Hmm, it works for me. Has she checked what she's got hotkeyed? Head to the game menu, hit options and then controls and see what's hotkeyed for chat and command (command simply being chat but with the slash already typed for you).
Anyone know whereabouts Jambayemon was looking for quartz when he died last Saturday night? It'd've been around 10pm GMT. I know GangstaMuffin helped out by stashing Jambayemon's stuff in a chest surrounded by cobble... but we now can't find it. Jambayemon remembers the co-ords being something like 102, 64, -98, but that can't be quite right (could it be 1002?) 'cos it's in the middle of the more civilised area of the Nether, where there will be no quartz (also I looked there and found nowt).
Using my magical powers of remembering what was said even though I wasn't online at the time...

Hey, recently joined up, and I've found a quiet spot around about X220 - Z900 where I've set up - hopefully that' not too disruptive to anyone - can't find any other buildings nearby, and It's "camouflaged" anyway
The only thing I'll say about where you set up is that you are really limited on what you can do and all of that land is 1.0.0 generated so you won't find any emeralds.
There are a fair few people living around you, that's why I say you are limited. http://www.darkinnit.com/dakkamap/#/215/64/871/-2/0/0
And by "Limited" you could probably do an entire Let's Play without seeing something generated by someone else- but we tend to build BIG on this server.
Anyhow Dark Apostle 666 that's probably not the best place to build seeing as its within visual distance of a few people's homes. Its better to not be able to see anyone near you whilst on the high viewing distance setting. Always check on the map too. 200 blocks should be about the minimum you want to be away from people.
I've made very sure that my hobbit hole is completely invisible from the outside - but if anyone says I'm in their way or whatever, then I'll move, I'm not looking to cause trouble - Anything for a quiet life
I'm just to the west of the midpoint between that giant floating orb, and the titan place , my exact co-ords... X -217 , Z 877, on the western side of that cliff.
Just realised I forgot to put the "-" on the X co-ord earlier, oops... my geography lecturer would kill me!
http://www.darkinnit.com/dakkamap/#/-560/64/3014/-1/0/0 Who is this? Just want you to know the entire area is under development, I was planning on building a city there :/
If you can see i marked out my territory with signs.
I think that's the second time in as many months someone's asked to demolish that place. As I said a while ago its assumed to be uninhabited due to it not having changed at all since the time when I first saw it. Its not built up much and there's not really many resources. I'd get a confirm from Darkinnit though. Don't want to go demolishing things.
I have returned! The Vanilla bug has bitten again and i have returned to my previous builds. It would appear that my old T-flip-flop gates using a sticky piston to leave a block has been fixed and thus made my city gates stop working (oddly 2 of the 4 work and these are the East & West gates)
In trying to fix the other gates i broke one of the working ones and started looking for a fix, i found a new compact T-flip-flop gate using droppers and a hopper which i can make easy, the part i am having trouble with is the comparator i need to finish the wiring, i know nether quartz is new and i still have not made an enchanting table nor do i have the levels to even try to enchant silktouch.
i am looking to purchase 4 nether quartz to fix my 4 automatic gates, if anyone has any they would be willing to part with i will purchase them. Just let me know what you are looking for and i will see what i have.
SkySlasher and I yesterday completed the extension of Corridor 440 from my dwarf chasms all the way to Savage Island. I think that makes it comfortably the longest 3 x 2 underground corridor in the game, from a little south of here:
Apologies if it went under anyone's land (it probably did). I think we managed to avoid making contact with anyone else's mines, though. Feel free to extend a corridor out to it if you fancy a relatively rapid north-south transit route and live in the area. It's at x 439 & x 440, and y of either 39 (in the south) or 10 (in the north).
i am looking for some slime balls or sticky pistons to trade for, i need 5 but i would trade for up to 10. Is there a slime spawner on the server somewhere i could go?
Swamps spawn slimes naturally. I should have slimeballs somewhere in my house that you can take if you really need them, but Slimes spawn rather commonly. =P

I remember Dark saying something to do with a Minetruck and that he had been banned...
if no one has claimed it, may i claim and harvest it for My Railway ?

