Before GW came out with their knight titan kits, I built a Warden based off of the epic version. He didn't survive the move too well so since I just got done with my Warhound and have plenty of leftover cool pieces thought it was time to rebuild him and give old Mr. Potato head an interior. Here's some shots of him prior to the move, the epic scale model, and first pic on the rebuild. I cut open the back quarter so it will be easier to work on the interior.

Floor's built

I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at but I like it. Anything that starts with an egg on legs can't go wrong.

I'm always surprised at how out-of-the-box some of the old GW designs were, compared to their current OTT grimdark aesthetic.

PS - where can we find pics of the warhound? You can't just dangle that in front of us without giving us the goods...

Thanks woof. It's going to be the baddest Mr. Potato head in town. I like some of the older models, they were much more "cartoony." Pictures of my completed Warhound are in my previous thread called Warhound diorama. I'm building a modular floor to insert inside the warden. Here's some more pics.

Props for taking on both a really obscure and kind of silly model, and for doing an interior!

My one thought would be to mount the potato at a bit of an angle, the Epic model has a bit of a beetle-like curve to it while the larger version looks a bit more, uh, potato-ish.

I agree with Kyoto. It's a cool and ambitious project to reproduce such an old epic model, tilting the main body back and lowering the head some to match the old Warden more closely would be an easy and strong improvement in my opinion.

Thanks guys. I'm totally changing the pose. He's going to be running while squishing a terminator in his hand. I'm giving him a power fist instead of 2 cannons.

That's the spirit...I have to admit I was not sold on the model when I saw the first picture and then you showed the old photos from White Dwarf and it made sense what you had built. Curving the hull will make it look some much more like the original epic model. Do you know I think someone in my gaming group has these hanging around somewhere.

Looks like the missile launcher from an Armorcast reaver titan.

Yeah the tan one is from a mech but I'm probably going to end up using a Valkyrie missile pod on the redo

Taking a break from the interior. Working on the new pose. Took your guys' advice, lowered the head to match the epic model better. Also leaned the top towards the back more like the epic model. Unfortunately my Reaver reclaimed his missile launcher. I added 2 Valkyrie launchers but they may look too small? I don't like the mech one. Too roundish. I have 2 of them so I might combine them like I did the valkyrie one and see how it looks.

Starting painting. For the exterior need to mount the should pads but that's pretty much how he's going look. Much more detail work left inside and out.

The two Valkyrie missile pods are a good idea, but still a little small. Perhaps you can scratch build one using some sort of pointed rivets at the end of a cylinder.

Absolutely wicked! The fact that it looks so alien makes it look supper futuristic & totally sweet. i reckon it could with cold trim on all of the armour plates, i mean its a knight, it'l be re-gailed in the only the finest décor.

Sweet, looking at the rocket options, have you still got the original set(the one at the top), i think that suits the most.

Need to hit up the hobby shop for some tubing for the exhaust. Other than that exterior is built. Paint in progress

Sick mate, want to build one myself now haha.

Done for now. In the future,I might put a Terminator in his hand. Want to move on to something else.
