Serrated blades were all the rage back then Looks good though
How about an actual half-track based on the wartrakk, have a 'cab' front with 2 wheels rather than the bike? That'll give you a bit more space in the back.
You realised that was a bit of plasticard used as packing when I sent you the cars right?
Miss Dee - if you're interested I have a couple of beat-up Dredds I have no use for
Both missing their lawgiver barrels, and the standing version has a 'seperate' boot component
great atv weety , and yet again another mini i have never seen before , that imperial commander is pretty slick love his auto pistol , or stub pistol , it seems gw has never really sorted out the difference between those two weapon class's
@ monkey .nice dreads .although i am more of a ABC warrior dude , bring on the cross dressing killer bots and repressed even bigger killer bots , oh hang on thats your thread iam talking about
Thanks neil - I think that's meant to be a bolt pistol he is carrying - they were a hell of a lot smaller back then!
Well I did some painting - but I am glum because some people voted some of my juves and honeys down to 4-5 for paintjob and coolness. How? how can people be so cruel! Everyone must go to my necromunda gallery and give them 10/10 right now or I will give up painting!
Seriously though I shouldn't get stressed about it, some people are cruel - for all I know they got voted down by white supremacists who don't like models of a different skin colour.
So here are some more orlocks - please don't be mean to them.
I am very pleased with their bandanas and stuff.
Now for something completely different - mutant nurgle squat, who I have decided to call 'Bootstrap' Bill Turner because he looks like that guy in pirates of the Caribbean
Whatyatalking fool... send those shaven headed cross bearing supremacists , down wiv yo multycutural minis round here , me an ma salamander homes will go gangsta on those fools.
Seriously though you paint because you want to and we all appreciate it becuase your bloody good at it , everyone eles can go chuff themselves right , your minis are wonderfull , i doubt you would be on the front page of dakka , right in community spotlight , if they were'nt. Your new minis are a testament to this , another well painted selection of cool minis with real personality.

Can't recall the nurgle squat, but he's cool, and the new orlocks are ace, loving the freestyle on the loincloth.
Yeah, don't sweat the ratings (unless you have a few hundred votes and it's still down low ), some of my favourite cyborks recently jumped from high 7's down to 3's and 4's. At low numbers of votes it only takes one low score from some grump to wreck your average.
Miss Dee, PM me your address and I'll get 'em off to you, not looking for anything in return.
the nurgle squat`face is the spitting image of bootstrap bill turner...just some shells needed to complete the deep sea pirate look for him...
your new orlocks look very good, as usual...i think some peeps are more jealous than art apreciaters...so i guess this is the cause for lame votes...but i guess it is the price one has to pay for attention...now that you are indeed a major player one of the things to cope with is bad behaviorism...being unimportant saves you from the most harrasments...trite but true...
by the way i have to ask something... most times i don´t pay the gallery of dakka a visit... only when i want to see more detail than shown in the thread i visit the gallery at all...or to search for inspiration (stealing ideas^^)...so this raises the question...should i begin to vote? this may sound a bit stupid but i have never yet voted for a single pic seen on daqkka? am i a bad dakkaite for that? your reaction kind of shows that i probably should begin...
well I wouldn't mind at all it you did vote! But I have to admit I usually only do it when something really stands out as both really cool, unusual and well painted.
Monkeytroll you are right - I shouldn't sweat it as its early days on the votes for those. Did your chalice arrive yet?
And forgot to say, I got another cool storage box from you today weety, this time you seemed to have left a chunk of purest purple in there
It's cool, smaller than I thought (that's a good thing ), fits very nicely in the hand, and in real life you can see the multiple variations in the purple much more clearly. And wasn't expecting that lovely blue gradient inside Lush!
Here is more mugs - take note darkstarsabre and LavuranGuard, these are wip for your mugs!
And here is what I'm working on right now - warhammer fantasy dark elves!!! they are very old and they remind me of dark eldar so I'm saying they are dark eldar pirates whos' cabal has been exterminated, so they have thrown in their lot with the chaos warband
squee is a good response. I will be glazing sometime next week - probably wednesday., gota let em dry and be biscuit fired first.
I have what looks like a cold one with a human rough rider - it is actually from I-kore minis, but I'm temped to use the rider as a sentinel pilot (remember the space crusade dred) as he looks to heavy for the slim dinosaur he is riding.