Scavengers, scavengers everywhere! You know what you could do, as crazy as it seems, go to an abandoned mineshaft and take those rails! Isn't that so crazy??
You can get loads from abandoned mines, quite quickly. Most of the 3000 blocks of rails in the underground route from Savage Island to Chasmholm were from abandoned mines.
The one that interests me the most is probably the daylight detector, admittedly, but most everything else also looks useful in its own way (redstone blocks look pretty awesome as both decoration AND a way of storing massive amounts of excess redstone).
I made chequered flooring for my bedroom from Redstone and lapis blocks - it's a better "red" colour than red wool - more "blood red" than "scab red", by the old citadel paint reckoning. (if that makes any sense)
Other than that, I've not used any of the rest of the things 1.5 added yet, But the daylight detector seems useful... If I didn't live underground...
Hoppers are pretty fun and same goes for droppers, the daylight detector is great for some awesome lighting for villages and other cool stuff. Nether Quartz blocks are pretty, and go well with red. Skellies have a nice chance of killing you with their rapid fire when you get too close, which kills armour like no one's business.
Hoppers seem like a great way to make automated farms, especially watermelon farms. Watermelon vine + piston set to repeat occasionally where the watermelon would grow + flowing water pushing the watermelon slices in to a hopper connected to a chest.
Man, I have not been on the server in ages... Taking a look at the overviewer, MAN does my house look terrible (And boy have so many people done better versions of it too).
Does anyone have large amounts of Nether Brick or Netherack they would be willing to trade? If anyone does let me know what you'd want in return, I think I can supply most items in various quantities and hopefully we can do a deal
As Anvildude guessed as much as I can possibly get. My current project is eating up all my current stocks and I haven't even got half way through it yet.
My current list of jobs includes: Finishing the walls, making the towers taller, giving the towers a roof (hence the need for Netherbrick) , add automated lighting to the grounds, finish teraforming the grounds and surrounding areas to get rid of all the sudden drops off the edge of the hills, build a bridge to the mainland, build a keep to live in...
guess I know what I'll be spending my time doing after I graduate
While on my way to help Eagle, i was killed by a pigman, and the server reset on my stuff. Im not bothred about any of it, apart from the 14 Obsidian I need to make his portal, and the Flint & Steel to light it.

Server restarts don't delete items from the ground. But even so, the nether is a dangerous place. No inventory reset.
Someone has been mining the obsidian towers in the End, may I say that those are not to be mined? Get obsidian in your caves, don't ruin the little scenery that is in the End.
Does anybody play minecraft wasted by shotbow? They made mine Z and tons of other server side maps.
Minecraft wasted is based off the wasteland mod for arma II and it's like day Z but with no zombies.
I played lastnight and the guns spawned commonly which was nice. The starting pistol is good enough to kill other players and your well able to use it competitively.
It uses a server side texture packaging changes tools to guns and dyes to ammo, at first I hadn't downloaded it and was running around with a wooden hoe
If anybody plays we could set up some fortifications and have a nice base area for those at dakka dakka.
Tyranid Horde wrote: Someone has been mining the obsidian towers in the End, may I say that those are not to be mined? Get obsidian in your caves, don't ruin the little scenery that is in the End.
I did but I only took 8 obsidian. But that was a year ago.... Back when I barely had any resources.

