plastic if they're really OOP now.

This sounds promising. The current Raptors look great, but are not practical due to the top-heavy design. Plastic Havocs would be a welcome change from the current ones.

The Raptors and Havoc blisters are still available on the US website, but that's probably only till current stocks run out. The Havocs boxed set is already unavailable.

Hmm. New raptors in plastic sound interesting, would make nice conversion additions to my WE army aside just slapping jump packs/wings on berzerkers. Havocs you say? Well now..that is good news.

Inside a pretty, pretty pain cave... won't you come inside?

I just converted my own raptors out of CSM and the wings from tyranid gargoyles. Never really cared for "official" raptors. I'm sure you can still acquire whatever bits you need for Havocs, but it is annoying they don't carry them anymore.

I made raptors from basic CMS bodies and added jump packs, worked out pretty well. Couldn't fathom spending what I would need to on 15 of the bastards.

Seeing as I just finished converting some Bezerkers into Raptors (for reasons of them looking horrible and being poorly weighted) I would be very sad if they released a new model.

Perhaps, they are just phasing out the boxes of those models. I've seen this happen before a long time ago with other stuff, so it may just be due to repackaging and not going out of print.

I have seen new box artwork on the Thousand Sons, Plague Marines, and havocs at my FLGS. Now, they match the rest, with that red apocalyptic background instead of the models on some kinda forest-y game board.

Probably?

Personally, I never really liked the aesthetic, or the fact that they're in metal, personally.

Sorry, meant 'never had a problem' in the sense that I've never had balance problems with them. When I first saw 'em all those years ago I thought they'd never stand up, but mine are sturdy and perfectly in tact to this day.

They probably aren't cancelling the models, just putting half as many in a box and reducing the price by 15%, or putting twice as many in a box and trebling the price.

Just had a further email after I tried to order individual blisters of havocs:

Games Workshop regret to say that at the current time we cannot meet your order requirements in respect of [product code], [product code] (havocs with ML and LC) we hope that later in the year you will not be dissappointed.

Interesting.

There's our mystery product in October then.

Actually new plastic raptors and havocs will be released in October to coincide with the release of Codex: Grey Knights. In a new bit of fluff written by Matt Ward the Grey Knights decide to compensate for their lack of assault and devastator squads by using their super mind control powers to enslave all the Chaos raptors and havocs in the Eye of Terror. So from now on raptors and havocs will only appear in Grey Knights armies. A pdf version of the soon to be out of print Chaos codex will appear on the GW website - this will be identical to the current version except that raptors, havocs, and lesser daemons will be removed. Oh yeah, the Grey Knights also get Bloodcrushers.

If you need something to fill the Havoc shaped void in your life, you could just make some. You need a box of CSM's and the SM Dev boxset, and some IG autocannons if you want them.
I've made a squad and I prefer them to the metal GW ones. Check them out in my gallery.

That's better.

That'd never do that. It's too much math. They can handle dividing by two and increasing by half-again.