Chowderhead - Are you proposing that I should take shots of a mini from more than one angle?! But that means I have to paint the backs!! (just kidding of course)
qoute "Chowderhead - Are you proposing that I should take shots of a mini from more than one angle?! But that means I have to paint the backs!! (just kidding of course) "
i knew it ! this is the only reason you can paint so fast and not be a harpy she devil, are we going to get another blog called now with extra bums
Well you wanted bums so here are the dark elf assassins front and back. They look a bit camp - but if you look closely you can see the mark of Slaneesh, which explains everything.
I'm working on some vehicles at the mo - you might just get to see a walker or two soon.
Any way - elf-ass aside. I am doing a pre-heresy marine for charity - "the pre-heresy legion conclave" is the name of the thread - you can fnd it here http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/375179.page - do a marine from a founding chapter in an oldschool style.
Here is work in prog on my raven guard marine. Black is tricky - but easier than white so I'm happy. The tricky bit will be freehanding the symbols in white - but I love a bit of insane detailing - keeps my hand steady and my eyesight myopic
you are not wrong darkstar - It was a bit wet still - in fact even now its dry the shoulder pad has a 'wet-look' thing going on which I'm unsure of.
Here is a picture now it is dry and in more natural light
weety do you seal your minis at all? this might work against the wet look... the shae of the shoulderpad looks very good, but the wet look is not to my taste too...also seeing how you did the eye(^^) a more zoomable pic would be great^^as the current one is a bit too grainy to fully apreciate your work done to the eye---the other is not to be seen at all...a beaky cyclops maybe?^^
The angle is just off for getting both eyes in - don't worry when I take the final pic there will be both eyes.
I havn't tried sealing yet - lazy of me. And yes that is ink on the shoulder pad - cant resist trying somthing new -
finally here is a link to a vid of my latest ceramic work - the "soul cube" (persons of a nervous disposition are advised to look away) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SczFS87_7Q
he looks a bit ill in the light^^ a bit blueish...^^
the cube looks interessting, will you glaze it? and if so what scheme ?
also i commend your steady cam prowess^^...er...lol at first i thought the cube was much bigger...ranging to huge...then i saw your hand opening the lid and scale came into perspective...all the more reason to praise your skill in sculpting those torn faces, by the way, they remind me strongly of these:
Nice job on the soul cube, any plans for the glazing yet?
Squat's cool, not sure on the colour of his top though (may just be the pic as it also looks a bit two-tone and the base has colour shift on it)
I quite like the shiny look on the marine's shoulder, but agree it should really get matted once done to tie in with the rest. And what is going on with his base in that second pic? Is it clear, cut-away, did you put some of your carpet on the base, have you photo-shopped it, what? Inquiring minds want to know.
I picked one up from e-bay for about a tenner, 50 cm cubed when unfolded, similar to Iffy's, but poorer backgrounds. I still don't use it as much as I should, mainly becuase at the moment it's best working position is balanced on the back of a reclining, spinning chair, using a book to keep it balanced on there Not ideal fgor placing delicate work in.
Good spot Gits. I believe these guys had one arm missing, and came with plastic arms and a choice of weapons. OK, maybe this guy had one missing, some had two plastic arms.
edit: Colour sounds good weety, what are the metallic glazes like?
Thats right - some have one arm plastic and others two - I've yet to do the ones who need two arms - shortage of arms unfortunately - plenty of weapons.
very rare! I just checked on ebay and there are only 4 different listings for chaos squat. I love rare minis I think I'm becoming an obsessive collector
Lol - its true. Everyone should have a hobby through - keeps boredom and questions about the meaninglessness of existence at bay.
I managed to find some more goblin arms for my chaos squats - they have cartoonishly large hands but I love the claws - I'm gona have to redo the knife on this but its otherwise quite nice:
Would you be interested in some Necromunda Spyrer figures? I think they're probably less old school than a lot of the other Necromunda minis but would they still be of interest? I have one of each sat in the attic doing nothing so would be happy to donate them to someone who was actually going to put them to good use!
That sounds cool! any idea which type? there were big chunky ones with gun-fists, slim ladys with a laser and a sword - little guys who look like wolverine and flying dudes.