Reload the nether and remove all the tunnels to people's homes? Even if only certain chunks were reloaded I doubt that anyone could be bothered relaying their tunnels/portals given the number of active users that are on now. =P
We could ask Dark very nicely to gift each of us a bit of horse armour (perhaps several bits, in proportion to the number of saddles we've acquired, since those are also dungeon-only?). I agree it's a bit of a pain to make it non-craftable.
Hmm I suppose we could even build a dungeon as a group project and have horse armour distributed that way. Or we don't get any or Dark pops on and say gives everyone who happened to be on at that point the armour and leave it to everyone else to trade.
Or seeing as we have crafting recipes from when it was in we can trade the materials and perhaps a small fee for it. It takes 6 ingots and a wool so maybe something like 8-10 ingots.
Bear in mind that these are snapshots, they're work in progress. They've already changed the crafting of horse saddles once already. They're not even at pre-release stage yet. I'm sure there'll be further tweaks to it before the 1.6 release.
Also "most of it [the Nether] is explored"? Really? I think I disagree there
If it is something that needs to explore new Nether chunks, it seems like a good opportunity to build some good rail systems.

Ah. Anyway
I played 1.6 Minecraft. Quite fun, Horses are quite balanced. I love them so much. I named my horses
Terry Blackfoot (Was actually white with black spots O.o)
Lily The brave (Brown + black and white highlights)
Jennifer Swiftfoot (Gray +black spots)
And then little Gerald (The offspring of jennifer and terry)
Pretty cool. Gold armor makes the horses look badass /no joke

I use to be. But I don't really have the drive to start making texture packs for minecraft.
Oh, well if you ever have any free time and get to urge to make a texture pack, it's only a few retextures of a few tools and mobs, not an entire texture pack.

As an OP/Admin on a (cracked) server, I've found it quite handy, especially the minimap and nuker. And the fly mode, 'cause 20 blocks per second is just awesomesauce.
Minimaps are available in a variety of mods that don't involve using a cheat client (Reis minimap, voxel map etc) and as a server admin I prefer much less destructive methods of maintaining the server than using a nuker ability. Things like World Edit and MCedit are far less... messy.
As for flying, I prefer teleporting. If you use the ~ symbol with co-ordinates you can travel quite a bit faster than 20 blocks per second...
In other news, I'm buying Minecraft today, after playing it for two years. Huzzah!
Wich is cool, 'cause I may participate in the Netherlands biggest Minecraft youtube series.

True, Worldedit is better, although the minimap displaying players is rather nice.
Plus, I've catched several people with Nodus capes
I started walking through the dakka map.
I found Not_U's manor. Nobody home, and no pork allowed, so I returned to the Nether portal.
Decided to sit on a throne.
There was a hole in a wall in the Nether tunnels. Fixed it with some dirt and cobble.
I ended up in the Grotto, but can't find it on the map.
I'm going to start making a little hous in less then an hour. After that, Ill be looking for diamonds and obsidian non-stop, until I got a portal. Then it'll be connecting it with the rest of the system.. And after that, I may work on making a rail system in the Nether..
Noob, theres a couple lakes of Lava next to my place, so if you want, Ill mine you some next time Im on, and just PM me with where I should hide the chest with it in
OH my... Nether Rails are tough work- basically, we attempted to build one into the beginning of the whole server, after the wipe and restart, but due to multiple people with different ideas of what to do and different tunnel designs, it kinda ended up, well, not. (Seriously- who was it that thought a converging loop system was the best way to go? Clearly a 2-way branching rail line is best- that's how it was on the old server, essentially).
There's work going on on an Overworld Industrial Rail line, though.
And you should explore a little more. Check out the Mesa (if you can find it- it's clearly marked, but people still have trouble)- or go by Ma55terfett's caverns, or the Dwarf City, or Chasmholm, or the Manor Proper (the massive one made of bricks). See the Beanstalk, and Dark's Castle, take a tour of Hellsreach and check out Lazuli Bay.
I've been doing some exploring. Been to Hellsreach and Chasmholm too. I'll do some more when I'm back to my house with the obsidian, and when I got my line to the spawn portal up.
My little house is nearly finished, just a few more blocks.
And then I'm going to make my tunnel to the spawn. Once again, thanks for the obsidian janje!
There was a floating dirt block with a sign on it above the Manor portal. Was too high for me to read.

I think I've had a rather good mining expedition. Found two stacks of iron, some gold, several stacks of coal, and some other stuff, including nine saddles.
Actually, mojang did a good thing about getting rid of horse armour, it makes it more of a status thing now, to show you actually explored the world instead of strip mining for diamond.