PM me
Automatically Appended Next Post: oh you have one of each - sorry I should read more carefully! I would love them!
Was just about to finally put those chaos backpacks in a jiffy for you, but I'll have a look around before sealing it as know I saw some squat arms the other day.
Wow yous guys are so kind! - If I ever make you another mug monkeytroll remind me and I give you discount.
Speaking of kindness - inmygravenimage gave me some techmarine bikers without bikes tother day - and look what I got for them on ebay! Quite cheap without riders, bikes are. More will be arriving soon!
everyone loves the bikes! My fav bit is the spiky wheels. I thought the newer plastic style were a bit boxy. I used to strip them down to make them more streamlined looking.
Automatically Appended Next Post: The pics workin now - the planet Minogue K! 80s-tastic
This is very very early days yet - my first attempt at plasticard. I think it will have a small viewing hatch in the front, escape hatch in the top and some kind of sensor array. Maybe a missile launcher on the side...
will this be something on the lines as a count as sentinel? will you let it stay boxy as is or will you smoothen up the form? you could always add additional armor plates to create depth annd detail... also as i am a great believer in rivets... this could help too^^
will you involve GS? looks promising! in fact this even more reminds me of the chicken walker AT-ST from the classic battle of hoth than any true Sentinels from GW... if this goes all the way i might borrow an idea or two^^
it is very star wars isn't it - and I think you are right about armour plate and rivets - I'm not sure how I will do very small rivets though. It going to stay quite boxy I think.
or like i do use a holepunch... as for the boxy thing... you could create an angle in the front...two triangle pieces of card and you create a "nose" to the front...then add the viewpoint...small run rivets could also be made from tiny balls of GS...if you dont intend to make millions this might be the quickest...fiddly a bit but works too and you could make rounded heads for the rivets/bolts...
yep! *punches the air* another one for scratch building! i see you used household items for your creation! i like what you did with the additional card ...the star wars looks is very fitting... will you make the whole mini more colorful as usual or will you go down town with some muted paints? would suggest the later ...cool stuff *big smile*
Cheers for the positivity guys! I cant stop staring at it. I must get more space crusade dreads!! Thats three walkers now, the 2nd edition sentinel, a squat/scrunt walker and this one - I think I should paint some.
Muted colours for this one - but a little splash of red here and there for interest. I wonder if I can paint a mechanicus cog?
useful to know for next time - I want to make more of these.
Those are transistors from an old circuit board not batteries. I would be afraid to use batteries in case they corroded.
It did come together suprisingly quick but I have been planning this for ages - collecting the parts and trying to figure out how it would look best. Originally it was going to have an open cockpit and driver but I couldn't decide what mini to use and how to position it.
will do progress shots. The primer is halfords matt grey acrylic primer. Then I've used slightly watered down vallejo black wash but any would do. I think they are going to be quite plain apart from some metal bits, a touch of red here and there. I might wash over some of the grey with a mix of green and brown washes - it gives an olive green drab colour
Someone who wants to play Squats!? That's not true, that's...Improbable?
I just have to ask, are you making these in response to that one post on one of the Squat threads about making all their vehicles Walkers? Cause if not, you should think about that.
You can buy them from bob olley (one of gw's ex sculpters) at olley's armies. I think he makes them in his shed. They are pricey but unique and quite sturdy once you figure out where all the bits go. He also sells a variety of good/evil squats (for legal purposes referred to as scrunts) and ogryns (sci-fi ogres)
Automatically Appended Next Post: anvildude - no I never read that thread...
for quite some time i thought the old sentinels where the pinnacle of walers produced by GW...then i see your boxy walker with safety fuses all over and i think it looks way better... now i feel spoiled and robbed somehow, but not in a bad way...dang... i need to get my own walker idea on the way...
by the way...seeing this walker of yours...who sits in there? squat, men or chaos? have you decided?
also a bit of red and maybe a bit of white for markings would be great...! looking forward to it getting a bit more than a wash...although that as usual helped a lot to bring the model forth
eggs on legs! yes that was them alright. I will enjoy painting it when I get one but I think it will feel out of place next to the other walkers - they might make fun of it.
Here is my latest offering to the paint gods. It is a chainsaw warrior from 1987 or some such year. He has three pistols and a missile launcher and is a bit badass
I just like those pre-heresy armours. (or just Rouge Trader post-heresy armours that got replaced in the river of time...) Definitely gonna buy some from FW.
BTW see some Chinese subtitle on your computer screen in the pictures of the third post
Can't believe I haven't found this blog sooner, it's been a total trip back in time - seeing so many figures I used to have (before I left my entire collection at the house of a friend of a friend and never saw them again - there were hundreds!)... Having said that, a few did survive, and I've 1 in my gallery (stripped and repainted) and 1 here - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/299508.page which I haven't the heart to do anything with...
Love the latest Chainsaw Warrior, excellent paint job (like all its predecessors in the blog) - looks much better than mine were... The squats are awesome tho, I had quite a few back in the day, and it's great to see them again, and given some love!
Hello y'all. I have been a bit lazy recently - me and my bf discovered GTA san andreas and I am really much better at it than him so I got a bit sucked in (competitive me). So much so I think I'm going to write the makers a letter saying thanks for ruining my life. but I haven't completely given up making and painting - here is my latest atv wip
I'm glad those last two posts didn't get merged.....
The ATV is looking good, weety - did a little bargain-hunting on eBay myself on Tuesday - Ursakar Creed, Jarrod Kell, 3rd ed Yarrick (in metal) and a Cadian Sniper for £11 including postage.....
And I reckon San Andreas is the best of them, huge game. I'd probably hold off on writing to Rockstar just yet though, you only appear to have lost a week or so, I lost months and months to that, and in conversation the other day remembered I'd been massively side-tracked and was still nowhere near completion. Friends and I were all contemplating unearthing our PS2's for more jolly japes with guns and vehicles These are the kind of games I love, where I can just wander off and do my own thing, completely ignoring the 'actual' game.
I'm taking it very seriously I'm afraid - I'm already the king of all los santos with bulging biceps and a treasure trove of guns... although I understand from reading the walkthroughs that I'm headed for betrayal and a fall and I've only completed 15% of the game. the bf likes to wander around until completley lost and then shoot everything until the police cap him. He also had a side project of making his character obese, bald and almost entirely naked.... which is what I call getting value for money out of the game!
dysartes - you got a deal there. For some reason jarrod kell comes up with squat on the google search but I seem to remember him being a witch hunter? Is he the one waving the massive shotgun? Or maybe he is that necromunda guy with the twin laspistols...
Yeah, think there was a military base you could break into wasn't there? Although I seem to recall you could get a tank in Vice City too, memory's a bit hazy on that
weetyskemian44 wrote:dysartes - you got a deal there. For some reason jarrod kell comes up with squat on the google search but I seem to remember him being a witch hunter? Is he the one waving the massive shotgun? Or maybe he is that necromunda guy with the twin laspistols...
Did a bit more shopping over the weekend, too - 4 2nd edition metal heavy weapon teams, three guardsmen and an old-school terminator inquisitor for £19 inc postage, the early Imperial assassin with combi-weapon for £3 with postage and a cadian medic & wounded dude for £3.50 with postage. The terminator inquisitor has the psycannon and force rod, with the body with bionic leg - unfortunately, I was outbid on the other auction, which had the deamon hunter body, with the power fist & combiweapon :(
Damned Money!. I have to be very disciplined about buying. I have just blown a load on paint - and got some rt space marine scouts and space pirates... But no more!
I am actually painting a nurgle dude with a heavy plasma gun. But its slow progress - yesterday my home town went for a world record event "the most pirates in one place". We totally whupped hasting's ass. Anyone here from hastings? We beat you on quantity of pirates!! 8130 to 6000. But as a consequence I have terrible sunburn ad hangover combination... ow.
I used to go to Hastings a lot as my Nan lived there, but haven't been in years. Bit of a dump now from what I hear...
I too am a bit sun ripened, after cycling from Whitehaven to Penrith on Friday (should have carried on to Tynemouth over Sat & Sun, but an injured knee forced me to abandon. :( )
On topic, I was given a few Chaos heavy weapons marines from circa 1990, and a regular Marine from '87 the other day. Will post pics if people wanna see?
Recipe for vomit armour - vallejo flesh tone blended into the undercoat and the first black wash, then topped with vallejo green wash (much lighter than GW).