No dlc jokes please Some idiot will probably take that seriously.... Poor guy who ever does. a /sarcasm at the end of it always helps.
Main reason why I say it would be better is that our server is getting a bit too big.... for the maps sake. We need recipes more than we need new items. Unless it is regeneration of chests. Where they rest all monster dungeons.
Dark, my friend bossofzeeland just joined for the first time and told me the spawn farm was a bit griefed. I grabbed my repairing gear and went to it, only to find a massive crater, and my friend jumping around, confused about where the spawn exactly was It was bigger then a creeper explosion.

Ironically I've been meaning to take my house down for a while now and just not got around to it, so the fact my house survived it seems to be a mixed blessing.
Still, I'd love to know how someone stockpiled so much TNT to blow up large parts of spawn and suburbia (and anywhere else we've missed) Do we think it was a premeditated attack, or spur of the moment?
I have a very good clue as to who it was. I've banned them as a precautionary measure. Once I get home I'll just double check if everything proves them guilty, they stay banned.
Heh, you banned me. Funny enough it wasn't me. It happened to be Deminishment, I only know this because he messaged me saying he had done it right after he finished doing it. I had no part in it, I simply went to inspect the extent of the damage a couple of days later, and found out he had destroyed a whole lot more than I expected, obviously with stolen TnT as we possessed no such stockpile in our base. We may have played together on the server but this was all his handiwork, none of mine, it's not like I knew about his plan to blow a bunch of stuff up until after he had done it.
See now, all I could do at work was check who last had TNT in their inventory in that location. Which happened to be you. I banned you temporarily as a precautionary measure.
Now it may very well have been Deminishment, thanks for the tip, it will speed up my investigation. However, why didn't you report it?
What do others think, is Phyrexia guilty by association? Should I maintain his ban, or forgive for (belatedly) revealing the truth?
It's even worse gameside than on the map, but at least Dark can roll it back. I wonder why he did it. I wouldn't ban Phyrexia, he didn't do it. Mind you, he should have told Dark right away.
I found the TNT he left behind undetonated, I happened to pick up a piece, and logged off in the area because our base is way out in the middle of the ocean. I had to break my bed and then commit suicide so I could spawn back in spawn town, as the journey there from our base takes an eternity, hence why I logged off there after sleuthing around.
To be honest I didn't report it because I never play Minecraft anymore or post on Dakka. Also I figured somebody else would find out about it sooner or later and deal with it themselves, not that that is any excuse.

Never for long.
Regardless, if anybody is interested in finding our base, which is filled with loot and other items of interest, if you just use the nether tunnels and head to the portal to the Mushroom biome, the last left before you get there will take you directly to a portal that takes you to our base.

Thanks again for the heads up. The only reason I'm really asking now is that the main server I was playing on has shut down, probably permanently.
When you get on there, freel free to find an empty plot in Suburbia and build a place there.
Most people who have played on the server have some kind of presence there, it's just a nice little community project, to contrast the fact that most of the time people stay pretty far away from each other and do their own thing.
Oh, and I have a mine below it. Feel free to dig around, but leave 1/2 of what you find in the chest at the entrance, and try to keep things organized and well lit up.

First, I put a chest outside of my house, by the stairway. Feel free to take whatever you want from it. It'll mostly be building materials, but I'll put old tools in there as well.
Second, just below my house, to the right of thenoobbomb's plank bridge, there's an entrance to a mine. Feel free to dig in there. Just keep things tidy and leave some of what you find in the chest at the entrance.
Third, I'm starting in on a tunnel to the Spawn. Anyone wanna join? I'll mark its entrance out with a sign.
Tim?, I am making a road from the portal to my house, so it's next to your house. Normy98 is working on an undergrou.d railway to the portal in the meantime.
I will log on once we find horses. I would like people to help start breeding them once 1.6 comes out. It will help alot as I love horses in real life and would like to make an area close to spawn so that we can give horses to people that want them.