Yeah - the vallejo washes are thinner (less pigment) than GW so I sometimes find them no good, depending on the requirements. But often this is a good thing as I can control the results better by adding multiple layers and such.
Good news for those of you patiently awaiting sculpture or mugs; they are in for their final glaze firing. I have a good feeling about the results but as always we just wont know until they are out. Sorry for procrastinating so long (it is carnival season down in penzance)...
weetyskemian44 wrote:Recipe for vomit armour - vallejo flesh tone blended into the undercoat and the first black wash, then topped with vallejo green wash (much lighter than GW).
I've never seen those forward facing ones at the bottom before, or the space marine. Few missing bits (those authentic backpacks are hard to come by). Im looking forward to seeing some paint on those - I had a look in you gallery and liked the neon harlequin! Nice and bright.
Here is a bit of conversion I had to do - bought this guy without his axe cos he was proper cheap
Nurgle heavy is cool, like the green/purple contrast.
It would have been a poor show if the Pirates of Penzance had been out numbered by the pirates of Hastings Now you'll have to try and get more Normans than them.
Went with the classic axe look for khornish dude I see Are you going metallic with him, or is that just the photo?
Archroy - that guy reminds me of some of the old chaplains and techmarines, can we get a shot from the side, hard to make out what's in his hand.
yes a few more shots and we should be able to tell.
That IS metal monkeytroll! I haven't undercoated him yet!
I had some green stuff left over so I did this guy - he was cheap too - no gun
I think you might be right manoknok! I seem to remeber that you could have them standing in the top hatches...
Thankyou for your kind and somewhat grammatically confusing post neil101. I'm trying to get a squad for each chaos god... Been a bit slack on the tenzeetch front.
As requested, here are a few more pics of the "mystery marine" as he shall henceforth be known. He seems to have an early incarnation of a powerfist in his right hand, and nothing in his left (which I thunk was odd - no gun???). On the slottabase tab it has "Marine" on the front and "GW 1987" on the back...
I like the Khorne fella with the big chopper Weety - can't wait to see him painted up...
Yay for bad grammar but sorry for the confusion weets , I had double posted a sentance , then my picture link broke , and that wicked Monkey was being Festicious again relinked
Oh goodness, Neil. That is some old school nostalgia! That Iron Warriors banner made me crack up, it's so goofy looking. At the same time, that Alpha Legion banner is actually pretty frickin' cool. Thanks for sharing those.
Speaking to the nature of your mystery marine: I agree with Gits. He is a heavy weapons guy/devastator. (I've got the same guy, and he's been running around with a conversion beamer painted as a Silver Skull for years.) The right hand grasps the handle of his gun and the power cable runs up to it. His glove does look sort of power fisty though, mk I maybe? I'd put his date at about 1990, but dating minis is not my strongest suit, so I may be off.
the nid mug looks really cool, but has to stand way in line for the cube... that marble effect looks almost tasty...if cookies got put inside no cookystealer would dare open the lid... probably not even the cooky owner^^
weetyskemian44 wrote:Here is my finished warhamer style pottery -
genestealer mug
Squee! That's turned out splendiferously and well worth any wait! And the symbol is perfect as well (always preferred the old stealer symbols to the more current 'nid ones)!
Cheers monkey! I hope everyone here has seen monkeytrolls fabulous cyborks.
latest arrivals all ready for painting - scouts and space pirates. these were a bargain so I had to snap them up - I also have one headless scout but thats for another day. Maybe I should have a go at sculpting one?(head)
i´d say sculpt it...will be interresting to see how you fare with this... if so be sure to make a good step by step^^ for pinching tech and ideas of course^^
My RT scouts fell in with a bad bunch and serve with traitors now.
Your scouts going for the green and white armour your marines have, or you have something else in mind for them? Although, actually, by the time I've written this you've probably finished them
Classic old-skool pirates, searching the ground for anything shiny.
I am actually quite slack at the mo for painting - watching hellraiser with a few drinkies etc. "what is your pleasure sir" "the box" "take it it is yours.... It always has been"
I am tempted to accept your offer gravenimage. But I should learn to sculpt really as I have always been skillful with my fingers (lol again)
Here is something I knocked up today. They are WIP at the mo - I wanted to test out my new aqua-marine wash. The guy with the bazooka type thing is a blood bowl dwarf with a ball cannon!