I'd be up for helping with that. I've already set up a portal in the Nether that should spawn in unloaded chunks in the overworld to help with the search
Playing a bit of single player for the first time in months, came across a pyramid type thing.
One exploration, a large explosion and a respawn later, and I found some diamond and gold at the bottom of this pit thing, and then built a mine inside it.
About 20 blocks down, and I hit a stronghold t'was a good trip, considering I just went out to get cacti.
So, I've spent quite a bit of time in aforementioned desert biome today, so may I present, to whoever the hell happens to be reading this, my desert castle (lots of pictures:

Spoiler:
Build a pillar and walkway above the castle.
Destroy the section of the walkway which would be in the shot.
Get a two-block pillar jumping routine going, destroying each block at the bottom.
When desired height is reached, smash the block below and take the screenshot mid-air.
Climb the remains of the pillar and walkway to cut it down.
Forget that it is made out of wood and you left your axe behind.
Casually build a crafting table on precarious ledge.
Make a wooden axe because you also left your cobblestone behind.
Moving my house. I was playing around in creative mode on my personal account and I realized that hollowing out hills is the best way to build a house. Fastest too.
With my barely being on since the great server reset (and not at all since before the tekkit server went up), I'm kinda behind on the current events of the server.
Last time I visited it didn't have the roof then:
http://www.twitch.tv/darkinnit/b/357637462 (about 20minutes in)
The grand hall underneath his place is equally impressive.
Obviously the new netherbrick cooking recipe helped him to finish the roof.
At Any rate... Well done to whoever built that... Its sexy as hell!
And Shrike, Anvil and I have a Railway project going off at the moment.
Well, last I checked I had a fethton of rails in the manor from the old netherway, though admittedly, that was back in the first week following the server reset, so it may have been pilfered/used since
and I forgot about Fett, the silent hero of a builder

I believe the polite thing, when you set off a creeper on someones Roof, is to either leave a sign with your name or at least try and Fix the damage ¬¬
It isn't for everyone. If you have been playing games since the beginning when games were actually challenging, you will enjoy it. It is a really calming experience. Except for when night falls and the creepers come out. Actually, go on Youtube and look at all of the awesome stuff people have built. Apparently some guy built a scale Starship Enterprise complete with fully decked out interior. That takes some dedication.
I find games like Minecraft to be a breath of fresh air during a time when videogames have become depressingly easy. Once in awhile we get gems but they are rare. I just bought a used copy of Resident Evil 6 as I have always been a huge fan of the series since it was on the original Playstation. It was $25. I'd rather get my money back and buy a used PS1 and play all the great games that it came with.

So yeah, I don't really post in this thread. I make the Dawn of Awesome cartoons, which are equally loved and loathed on this website. Well, I made a Minecraft cartoon. At a glance it may look like a Dawn of Awesome cartoon, but it's actually the result of months of hard animation work instead of the typical burst of sleep deprivation that makes a Dawn of Awesome cartoon. Anyway, figure there might be some overlap in the audiences here in the Dakka Minecraft thread

Just counted them up, the tally's at 225. Admittedly, a lot of those are just different versions of the same skin, so actual unique skins number around the 100-110 mark.
Last time I visited it didn't have the roof then:

The grand hall underneath his place is equally impressive.
Obviously the new netherbrick cooking recipe helped him to finish the roof.
Nope, I got 99.5% of it from nether fortresses because it's way faster (imo) and you go though fewer picks.

Spoiler:
Shot from inside the hall (below the caslte thingy)
From the other end. Its just long enough that you can't see the other side when you put your view settings at "Far"
Outside the above ground part.
inside the above ground part, it's hollow for now.
I reckon you could go off minecraft for the next four years, come back, and still no one would have built anything close to that
Seriously dude, I consider myself to have a pretty good attention span if something interests me, but jesus I wouldn't have gotten 10% through that build before I drifted off to do other stuff