Cheers trollmonkey.. It is several layers of old GW yellow wash over white undercoat. Needs another layer if you ask me. In fact these guys need a few more layers everywhere
Lovely lovely work with the sqauts weets , i really like seeing the blood bowl stuff as i never got any minis as a kid , they are so much fun too ., the skin tones are blooming marvelous.
You mean the extra gothic thing he wears at the end of the film? - thats definitely what inspired me to do this! - I cant seem to find a pic of it yet (I suppose I could just watch the film again)
The Khorne dude is amazing Weety - lovely vivd red, and love the finish on the bone on the chainsword. And like others have said, the blending on the bunny ears is outstanding!
The psyker avec eyebrows looks cool - a touch of Ming the Merciless (if he'd been blue!) going on as well as the Megamind vibe...
Always time later - got my mug today weety! It's fantastic. Even better in the flesh as it were. I'll get a 'niddy picture of it tonight but to say I've had my first cup of tea for three years in it this morning....
I digress. An entire page without pictures! It is anathema to me! I must get painting. Mugs were thrown this morning at an obscenely early hour. They should be dry enough for sculpting and handle application tomorrow so pics will be here soon enough!
Slaanesh tempts you with his evil sugar coated frosties! Papa nurgle also revels in their irresistibly for where there is frosting there is also decay! Personally its tesco value bran flakes for me - the staple food of the Inquisition - keeps them regular and pure.
Love the old models, I'm hoarding them myself for some crazy henchman groups. Gotta love the crazy stuff like a marine with a shuriken catapult and other oddities. Great thread in so many ways, thanks for sharing it with us!
Thanks - Hope they come out of the kiln in one piece - I haven't had any failed mugs yet but apparently is bound to happen eventually. I'm sure they will be fine though.
Yes Neil the purity seal mug is now part of a product line of 2... I may even make another one on spec. You might be worried that this means yours is no longer one of a kind but dont worry, this one will be greener and it hass a tiny skull instead of an =I=
Dantay_xv I feel like I'm being complimented by a very happy talking baby... Which is nice!
In all fairness most of those minis he painted in 1980-90 (I wasn't that good back then either) and I love them all especially the gene-stealer cult. There are some great conversions too.
Latest acquisitions. The hive scum was very cheap because of his missing gun - normally they are a bit beyond my reach.
I'm painting my deamonettes at the mo - they look good already but I have to go to work so no pics till later
lol, the smiling talking baby is my 17 montth old son Ben. And he does talk a lot, he "bought" me the rather spiffy space wolves mug that you made.
I like the arbites model, i remeber someone converting them into space marine scouts.
Now you just need the arbites squad leader with the eagle crest on his head.
well i missed only three whole pages of this fantastic thread... but oh so many cool looking minis i had to look now at! summerholidays are over and i see there is evil at this thread....mega ming! wow that really blow my mind...^^
I like the way you did the Chaos Squat and the Hive Scum. The Squat is more vivid but for some reason I prefer the colors on the Scum (that's a sentence that I never expected to ever say). I think it's my personal leaning towards browns, greens, and flesh tones...and perhaps because the figure is more dynamic and personable as well.
He has a lot of personallity doesn't he - you can really imagine him spending his creds in some greasy spoon on a massive fry up and getting food stains on his vest
Oh its not for vic - And no I wouldn't do that to a customer because it was my fault for trying to speed the process up - the mug wasn't dry enough when I put it in the kiln
Very nice trio of minis there... The Scum fella is my fave too. I agree with Vik, he definitely looks like a moonshine swillin', demi-john playin' rednck hillbilly... Like he's stepped straight outta "Deliverance 40K"...
Psyker was pretty cool, I was looking forward to seeing your interpretation of peacock feathers on the collar, but the bright colours work well as a contrast
Skanky hoes looking nice and skanky, those are proper daemonettes, skin, feathers, claws and big glowing eyes.
Chaos squat looks like an evil scheming monkey-faced child, very cool, nice little tail
Shotty guy does look a bit bitty, gloves and the leather look good, rest looks a little rushed, unusual for you.
Greasy Jo does indeed look awesome, very nice job there. Great flesh tones again, like the stubble. Is he blind in his right eye?
"And no I wouldn't do that to a customer because it was my fault for trying to speed the process up " What? Don't try and speed up anymore, next you'll be showing us 'this army I painted yesterday'

Points at monkey Papa!!
The green on that las pistol is very nice Weety , as is the skintones and leather on the scummer. Though I have been known to be partial toa couple of skanky hoes too
Monkeytroll I am reasured - I shall not try to go any faster! In ceramics it is always tempting to rush things as there are a lot of enforced waiting periods - drying out time being the one I tried to rush... oh and plasma pete has a bionic eye - which I seem to have forgotten to paint (rush job again) and a normal eye which I forgot to add a pupil too... oh dear
giraffex - the plasma coil was painted white - very very white with several layers. Then washed with vallejo green wash, which is a much lighter shade of green than gw and not as thick.
Thanks rayvon, stick around, there re plenty more oldies to come - I've got traitor marine devastators and terminators, world eaters, oldschool space marines and eldar yet to go, Plus more goliaths and delaques and a smattering of squats.
Cheers neil101 I am loving your current work myself - all that greenstuff sculpting must be a learning curve
Automatically Appended Next Post: archroy and inmate asylum - I fell asleep during deliverance so how about "once upon a time in necromunda" now that was a classic
eldar done by you sounds delicious...have you already showed us some ? think not...this will be an education in itself...some nice harlequins would be right up your alley so to speak!
I'm really tempted to paint an eldar now. I have been saving them right from the start for when felt my painting skill is better cos eldar are tricky. Its getting them smooth thats the ticket
Here is something I snatched out of a red hot kiln today. It is a thing of beauty - the pics dont do it justice - it is light as a feather yet sturdy and as black and shiny as a patent leather shoe, no actually blacker and shinier. And it fits in my hand nicely too. - looks like it holds a fairly large cuppa too, well not small anyway
I am leaning that way - but also I'm tempted by the last world eater. But I wont get anything done tonight - after three 8 hour shifts in a row sorting out a huge dusty shop basement I feel in the mood for sleeping - there is a lot more to go too - its stocktaking time and our basement is "the land that time forgot" and the upstairs shop floor doubles up as a sauna during the summer... Will make an effort to get a little done over the weekend because it will cheer me up

Hi just wanted to say thanks for this enjoyable thread which i've been following now for a while. You inspired me to start my own collection of e-bay purchased OOP vintage miniatures with accompanying blog. I just started the blog today and it'd be cool if you could check it out. Thanks.

have been a bit lax recently. Its all because of excess work, and illness, but mostly because my boyfriend went and bought an x-box and fallout 3. My character is called "lezzer" and she is a ranger of the wastes with a trusty robot bodyguard and a plethora of guns... I'm completely hooked - who wouldn't want to wander a post apocalyptic waste searching for bottlecaps.
But my hours in work are going down again and the flu is gradually leaving us so expect muggy goodness and maybe some more delicious chaos traitors soon
Oh dear, just as I am getting back on it my internet goes down - Oh well. I'm in the local library and I only have an hour so I'd better be quick - here is a purity seal mug:
Thats yours all yours. At least it will be in 3-5 working days so long as royal mail dont hit it with a sledgehammer on the way to you...

Weety mugs. Highly recommended. And speaking of royal mail I have to chase up a few folks who I made trades with....I've yet to receive anything I was supposed to be sent and I've left it a few weeks ...
We will keep our fingers crossed it all gets sorted out quicker than my broadband was when I moved, I resorted to getting a pay as you go dongle in the end as it took almost 3 months
Asyluminmate - well funnily enough I am on my mobile broadband dongle right now - bloody ripoff they are though - no streaming films for a start or I will use all my allowance in a flash.
Cheers monkey - I will have to have bloody telecoms dudes come hook me up I think - massive drag - might have to move a bookshelf or two.
cheers enzephalon - I do love making epic mugs.
Here is what I got up to while the internet was unavailable

Yeah its definitely not a long term solution, but it beats having to go hunting for somewhere with a wi-fi connection
Hmm yeah. I love the Khorne guy. Funny how back in the day 'eavy metal always used to use green for Khorne blades and stuff but now they don't. Idiots! It looks great.
Thanks all. The arbites shotgun is a blood red base with a carefully applied sepia wash. And I've got a whole variety of green washes and metallics for the chaos weapons - I'm looking forward to doing some more.
